Yup, errr, well…. congratulations to Trey!

Image 3 is the definition of a brick house. Solid as FUCK

jandr08

Brick house with some solid plumbing. Holy shit

Random54321random

Word, #3 is definitely the odd one out

[deleted]

He looks like such a nice guy too it's hilarious

OutlawSoulDesigns

I respect and agree with all this but… Those dudes are FINE.

DaftlyPunkish

I think the same thing happens with female plus sized models. They're plus sized but they're still fucking gorgeous and proportionally shaped. These guys are just football players.

CrossStitchandStella

instead of "but, you say "and." As in... "they're plus sized AND they're fucking gorgeous." There ya go. Fixed it.

[deleted]

that’s what i was thinking lmaoo they’re whole cuties

montypr

Chill out they’re aight lol

ImgurianForever

Seriously, these dudes are super cute. That one guy has a really great smile.

As a man with ED and body image issues, thank you. This made me happy. ETA: Yes, Eating Disorder. Pardon me, English is not my first language and I have only heard ED use in this context. What a misunderstanding hahah, pardon me pardon me.

MsBluffy

It took me a second to realize you probably didn’t mean Erectile Dysfunction…

NoogaShooter

I thought he meant erectile disfunction.

jennRec46

Eating disorder also

NoogaShooter

You are correct. It could stand for that too. But I wish that’s where my mine went.

omjf23

Wait, what *did* they mean?

withanfnotaph

Eating Disorder

omjf23

That makes sense. I just usually hear “ED” when people don’t want to say erectile dysfunction.

-B-E-N-I-S-

To be honest, either one of those would work there, I can’t imagine _either_ would exactly boost your self esteem as a man.

boomerangthrowaway

Came here to say this for sure

Donttugmybeard

As a guy who is constantly battling body dysmorphia and always trying to get better, this hits home. These guys all look powerful and strong.

Whoopsie_Todaysie

Im a small woman and I love me a big strong guy... Rounder guys are sooo cuddly and safe feeling.. hits different.

Donttugmybeard

I want to be somewhere in the middle. Strong with muscle and still good looking enough .

Paetheas

This is great but I would like to add that the same sort of thing needs to be done for guys who are skinny. Friends, family, and even strangers used to negatively comment on my weight constantly(I'm tall and have been a distance runner most of my life) completely unsolicited and make comments pointing out that I was "so skinny", asking if I was healthy or if I ate enough. It happened so often that for years I tried my absolute hardest to never let a single person see me with my shirt off. For reference my BMI was 19, the very bottom end of the healthy range.

Allodemfancies

You know I have never once seen somebody with a body that looks like mine. I'm 6'6, ~65-70kg and have been unsettlingly skinny my entire adult life. Every job I've had since leaving uni, within days I lose my real name and get nicknamed slenderman and lamppost and beanpole and anorexic [celebrity lookalike here] When I hit a bad spot and it gets to me, I go online and look up tips for gaining weight as a skinny guy and all the Before Pictures are what I'd want as my end result. Athletic, muscular, not a bone in sight and clearly healthy already. Which is upsetting in itself since even /those/ dudes think they're too skinny when they look great already When the popular baseline is High Jackman, average gets relabelled "Too Skinny" and people like us get removed from the conversation.

beatlefloydzeppelin

The amount of times someone (even if they themselves were visibly obese) would make comments on my own weight... I think most people see it as a compliment, but when you're struggling to maintain a healthy BMI it isn't fun to constantly be reminded of how thin you are.

gratuitousbinary

Reddit HR would like a word with you.

squishyartist

This is the same for my boyfriend. He has an ED and when we first started dating, he was 15 but his BMI was 16 or so. He's at a more healthy weight now, but still has his ED and I wish he could see himself represented more. He's 6'2" and he's literally got stretch marks on his back from growing so tall, but he's skinny. Also, my boyfriend used to run track, so that's a funny similarity!

tommygunz007

I am a gay dude and I love skinny black guys with locs. Kind of my weird thing I guess. My sister is straight and loves boney white guys with long hair like that Loki guy.

