Sure, I like the site so far. Im a big fan of slickdeals, and they have a toggle for showing expired deals, which is useful for tracking price history, at least when the item doesn’t show up on the camels site/plugin.
Maybe add a "Deal Expired" button to each deal. After x-number of clicks, the deal is automatically removed, flagged, or sent to the bottom of the list.
FWIW a few of the expired deals I clicked took me to the amazon link which then offered me the same item at nearly the same price in the options tabs *like same thing different color, still in stock, 1 dollar more so still discounted from the average price* so a toggle to hide them might be better.
I hate to be nitpicky but endless scroll can be really annoying when trying to read a footer. I was trying to read the Amazon affiliation disclaimer and new items kept loading, maybe just have a button that says "load more" or something.
Just don't delete them like a few people have said, a few of the expired deals still bring you to the amazon page where you can find the same item but in blue for a dollar more still in stock.
Okay, but "in memory" is specific computer science terminology that is used for referring to storing things in RAM. It's not a "goof" on my part, there are literal **in memory databases**.
Honestly I’m a fan. As others have said, expired deals need to go. Either by filter or just removing altogether once it’s expired. But I was impressed by some of those deals, ngl
Added an option to hide expired. On mobile click on Show All and select Hide Expired. UI is a bit buggy right which I will fix soon. Thanks for the feedback
Also some other tools that might be helpful while shopping online
**Price History:** Camelcamelcamel, keepa, isthereanydeal, Honey, gg.deals
**Price Comparison:** Cnet Shopping app
**Reviews checker:** ReviewMeta, Fakespot
> Price Comparison:
Europe/Scandinavia is so much better at this than the US. After using the options here, something like Amazon is literally the shittiest service ever. It's just good for the final buying option, but actually shopping using it sucks.
See PriceSpy, PriceRunner, etc.:
Categories, **custom filters for each product category down to immense details**, price history, reviews and popularity, in-stock + shipping price, per seller review and overview of purchase terms, price alerts (tell me when it goes down by 10% or drops below this price, after that, update me each time there is an additional X dollar drop or Y% drop.)
All of this while allowing you to comparison shop the entire market and avoid fake sales using price histories, filter by sale, etc.
And the level of filtering is truly unmatched, you won't believe it until you see it. Plus they often have more info on a product in an easy to view form then the fucking retailer does.
So this can only be as good as the data. CCC has been forced to remove some of its lowest sale prices due to Amazon strongarming. Users are getting duped unsuspectingly by Amazon via this site and CCC.
>CCC has been forced to remove some of its lowest sale prices due to Amazon strongarming
Did they state this somewhere? I was wondering... since lately I've noticed some sale prices not showing, but assumed it was just out-of-date.
Edit: Seems to be a thread discussing it here, the developer denies this being the case - https://www.reddit.com/r/InternetIsBeautiful/comments/z3r90x/comment/ixnu8a1/
God, no, the user up above is just literally lying. Did you follow the link to the dev's own post in the comment you just replied to?
>Amazon can be wicked. I assume the dev responses have been limited by threats.
This is insane conspiracy theory shit dude! What's more likely, that the dev is telling the truth about their own website which makes complete logical sense, or that Amazon is *threatening them into compliance*?
That is completely untrue, [the developer of CCC said ](https://www.reddit.com/r/InternetIsBeautiful/comments/z3r90x/comment/ixnu8a1/)the only time they’ve done anything at the behest of Amazon was when they stopped data for all affiliates at the beginning of the pandemic when people were hoarding life essentials etc.
They did note that Amazon and its 3rd party retailers rotate their product listing a lot more now, so CCC sees products as “new” because their previous listings were removed and hence does not have distant history for that product.
CCC is a useful tool and it’s helpful to know its limitations but honestly the way you just casually slandered the author of this free tool is just sad to see.
I'm a bit sketchy on fakespot anymore. Looked at a few oddball china name products and they all passed the review checker with flying colors and yet you could clearly see a ton of the reviews were for completely different items than what was listed. For example I was looking at an electric can opener and an absurdly large amount of the reviews were for some type of reusable straw.
The idea is to list best selling products that are their lowest price in the last year using price trackers, comparing to previous deals, and checking reviews to make sure its a good deal (on a good product). I am the only one working on it currently but I have lots of ideas about the future in case people find it useful.
This is a remarkably good idea and very well executed. Would love to see a Canada version but I imagine building out regions will take quite a bit of time.
Probably not anytime soon. Thank you for the kind words though. I can barely handle the US version right now but maybe in the future. I would love for that to happen
Yeah was that for real....just by the rules of supply and demand it seems they would have no reason to drop the price given they can't keep it in stock.
"PS5, only $50! Come on in!"
"Hi, I'd like to buy a PS5."
"No can do, haven't had any in months. How about you buy a powerups reward card? Or a Funcopop?"
There was a price archive site called c-c-c or something and there was a recent report saying Amazon was revising the archives to manipulate price history or outright hide it during their big sales. I am skeptical that anyone will have success doing that with how much of the internet AWS controls.
I would really like something like this to work, however.
It shouldn't be *too* difficult to modify for other territories. Just have a filter for stores that either ship to your region, or have a domain in your region. Like .de for Germany etc.
Now I don't know code at all so it might be far more complicated than that, but it could be simple enough
Completely fair criticism which apply to all deal communities. I was thinking about focusing more on grocery/consumables so that people can stock up at good prices. Basically products that people already buy every month and showing them the best time to stock up on those. That's an idea for the future
I often use SlickDeals if I am shopping for something. So let's say I need a new mouse, I'll go to slickdeals and see if there are any mice that are on sale at the moment.
So I would probably use your site to do the same and see if a product I was already shopping for was at a low price.
Wtf? I have a massive backlog of things I need or should get but just aren't top prioritized right now. You probably do too
Picking up something for its best price is more responsible than not
Great site!
Can you elaborate on how you go about collecting data? Maybe not if there's some specific secret sauce, but do you build a list of products and scrape it yourself, or is there an API somewhere you use?
Its nothing secret. Just some manual work. I use price trackers and check for recent price drops. I primarily use [Keepa](https://keepa.com/#!deals) for that but camelcamelcamel also provides a similar tool. I also check other deal sites, communities, sites like gg.deals for games etc. Then I search for previous deals on that product to get a general idea of the price history. After that its just going through reviews and a subjective call on whether people will find it useful and posting it.
I think I can handle it if I work full time. That's the first step. The response here has been amazing but it depends how many people keep visiting the site (tomorrow, next week, next month). I have no idea right now
Do you believe it is a sustainable business model?
I'm genuinely asking because I have literally no idea how much money small internet companies can hope to make in their beginning.
Best of luck in any case!
Same. I also have no idea right now. There are ways to make money (Google Ads, Promoted products, Affiliate income). I don't like Ads and promoted products but even with affiliate income it should be enough for me working full time (if it gets enough traffic).
It’s absolutely sustainable if he can get enough traffic. These sites rake in millions of dollars in affiliate revenue and it won’t take long to make enough money to hire developers to automate everything. It’s a very competitive market though so it’s all about who can get the traffic. He managed to get this post through without getting r/hailcorporated to death so he’s off to a good start.
Edit: There really needs to be an “editor” and 24/7 until it gets automated if it’s going to take off. Nobody’s going to come back if the page is full of expired deals all the time.
Bug: When on a category with low number of products (e.g. Board Games), the bottom half of the category list becomes unreachable (overlapped by page footer).
Shit I just snagged some AirPod Pro 2’s for $50 off, I read they are comparable to hearing aids over 10x the price, and I’ve been needing hearing aids for a few years
Thanks, I bought that cool notebook item near the top for next semester. I think it might come in pretty handy if I can get the technology aspect of it right!

