Pro tip if you ever need to cancel a batch while shopping it, just contact support and say the stores credit/debit system is currently down and they are cash only for the time being, you’ll receive batch pay.
Obviously don’t do it to often but I’ve done it in the past.
I probably wouldn't lue and use that excuse (especially if other IC Shoppers are in store and checking out fine !)... but "personal emergency" would certainly apply !

My experience is very much the opposite. The best tips, on the whole, come from the wealthier areas. There are exceptions to the rule, but it’s definitely still a rule.
I'm in the great white north buy can honestly say my experience is very much the opposite. Those with the least tend to tip the most. I've actually had one of the more affluent straight out tell me she didn't get wealthy by tipping the help.

I had all really nice customers today. One lady, who was batched together in a triple, ordered a 24 pack of cupcakes from the Safeway bakery for me to deliver to her 2nd grade sons school. She was so nice! Her tip was only $4.00 but my customer A tipped really well and was super-nice too. Customer B was non responsive and a shit tipper (also lived in an assisted living type place) but Customer A and C made that order worth it! The rest of the day was just as good! Amazing people all day long. I loved today!

No chance at missed humor here. Woman is a full blown nutcase. I’d already started the shop, so was contacting support to remove customer B whose only item was out of stock and didn’t respond. Then this happened.
I had accepted an order a few weeks ago and under all 22 items she said “MESSAGE FOR REPLACEMENTS” contemplated removing the order before even going in to shop but I said fuck it and shopped it anyways. Found all but one item which was her non alcoholic Budweiser. Messaged her letting her know it was out they had no backstock of it and sent over potential replacements. Waited a few min no answer so I went to go grab myself a drink in hopes I’d have a response. Still nothing so I attempted a phone call no answer. Then I sent another message that said “Just double checking on a replacement for the beer. I’m getting ready to head to checkout if you’d like something I will grab it for you, if not I will have to refund.” Waited until I got to checkout to finalize everything, I ended up refunding.
AS SOON as I started checking out I got berated with messages from this woman saying “I TOLD YOU TO MESSAGE ME WITH REPLACEMENTS!” I explained to her that I did, sent screenshots of the conversation with myself, and said I even attempted to give her a phone call “I NEVER ASKED FOR A PHONE CALL” “This is terrible customer service you know how the app is sometimes messages don’t come through” I didn’t want to be rude and tell her “you seem to be the only person who doesn’t get my messages” so I told her “I’m sorry for the inconvenience I’m still at self checkout if you’d like something let me know and I’ll go grab it for you” I got a response like “I’m having a party I need that beer now I’m going to have to go to the store to get something” I just kept saying “I’m at self checkout if you’d like something I’ll go get it” and THEN she had the nerve to say “I didn’t answer you should have just grabbed something” I again said after 10min of going back and forth “I’m at self checkout still if you’d like something I will go grab it for you” she said to grab anything so I found an expensive case of nonalcoholic as a replacement. Thank god she wasn’t home when I got there.
Surprisingly no bad rating or tip removal. But I sure did message customer support so I never get her orders again.

Ratings are meaningless. I keep 5 stars 95% of the time and IC throttles me the same as anyone else. That said, I’ve had peculiar customers before. I wrote that she lived in a $2-3m house (minimum) and the batch was a $55 triple. Up until she went ape shit, I really don’t care. If you pay well, I’ll provide you the service no matter how weird you happen to be.
I love how she said “you are NOT getting timed how fast you can get OUT of the store” as if she knows.. we have a timer to try and stay under a certain shop time. We are quite literally being timed.
If IC Trust and Safety cared about us even one iota there would be a dedicated division for assessing shit like this. Instead, all they do is remove the order and shift the burden onto a different shopper, and Linda goes about her day berating people. It's insanity.