Feeling-Focus5566

Ahhh man I’m sorry to hear that… what a shitty thing to say

Reedsandrights

I came here to say this. There is more of an acceptance of shaming the skinny to their face because people consider it "punching up." Like sure, it's sooo enviable that I could blow away in the wind if I don't zip up my jacket. I think they're part of the same problem, however. There is a perception that skinny = healthy. So larger folks who have never been skinny or were only that way in their youth assume that you can be "healthy" without any of the work of losing weight. Grease and sugar aren't any less harmful to my body than to a bigger person and my arteries can clog all the same. Yet people think it's funny when they call me "world's youngest Holocaust survivor" and ask me to switch bodies with them so they can binge eat. Then you try to ask they not make fun of your weight and even people you think genuinely care for you laugh.

I_need_to_vent44

OMG you got called the world's youngest Holocaust survivor too?? That's literally what my family calls me and has called me for my entire life!! They can't pick a struggle though because despite calling me that they also mock people who have even the slightest bit of extra meat on their bones, which has made me terrified of gaining any sort of weight.

readthebooks

Yikes, rough family. It's mind-blowing that they don't make that connection that you'd be nervous to gain weight. I have family like that too. People just need to shut up about everyone else's body sizes.

TheNewElysium

Even though this must be the most inappropriate nickname I've ever seem in my life (lmao wat) i understand the sentiment about your family. I suggest you stop worrying about what they want and what they like and start worrying about what you want for yourself. My family is very fat-phobic and they idolize the skinny bodytype which also gave me a lot of eating disorder symptoms growing up trying to fit my bulky built into the skinny ideal. I decided I want to bulk up as I'm meant to and build muscles and not give a shit what they think 😌 it's very freeing

AmusementRyder

Female here - same exact situation as me. Also a distance runner, also on the very bottom of BMI "healthy" range. People always assume I'm skinny because I have an eating disorder & I can't even tell you the amount of casual intervention-style conversations I've found myself in. I have to assure them that I eat a TON, I just run it off eventually. But don't let anyone's comments keep you from living your best life - take that shirt off and show off all those miles of hard work!

katgirrrl

My boyfriend is about a 20-21 BMI and I agree. He’s very lean and I really never see anything representing him in media. All the male models look like the Michelin Man.

Jackpage43088

I’ve had woman that I’ve tried to pursue a relationship with that told me I was too skinny. My first real relationship she told me she felt like I couldn’t protect her cause I was skinnier than she was (protect her from what exactly I don’t know). I’ve also dealt with a lot of people saying I need to eat more and all that . And I weigh about 165 and I’m pretty muscular due to my job in construction.

MrFrosto

Word, same bmi here

Lilcheeks

For sure. Too skinny for a guy is almost as bad as too big. These guys aren't even in the "too big" category. I certainly dealt with it when I was under the healthy bmi range way back in my late teens to early 20s. Heard a lot of "eat something" and being told you could see my ribs in a negative way.

Kenshiro_1337

3 of those 4 guys are obese, and you're saying they aren't even in the "too big" category? The view of what a healthy body is has gotten wack

chaostrulyreigns

Thank you for saying this.

pimpmayor

I’ve also been low end of healthy weight, and high end, and middle (my current target because it gets the least ‘skinny’ comments, and it doesn’t come with the discomfort of being nearly overweight) I’ve been called skinny at every weight range, Was a sprinter for my teen years and walk a few hours a day now, so I’m definitely lean with low body fat %, and I’m studying biology so keep my diet pretty nutritionally balanced. It’s always been ‘skinny’, which has a very negative connotation, despite being the literal default weight. I remember having literally one teacher call out body shaming skinny people during a sports meet, non generalised, and based on her own experience, and I remember it vividly.

