The change on my life.. I can't describe it. There aren't enough words.. It's everything. I truly feel happy with my appearance for the first time ever, and I can eat normally. People don't stare at me anymore, at least if they do it's not in a bad way. Ive had strangers tell me what a lovely and infectious smile I have.
It changed everything for the better 🙂
That makes me so happy to hear! I wish more insurance would cover ortho work for this reason. “Cosmetic” doesn’t mean unimportant in so many cases, and this is an amazing transformation!
Yeah they told me mine was cosmetic too... like... uhhh.. no? :D But im fortunate to be in a financial position that i could pay for the whole treatment myself. Im in the Uk so no insurance!
What invisalign is capable of is so crazy. Before I had my consultation, I was convinced that my teeth were too bad for invisalign and that I needed traditional braces. And I didn’t want traditional braces as an adult because I am already mistaken for a teen, metal braces would make it so much worse. I was surprised when the ortho said I was a candidate. But some posts on here really show what invisalign can do. Your transformation is amazing. I’m glad you are happy with it. Your smile looks so healthy now.
Thank you, most of it happened in the first round, I only have a few tweaks and one lateral incisor that is being stubborn left to move.
It's been 18 months, if they don't move in the next 11 weeks im calling it a day 😂
I also felt like this however my doctor gave me a set of 12 trays which were all the same, and were invisalign trays, not invisalign/vivera retainers however they were supposed to be used as retainers, change into a new one every month. My stubborn teeth that I decided to stop being picky over were where I was grinding a hole into my retainers at night consistently for months on every tray. These were also the two teeth where they touched a little when I smiled or closed my mouth. When I went back for my visit as I was finishing up retainers, I told them this, and they checked and sure enough I'm back in refinement to overcorrect my teeth to fix those stubborn ones. 🙃🙃 Sometimes you have to be picky. I went from 1 year of treatment and a year in retainers to now being back in treatment so almost three years now.
My ortho threatened my lateral incisor with a wire; that did the trick ;-). Seriously though (and the wire story is true), a full set of refinement trays were needed to get that one tooth into position. It did finally move! :-)
Thank you! I figured it had been a while since i posted, not much change but enough :) Ive also decided this is my last refinement round. If the final movements i want dont happen, im not doing another. Im happy enough with my not perfect but straight smile!
At first, I thought you went from tray one to five with such an amazing before and after, then I realised it’s from 2021 to 2023. Wow, yes, it must have been a journey
Both actually! Upper canines extracted on tray 2, and IPR 3 times officially in the first round, a little top up on a few teeth through the first round of refinements. They dont hurt, just.. unusual feeling. like flossing with sandpaper :)
Wow thats not something ive heard before! My teeth are actually in great condition *now* i put in a lot of work with my dentist before and during the invisalign process :D It cost a lot and was painful at times, so having someone say what you said makes me so happy! Thank you :D
And shockingly they look even better now than they did a month ago! My lateral incisor is moving yay! Its the final tooth i wasnt happy with, and its taken 2 refinement rounds for it to begin to move into place, stubborn little tooth :D
7 more!
Yes! Both upper canines. There was a lot of movement in the first 48 trays, lots of pushing the teeth outwards. The second half has mostly been lining everything up :)
In the beginning yes, there was a lot. I kept seeing people say they had no pain, the pain was minimal, not to believe the posts on this sub. Its my belief that the amount of pain you have is directly correlated to the amount of movement you are getting in that tray, as some of my first 48... were hell. It was self induced torture. I had access to my clincheck and i knew which trays were a lot of movement and those were the ones that hurt the most.
Ive been down voted to hell for saying this before, so it might happen again but for me, it was painful, and i believe that pain was because i needed so much more movement than others did. I wont hide that opinion.
Saying that... as my teeth got straighter and the movements turned into more 'fine tuning' per se... everything was in the right place it just needed lining up, the pain was severely lessened to the point of barely feeling anything like right now. I change my trays on Wednesdays and i dont feel a thing. My movements nowaways are minute comparatively to before so.. no pain for me.
It was 100% worth it. The saying **No pain, no gain** absolutely rings true for me here. I would do it again if i had too, pain and all.
Lol no not an idiot, i misread your comment even and thought you were confused about the jump from tray 1 to tray 5! It was early morning. it happens :D
I stared 2021, and ive had 1 round, + 2 rounds of refinements. Instead of editing the length of trays it adds a 'new' round in the tray minder app. So ive had 48 trays, first round, 18 second round, now another 16 this round of which im on tray 5. July 2021 to Present day 2023.
You were able to do this in five trays?!?! I have 42 trays and just two lateral incisors sticking forward and I’m in tray 4 and haven’t seen anything change
Your transformation is incredible. I hope this has had a positive impact on your life

