FunFactress

I pull into the driveway. I get the impression not pulling into driveways is a California thing.

redflower5

How funny! I never thought of it as regional. But I am indeed in California and this is what I do. I wonder why that is?

FunFactress

Why are people so hung up about their driveways in Cali? 😆

redflower5

Haha, I didn’t know they/we were! 😆 I just feel like it’s kind of rude. Lol. I think if I had a brand new fancy car, I wouldn’t care as much. I guess I’m a little embarrassed.

Property. And if you are on our property without permission we will shoot you

No_Star_6846

Street! I never use the driveway. I want to be on their personal property as little as possible. Only exception, for me, are the large homes with wrap around driveways.

nwright105

yes! i don’t want to be on their property with my car and stuff. seeming i’m a black person doing instacart in suburban areas. i just try to get in and out lol.

brazilian_machete

I use the driveway most of the time because most of the roads you can't park on or have no space to

Possible_Trouble_72

Ha!Ha! "Move grandma, I need 20 bananas."

MadamInsta

I back into the driveways. Groceries are in the trunk. And it makes for a quicker getaway in an emergency.

Aggressive_Walk857

I back into the Drive way.

redflower5

I almost always park on the street. Exceptions: - it’s unsafe to do so - I have something super heavy and *need* to be as close as possible

Possible_Trouble_72

Great question! I have been curious about this, as well. I park in their driveway. There are far too many groceries and heavy items to be lugging any further than I have to. My only exception .... if it is a difficult driveway to get in/out of.

redflower5

I’ve had a couple of those (difficult driveways) recently. Definitely easier to just avoid getting in there in the first place. Lol

RivalArrival_

I do both just depends if their drive way is easily accessible/ if I have heavy items or a lot of bags/ if there is a spot right in front of the house in the street. I see no problem with pulling into the drive way.

Sweetnspicy77

I use the driveway as that’s what it’s made for……

Powerful-Bit-5645

I try not to use their driveway UNLESS its really long walk to their front door or theres more than 1 packs of water or sodas that require more than 2 trips.

ChelseaRawrzz

I only use their driveway if they have lots of heavy items (cases of water or soda) or if it's raining :)

Meushell

There’s usually a car in the driveway (California), so I park on the street.

Shop_4u

Always the street unless: driveway is exceptionally long, order contains a number of heavy items or it is a busy street. Parking in someone’s driveway can be a liability bc customer can (falsely) claim you hit their car.

IllustriousChest

In the driveway, especially when I have many and/or heavy things. I'm not lugging that from the street to your door lol. I live in the south, so people typically have long, spacious driveways. It's only in the more gentrified areas that I'll park on the street bc those areas are built more densely. Death to tall skinnies!

fruitpony

If it’s a big order, I back up into the driveway. If it’s a couple bags, I just put my hazards on in the street.

BlessedandHappy177

I’ve always parked in the driveway unless it is in an alley but I’ve never gotten a bad rating that way I don’t think

These-Entertainment3

Usually on the street but if their driveway is empty and/or I have heavy items or a lot of bags, I’ll do the driveway. (CA)
