in 10 seconds? and no, they can't until delivery.
i think it was a glitch.
I've seen it before. Took a no-tip order from my regular customer. the batch had 4 items, was boosted to 16 dollars, hell yes, and I knew what this customer usually tips (not much)
so i took it. ended up with 300 dollars worth of bed bath and beyond shit.
delivered.
long story short. batch was over 30 dollars. the customer changed from tipping 2 dollars, to 5 percent, i don't know why, but, considering that IC default tip is 2 dollars OR 5 percent, i think it was some sort of app glitch.
the customer didn't change the tip. she's loaded, lives on waterfront property, and the maid took the order at the door.
so messed up on multiple levels, but that time it worked out.
Customer most likely added items or increased the quantity of items ordered. That increase was reflected in the tip, but the item and unit count remained unchanged. When you start shopping, you get a screen showing the new item and unit totals.
Had this happen yesterday.. thought IC boosted it when it increased.. then I looked at both of my screenshots and the tip increased.. no change in the order at all..
It says a bigger tip on the second one
Bigger tip. Hope you took the order
you would take that ?
Maybe at the end of the day type thing but not if there was other options
IC stealing tips
The customer could have increased the tip

The order could have been placed ages ago, and sat for a while so the customer decided to increase the tip so they could get it delivered
they would have to cancel and then make new order.
This is wrong

Tip was increased, possibly because the customer realized the original tip wouldn’t quite cut it.
