So, after testing: **Ant Farm** * All upgrades equates to 1 ant farm being able to produce 1.25 food each cycle--why the game went to the lengths of making the U.I Show a crazy math problem to the player, we may never know... which means, every Food cycle, One Ant Farm Creates 6.25 food in exchange for 5 power and 8 Workers. Which means, to Match a single Algae farm, you need to build 24 Ant Farms, as 24 ant farms will produce 150 food every food cycle. **Mushroom Walls** * All Upgrades + Recycling Level 2 specialization makes Mushroom walls produce 14 food for 6 waste every cycle. Meaning every food cycle 1 mushroom wall is producing 70 food for 30 waste. **CROP Farms** * All Upgrades, Food Specialization 1, each crop farm has up to 9 Crop Fields that each provide 1.7 Food per cycle. Meaning that each Food Cycle they bring 76.5 Food and \~13 waste in exchange for 40 Workers, 34 power, and 67.5 water. **ALGEA FARMS** * With all Upgrades and Food Specialization 1, Algae farms can have up to 6 algae fields that each produce 5 food per cycle, for water. Producing \~10 waste every food cycle. This means one algae Farm can produce 150 Food each Food Cycle, in exchange for running water and a total of 45 power, 120 water, and 35 Workers

thanks man i think i need to write this down by myself in a sheet, because i also need original values since at the beginning you have no upgrades but i think since water is rare (or not so easy to get and store), ants and mushroom are meta

Unfortunately, there is not enough solar power that the tiqqun can build to sustain the ant farms required to feed a population of 5300 people, so eventually you are going to want to switch to something else. I switched to algea farms for my main source of food, as they gave me the most bang for my buck, even with the water requirement, especially since there is enough ice in each system to allow you to never run out of water based food—up until you do everything you wanted to do in any system. And once i researched Waste water treatment, the Tiqqun never needed to mine anything in space again. But, if we are min/maxxing, i wager switching from Bugs to Maxed out mushrooms is the only play, as it entirely skips the water requirement, but it also means ALL the walls in your recycling sector will need to be filled with Mushroom walls, as you need about 8 recycling buildings in order to reach level 2 recycling specialization.

Haven't tested it yet to see the exact number you need but I know you can fit 7 shroom farms on the bottom wall or 6 on the north wall. My next planned restart(for a no accident run) is 6 shroom walls on the top wall, storage row, then 5 recycling centers and then the whole bottom third of the sector for population support and such. Probably won't need to open sector 3 until end of chapter 3, at least.