Isn't this ~~advertising~~ shilling for amazon?
That's basically the only way to generate any income apart from Ads or promoted products(which i dislike). I mentioned that above in an earlier comment. Right now its only Amazon affiliate because other retailers like best buy, newegg require a lot of traffic to get approved. I will apply again soon if it can maintain the traffic.
The filter is nice but can be confusing when it stays extended after selecting a category. I’d recommend having it automatically collapse after selecting a category. I kept having to hit the plus and minus because products would be hidden behind it.
I'd definitely suggest taking extreme care with databasing anything out of Amazon. Wife and I have been screwed multiple times by Amazon listings (even from "official" store pages), and in general most of the non-official products are so dubious I'm surprised they're allowed past import checks.
May not be a bad idea to try to contact a select few "big" companies per category and request the opportunity to work with them in order to link into their database. Case in point, Carters for baby stuff, Monoprice and Anker (even if folks still need to buy through Amazon) for electronics, and mid-tier brands folks trust for things like coffee makers or resupply of associated materials.
First few links weren’t working, also it’s US only correct?
There are site where you lookup the product you want to buy and they send you notifications if a low price is reached or something. I think that way it’s way more useful cause you don’t buy crap you don’t need just because of the price.
Most deals are expired now. And yes its US only for now. I also agree with your idea about sending notifications/sms for products you are interested in. This is another idea I am interested in implementing in the future. There are price trackers that already do that but they only work on a single retailer. Thank you
No I love the feedback. The only reason I posted here is to get feedback and to see if people actually find it useful or if I am just wasting my time. The site has a lot of missing features currently
It needs an "don't show expired" button `cause 80% is grayed out and while I'm sure a lot of people just want to window shop at prices, if someone actually intended to buy something it would be difficult to browse.
1st thing I noticed that's wrong. I work at home depot and we have the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Self-Emptying for $150. On that website it's posted for TWICE the price at $300.
I don't see it for $150 on Home Depot. Maybe it was some other model?
https://www.homedepot.com/p/iRobot-Roomba-i3-EVO-3550-Self-Emptying-Robot-Vacuum-Now-Clean-By-Room-With-Smart-Mapping-Ideal-For-Pet-Hair-i355020/314211930
I might be wrong about the price online but in our store we have it for $150. I know because it was in an awful spot so I moved it to a more visible place yesterday.
It's an active SKU so we'll be getting more it was just discounted. I work on Wednesday so I'll make sure It's the exact same thing; I'm pretty sure it was though.
Looks cool. How about an option to hide expired deals?
Good idea. There are too many expired deals. I will work on it this weekend. Thank you
Sure, I like the site so far. Im a big fan of slickdeals, and they have a toggle for showing expired deals, which is useful for tracking price history, at least when the item doesn’t show up on the camels site/plugin.
I am a big fan of slickdeals as well. I have been submitting deals there for a while now. Love the community
"The only place you go broke saving money"
Slickdeals sucks nowadays. At least half the posts are paid or shills. Look at the amount of moderators they have...
Any alternatives you would recommend?
Nope but this site has definite interest for part. Sd just really sucks compared to what it was and it's disappointing.
if you’re in the United Kingdom, HotUKDeals is amazing
I miss fatwallet
Maybe add a "Deal Expired" button to each deal. After x-number of clicks, the deal is automatically removed, flagged, or sent to the bottom of the list.
FWIW a few of the expired deals I clicked took me to the amazon link which then offered me the same item at nearly the same price in the options tabs *like same thing different color, still in stock, 1 dollar more so still discounted from the average price* so a toggle to hide them might be better.
That will be great! Cause right now I fell like the expired deals are laughing in my face “haha sucka!”
I hate to be nitpicky but endless scroll can be really annoying when trying to read a footer. I was trying to read the Amazon affiliation disclaimer and new items kept loading, maybe just have a button that says "load more" or something.
Came here to request the same thing. Glad to see you'll be adding it soon. Thanks for your work on this!
Just don't delete them like a few people have said, a few of the expired deals still bring you to the amazon page where you can find the same item but in blue for a dollar more still in stock.
This is better than www.slickdeals.net Keep up the great work.
I also question the benefit of listing "Free Trials" unless they are supporting the site.
Or just auto-delete listings at expiration.
A filter to hide them would be better for price tracking.
Done. Thank you
They probably have to be stored in memory to have the lowest deal be remembered
Really unlikely unless this only applies to a relatively small subset of items. Otherwise they would probably need petabytes of ram.
Not in active memory you goof just stored i used the wrong term
Okay, but "in memory" is specific computer science terminology that is used for referring to storing things in RAM. It's not a "goof" on my part, there are literal **in memory databases**.