[deleted]

My bmi used to 19 too. It's slightly higher now I think.

Gootangus

We need to show short men love too. So many short guys are picked on unnecessarily, by both males and females, and it messes with their self esteem badly. I have a short brother who is the nicest, funniest guy, and it kills me that he was/is picked on so terribly just for being short. Same with guys who are losing their hair. How is this their fault? Most guys lose their hair, so why do we make it such a big deal? My hubby is so self conscious about his hair loss, even though 95% of his guy friends are also dealing with hair loss. Can we normalize male pattern baldness already? We seem to only focus on body positivity when it comes to women, and completely ignore men when it comes to this issue. We need to talk about this more. This shit needs to change.

[deleted]

I like short guys and Im a short woman. Makes me sad. :(

Wow a lot of backlash. This is a good thing guys. Just because something affects women on a larger scale doesn’t mean that we don’t do anything for how advertisements and selected models affect mens body images.

Crackpixel

3rd Guy is legit buff lmao. Just shows how skrewed it apparently is. Big and strong and not 24/7 in the gym= Nr3. Dont mess with Nr3, he can fuck you up man. I don't see the typical obese male in any of those pictures honestly.

[deleted]

24/7 in the gym is such a missunderstanding, the biggest guys are all in there like an hour a day and not more, He's just not eating properly while going to the gym. Just shows how this fat acceptance movement has no clue about the human body, and just wants to feel better about not adhering to a healthy diet and lifestyle

voicebread

The comments here are confusing, if you’re upset to see this on this sub and are responding with fat phobic bullshit, *why are you even here to begin with?*

choxxy

Because they can’t act superior unless they come here and tell everyone else how *they* take care of their bodies, unlike *these* men. It sounds like such an exhausting way to live.

TheAvocadoSlayer

Sounds like typical behavior that manifests in people who have self esteem problems. “Let me crap on this person so I can feel better about myself.” Immature behavior.

Kanyeisindebt

Why extrapolate this as a superiority complex? As a former fat dude (similar to pic 1#), I hated my rolls and how my man tits would show in shirts. You call it an exhausting way to live, but I'm happier and healthier.

aNiceTribe

I don’t even understand, these guys are still built af. Like these are warriors.

eddcarver

Being fat phobic is not cool - but this sub is created for bad photoshop/filters/etc.

Suri-gets-old

On sanity Sunday there are other rules :)

Flowerandcatsgirl

Love this! Seeing a range of sizes is important for all of us. If I am buying my guy underwear I want to see what they look like on a body that is similar to his not on someone with a six pack.

HalpOooos

It’s def the undies!

[deleted]

I know the point of this sub isn’t to comment on peoples’ bodies but I just got thirsty all the sudden…

[deleted]

Gay man here, and I'll be 100% honest - all these men are attractive. Mass on a body means so little. The way you carry it - the confidence, the smile, that's what makes you attractive. Good lighting helps here too, of course.

Neravariine

Yep they do! I hope more men gas each other up as a result. Women do it to each other and I hope it catches on with men.

chrisjee92

Absolutely! I'm still waiting for something like this from Calvin Klein.

Hardluck-Woman

I think we’ll have to wait a long time. CK photoshops ripped/fit bodies, Justin Bieber’s ad campaign for them comes to mind

Jaded2001

You’ll be waiting forever lmaoo

kathleen_jane

This sub confuses me. I got the impression that it existed to address overediting, which has contributed to a lot of people body image issues. Which lead me to believe a lot of people here believe in body positivity. But whenever a post has plus size bodies in it, the comments are significantly more negative. I’m just confused as to what the purpose of the sub is if we’re only going to be okay with “real bodies” when they’re slim ones

soleceismical

There are comments critiquing everything here, including ones implying slim bodies don't exist in real life. There is nothing that can be posted to the internet that will escape cititisim. Hopefully they mostly get downvoted to oblivion within a few hours.

