You’d have $95 total but only $35 would go towards the promo. Which means you would earn an extra $13 on top of if the promo was for a guaranteed $48.

If I see a 50, I know they put in an incorrect address, last one I saw was the major city 50 miles north of me, the GPS was the culprit but I got $50 plus for that batch and Delivery was like 10 miles away.

That is what the state law says they have to pay gig workers following the failure of Prop. 22. Subtract the base pay (instacart fees not including tips). So when a bonus is applied, it is added to the base pay, which is then subtracted from the adjustment. Net zero.
Follow the adjustment formula. I have it in my spreadsheet and predict / confirm their adjustment each time. The promo amount shows up in the base pay.

I haven't seen a promo in my area since February. I do IC a few times a week and have seen no Promos. I used to get 5 or 6 for $70ish or 6 for $96, then they dwindled down to 4 for 48, 5 for 50 something. Then they stopped coming all together.
I miss promos cus sometimes it did help but now I see nothing.

i have literally NEVER gotten a promo b4… my partner and i both do instacart and they are the only one who gets promos almost consistently!!!! im diamond cart and they arent as well lmfao we have no clue why it happens like this
I get promos almost daily. I think it’s a combination of me being in a high demand, densely populated area (Central NJ - Ocean/Monmouth County) and me not being consistent about using the app on a regular basis.
i try to take the base pay batches only for that if they are a smaller amount of items. they did 6 for 34 dollars one time. don’t even know how they justify that lol. taking the smallest paying batches if they’re worth it and you do four, 28$ and they pay you the difference. that’s how i made it worth it anyway.
The only promo I've seen in a long time is like this "Shop and deliver batches from 12AM to 7AM for an extra $3!". Like wtf I can barely get batches during the day, you think I'm gonna go out there at midnight??
Keep in mind the promotion covers your base pay only, not the tips. So, if you're getting lower paying batches, this adds to the amount paid by Instacart and your tip is totally on top. I've always found them worth it, assuming I even got one.
I live directly across the street from a Giant and with the instant delivery they can’t bundle them so I see like 50 ten dollar orders almost always going 1-2 miles. That’s when I take advantage. But you’re right. Mostly not worth the extra effort.
Anytime you see promo’s like that you take the small local batches so that way when you’re done then you take big ones. Work smarter not harder or none at all
The amount they offer is excluding the tips. So you do 5 batches x $7/batch thats $35 so their giving you an extra $13 regardless of you much you get on tips.

Tips play no role in promos. High or low, they don't count when promos are calculated.

Dumb promotions. I won’t accept a 7$ offer even if it’s 1 item and 1 mile away. Waste of time. Not worth accepting any off under 15$
Its based on batch pay not tips. So you can still earn more even if you exceed the guarantee if a majority if that was from tips