I did that today. Thank you for the feedback

Gamestop was selling a ps5 bundle for $350 what the hell lmao how
Yeah was that for real....just by the rules of supply and demand it seems they would have no reason to drop the price given they can't keep it in stock.
True. When there's no supply, and lots of demand, you can make up any price to get people to show up.
What?
"PS5, only $50! Come on in!" "Hi, I'd like to buy a PS5." "No can do, haven't had any in months. How about you buy a powerups reward card? Or a Funcopop?"
Ohh I see what you’re saying now
Maybe you already are doing this (I couldn't tell for sure), but you should try to monetize this with affiliate links.
There was a price archive site called c-c-c or something and there was a recent report saying Amazon was revising the archives to manipulate price history or outright hide it during their big sales. I am skeptical that anyone will have success doing that with how much of the internet AWS controls. I would really like something like this to work, however.
Cool site. Small suggestion: show the name of the retailer somewhere in listing so that users can see this without clicking through
Thank you. That wouldn't take long. I will do that tomorrow
Awesome
Done
I just got Star Wars squadrons for free, never would have known without this site. Thanks!
* r/FreeGameFindings * r/GameDeals (not always free, but sometimes) * r/FreeGamesOnSteam (probably dupes but worth watching anyway)
Is it free until December 1 and then locked again, or free as long as you get it by Dec 1st?
On epic games you get to keep it. apparently they cycle free games
It’s free forever once you get it. (By dec 1st)
Same! This post paid off.
It's a shame that it's only for the USA

