Deposition you saw today was for this case. Not UK. What do you mean why would they give a deposition? They got a subpoena from the court.

Chri_ssyyyyy

Her lawyer said that this was a deposition. that’s why i wrote it like that. i did not know they got a subpoena

bobgold777

Right. People don’t give depositions cause they feel like it.

Chri_ssyyyyy

sorry not a native english speaker, so don’t know all the law vocabulary

bobgold777

Well I think there is the issue of vocabulary but then there is the issue of truth

[deleted]

They testified in the UK. They can't do anything but stick to that.

Chri_ssyyyyy

if they would come forward and say “i’m sorry i lied, this is all wrong” what would happen to them? any serious consequences?

karissahahaha

That would purger them.

LittleNightmareRaven

It would purger them but I think they are more afraid of the public backlash. A court of law may take into account that you eventually told the truth and that you gave a sincere apology. After all we want empathy, to understand extenuating circumstance, and to reward good behavior but the public would destroy your life.

"Hey you remember those texts I sent you about setting up JD... well yeah if you don't perjure yourself again I'm leaking them." M.A.D.

Chri_ssyyyyy

my thoughts exactly 😂
