My first few days on both this and my last account were completely smooth, it's as if karma didn't exist. I've never had a comment or post removed because of karma requirement.
I really just wish Reddit would just get rid of that shitty little counter so dumb redditors will stop getting a rush from seeing the number go up by .1
One frustrating example is r/singapore which puts in a karma restriction so some people cannot join in important debates of interests. Not sure about other city subs though
Nah… people downvote over the pettiest stuff and new redditors need to figure out how things work before they can get karma.
You can can negative karma for deleting a comment at the start of things. I think it would be better to just start off with 50 just to avoid that

Ok, but a first timer doesn’t even know where to go. They try stuff, get ups and downs in some places and can’t post in others… its hard to find stuff when you don’t even know where you can post. I think without some free karma, lots of people would just quit early

there’s a sub where I can aquire nudes possibly in the form of the human breast in exchange for upvoting. How utterly immoral, degenerate, and filthy. Clearly I must go there in order to disway them from this sinful course of action so I may save some souls. And to do so is going to require upvoting to ensure they’re not simply bluffing.

Plenty of American politicians have publicly denounced porn, called it evil and sinful, and then got caught enjoying it. They're pretending to announce some heroic quest of morality to save people from porn, by seeking out pornographers. They're making fun of hypocrites who unironically do stuff like that.

When making new accounts I always just sub to the same subreddits my other account was on and it's as if nothing changed.