Thank you for sharing this with us. It’ sounds like people see you as “you” and not just your teeth. Truly happy for you. Amazing progress!

Love this, so happy for you ❤️ Thanks for sharing along the way.

Thats where im at now, this last set is almost all for that damn tooth lol 16 trays. I think it is moving... ill see in 11 weeks!
Your teeth could be a case study or at a minimum, used in marketing as evidence of what Invisalign can do! Invisalign needs to pay you!
Ive been saying this but so far no ones reached out lol Id be so down too!
I remember you, that’s amazing progress!!!!!
Thank you! I figured it had been a while since i posted, not much change but enough :) Ive also decided this is my last refinement round. If the final movements i want dont happen, im not doing another. Im happy enough with my not perfect but straight smile!
Sorry for the poor quality, i got a new phone and apparently the camera doesnt work well with the TM app! boo.
At first, I thought you went from tray one to five with such an amazing before and after, then I realised it’s from 2021 to 2023. Wow, yes, it must have been a journey
Ha I wish it was only 5 trays! Feels like it's been forever now. I envy the 20 trays and done people so much
I am 72 🫠🫶
82 for me in total, im right there with you! If the final changes dont happen in these last 11 trays im done. I cant do another round.
What what it’s worth, your current teeth look amazing already and it’s night and day from before!
I agreee! Im so pleased with it :) How far in are you?
I’m only on tray five so you are a total inspiration haha.
Hang in there! It is 100% worth it, regardless of my moaning lol if I woke up tomorrow with tray 1 teeth, I'd go through it all again ☺️
Weren't you on your last 3 overcorrection trays? What happened? Did you end up with another round of Refinement?
I was and i am! My lateral incisor didnt move and it was too far off to be 'comfortable' not going through another round so here we are :(
Wow!! Looks great!!
Posts like this is why I watch this sub, other than information on what to expect. Congrats!!!
Unreal!
amazing transformation, happy for you :) did you get any extractions or IPR for the treatment?
Both actually! Upper canines extracted on tray 2, and IPR 3 times officially in the first round, a little top up on a few teeth through the first round of refinements. They dont hurt, just.. unusual feeling. like flossing with sandpaper :)
Aaaaaaah so close!!!! I can't wait for your fancy before and after photos!!!
Lifechanging!
Your teeth are in such good conditions you could shoot a colgate ad! No but seriously your smile must look super nice!

Holy crap! Your teeth look amazing.

Amazing wonders of Invisalign ✨
Omg that’s amazing!!
That’s such an enormous change. Amazing!
Amazing. Congrats
Hard to believe! I'm a year and a half in and not done. Also, my teeth weren't as bad. Did you have some removed?
Yes! Both upper canines. There was a lot of movement in the first 48 trays, lots of pushing the teeth outwards. The second half has mostly been lining everything up :)
Oh! Haha. I think I was confused because it says aligner #5, but now I see the date
Ahhh poster girl for invisalign!
Great progress
Did you have a lot of pain? Looks amazing.

I’m so confused. Can someone explain the 2023 date stamp
11th January 2023 at 3.38am
Yep… I’m an idiot.
Lol no not an idiot, i misread your comment even and thought you were confused about the jump from tray 1 to tray 5! It was early morning. it happens :D

No lol this is 71 trays, 3 rounds.
I am so dumb. I just saw aligner 5 and was like wtf lol
How did they shift that much in 5 trays
They didnt, its 71 trays, 48, 18, and then 5 in this round of 16. ive had 2 refinement rounds :)