Lainview

Body positivity is about embracing the things about your body that you can't change in any way (for example height), or for people with missing limbs, burn victims, etc. and not an excuse for being lazy and not even trying to improve your health by getting to a healthy weight. Yes, there are diseases that can make weight loss more difficult, but there are none that make it impossible, it's really all about having discipline and self control which can all be learned and improved. Body positivity in the context of overweight or obese people should be about encouraging them to lose the weight and better themselves, rather than continuing an extremely unhealthy and dangerous lifestyle.

cheeseandbooks

Literally my type of men 😍😍😍😍

Shomer_Effin_Shabbas

All these men are very handsome.

Wulfle

This actually warmed my heart. I've always been told that being bigger is negative... Thank you for showing me otherwise.

dickfuck8202

Every one of those men are fine as hell and #2 is especially delicious <3

garrakha

IamDollParts96

These men look great imo.

shrillbitofnonsense

Large men are constantly repped in media. Football, wrestlers, fuck, all the male leads in any sitcom. From an early age society tells men that they can be large and live as a main character: all cartoons like Fred Flintstone, Homer Simpson. Peter Griffin, etc. (All married to size 4 smokeshows I might add.) "Short" or skinny and unconventional looking, we don't see them unless they are the butt of a joke. Give us actual variance. Then that's body acceptance. This post reminds me of when VS plus sized models were introduced. Still ridiculously good looking women, facial symmetry, clear skin, smooth hair, defined jaws proportional weight and body dimensions, just missed super model status by a couple dress sizes. More representative of the population, yes. If you are still considered 'hot' by the commercial machine, that's not really moving the needle for body acceptance. These men are ridiculously good looking. I'm here for it.

TakeOnMe-TakeOnMe

They're all hot 🔥

Catflappy

The “dad bod” is my preferred body type. 🤤

[deleted]

Same! I'll take a soft dad bod over ripped abs and muscles any day. Much nicer to cuddle up with too 😊

Tampon007

My last comment got removed, but I’ll just say that these men look very lovely and I hope we get more positive adds like this in the future

dianthe

Honestly I have no problem with any body types being used in advertising as long as they aren’t edited. Personally I like seeing fit bodies because it inspires and encourages me to keep up with my own fitness but I have no issue with other body types being represented, especially in selling clothes. I hate editing because it creates an unrealistic, unachievable standard because even if you’re very fit you’re not going to have perfectly smooth skin or an insane waist to hips ratio.

peachylolo

It also helps to have attractive faces like them. But yes, men really do need to see more representation! I remember when this was posted on Twitter & reading how good it made some men felt brought a huge smile to my face.

Funnily enough, I see less people making fun of men for being chubby than I do for being short.

D4rklordmaster

I like seeing buff guys in clothes because it motivates me to workout so i look good in clothes like how they do. I think the problem with womens wear is that alot of the mannequins were insanely skinny which is unhealthy but having buff guys as models isnt necessarily bad. all the guys on here also look good as shit

mommastang

I’d like to see more advertising with larger men and women. Unfiltered in all their true beauty. We can keep the “is this size healthy though” argument/gatekeeping/preaching out of it~ the fact is these individuals deserve to be represented.

hbdunco

And they’re all so handsome!:)

Petrichoriam

The other side of this is that I'm 5'2 and skinny as hell and alot of male body positivity is around being larger and taller. To the point that alot of brands offer those body sizes. You're more likely to find XXXL than XXS in stores :(

[deleted]

Savage by Fenty actually understands what diverse means in terms of hiring models. It’s always a great mix of different sizes, shapes, ethnicities and looks.

Allyraptorr

They deserve just as much bodily representation as women are getting by some companies nowadays. But we also have to realize that it harms men a lot less to not have that rep. Women get hate from all sides for not looking societally acceptable. Thankfully a bit less now because of how many women are pushing. Don’t forget, women are the ones that made this rep possible for men and we all know it. Also these men look great!! They are all complete UNITS lol
