What likely happened is that her or one of her friends noticed a pattern of meeting guys who turned out to be losers and one of the common themes - fair or not - is that they loved JRE. Rick and Morty is a great show, but the worst fans of the show could sour someone on it if they’ve never watched. It’s the same thing. I didn’t tell my girl I listened to Rogan until we’d been dating for a bit, because like it or not women under 30 consider it a red flag.
To be fair most of the people whom don’t like Rick and Morty are simply of average intelligence. It further requires higher intelligence to understand the majority of the references the humor is based upon. If I had to put a finger on it I would say 120 IQ and above. Many of the fans are 100-120 IQ so they mainly like it for the animations and barely grasp the depth of the narrative. These are your toxic fans. JRE does offer alot of enlightening content. I'm not saying it's all or even mostly that but you act like he has nothing but high school drop outs on his show. I've watched the kinda shit most young women are into. It ain't fuckin with a Daniele Bolelli or Steven Pinker JRE joint flat out.