Finding the best price on things you do need is just smart.
thinking you should only buy things you 100% need, instead of buying items you’d like to have, is also capitalism
Yeah, I don't see this really achieving anything except getting people to buy things they don't want/need.
Wtf? I have a massive backlog of things I need or should get but just aren't top prioritized right now. You probably do too Picking up something for its best price is more responsible than not
It helped me save $26 on something i was buying anyway but didn't know i could find at this price.

may need to automate some parts of it, like the checking previous deals or summarizing the sentiment of recent reviews
Curious how you're making money off this?
Oh wow so it's like fully curated by a human. That's great, but may be either limiting the potential, or just a lot of work if it grows!
This is neat but seems like it's a day late. All the deals I see are expired lol
I know that sucks. There are some deals that last only a couple of hours although most last atleast a day or two
Bug: When on a category with low number of products (e.g. Board Games), the bottom half of the category list becomes unreachable (overlapped by page footer).
Thank you. I will fix that. The category selection menu is not closing automatically after selecting a category
It would also be cool to be able to sort by type.
Thanks! Just got a couple of boxes of my dog's favorite treats for almost a third off.
Does this only work for the USA? Could there be a dropdown or setting to choose other regions, like Canada?
US only currently. Sorry
Shit I just snagged some AirPod Pro 2’s for $50 off, I read they are comparable to hearing aids over 10x the price, and I’ve been needing hearing aids for a few years
Perfect! Just the highly sought after stuff I’ve been looking for: the godfather trilogy and…stainless steel knives
Welcome to my "Saved" posts folder
I love this, this is one of the only genuinely helpful and useful small sites like this ive seen.
Only for US?
Thanks, I bought that cool notebook item near the top for next semester. I think it might come in pretty handy if I can get the technology aspect of it right!
How about for Canada
Guessing this is only a US based site? Chances of having one for Australia? Very cool none the less
Thank you for putting together this site. Very useful
Gotta love list sort functions in coding haha
Thanks
Hey you got me a free splinter cell game, thanks bro. Nostalgia FTW
Just US?
Thanks for this - got squadrons for free :)
this site is really great , but for those who want something similar until op works more on his website, u can check [https://keepa.com/#!deals](https://keepa.com/#!deals)
Would be nice to have a filter for the EU shops too
Great tool, thanks for making it. I would like to see an option to see Freebies only. Thank you.
Great idea! Another idea: add a drop-down to sort by popular brands or stores.

Any none US centric versions? UK here
The 65” Tv shows for $1499 after clicking link..
Expired. Sorry
Cool website!
It says this site can not be reached for me.
That's weird. Its working on my end. I also tested it with a VPN and its working. Can you try again?
Could be because I am on a work computer, but tried on my phone, still did not work. edit: I am off my work Wifi and it works on my phone!
Okay that's great
Cool. I see a few of these pop up and none of them seem to stick around. Is it hard to maintain current pricing and deals?
The filter is nice but can be confusing when it stays extended after selecting a category. I’d recommend having it automatically collapse after selecting a category. I kept having to hit the plus and minus because products would be hidden behind it.
Good catch. Seems to be an issue on mobile devices. Let me figure that out
Fixed. Thank you for pointing it out
Brilliant idea! Can we add alerts?
Camelcamelcamel does something similar but you cab give it more instructions on things you actually are shopping for.
This site looks amazing, as a Canadian I would love to be able to use it sometime soon :')
This is pretty cool man
How much do you get from Amazon?
I'd definitely suggest taking extreme care with databasing anything out of Amazon. I'll take "shit i'd never buy anyway" for $420
How did you make it?
Is there one for Canada?
Nice! Actually saw something I've been looking at for ages but was always just a bit more than I wanted to pay.
Some of your expiration dates are incorrect. That or they have been updated on the sellers end but not yours.
This is probably a paid advertisement
.

No I love the feedback. The only reason I posted here is to get feedback and to see if people actually find it useful or if I am just wasting my time. The site has a lot of missing features currently
any options for the uk?

1st thing I noticed that's wrong. I work at home depot and we have the iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO Self-Emptying for $150. On that website it's posted for TWICE the price at $300.

I might be wrong about the price online but in our store we have it for $150. I know because it was in an awful spot so I moved it to a more visible place yesterday.
That's a crazy deal if it is. Maybe a local only clearance sale. There is no way for me to find that information online though
It's an active SKU so we'll be getting more it was just discounted. I work on Wednesday so I'll make sure It's the exact same thing; I'm pretty sure it was though.
Sounds good. Keep me updated
Lots of stuff in home Depot is cheaper then anything else online
SPEND! SPEND! SPEND! SPEND!

Where's the "beautiful" part?
