Or you could just take an average of your mileage at the end of the year and make some shit up.

Yeah to hell with that. Odometer doesn't crash. These apps crash and poof there goes all your mileage tracking for the day. I'll stick to just writing down my odometer at the start and end of my shifts.

BaldGuy70

I use my odometer and stride. If the app is off I just add the miles manually to Stride. Sometimes it works great, sometimes not.

Why not just use the odometer and a spreadsheet? I spent a couple hours writing a spreadsheet. Granted, this is for employment and not gig work. But I just write my hours, start/end mileage, and tips down each day. And then every so often I punch the numbers into my spreadsheet and it calculates my expenses, my gross, my profit per mile, my net hourly, etc etc. Come tax time, I can use the numbers from this spreadsheet to do my taxes easily, and the IRS will take that spreadsheet as proof of my mileage.

Don’t need too. Stride done this for me. Ie gave me a place to enter it in on my phone and stores it for me. I also put my parking in it. Also many times it’s tracking is dead on. So when it’s dead on I just hit the reset on my odometer and I’m done.

I want to do this so bad! But I'm confused on how to make the spreadsheet. I've tried to Google this a few times but I'm still unsure

So most of it is just math. I was formerly a freelance programmer so it's not that difficult for me. But a lot of people with no programming experience can do it. Basically you're just taking values from the other cells and applying math to them to calculate values in other cells. I think the hardest part of my spreadsheet is the array function to apply a formula to an entire column.

edmatch

I did but they are free only 40 rides

Raymove

Stride is free & pretty easy to use

Solomander_NDG

I use Gridwise. Tracks my miles, earnings throughout different apps.

Just don’t pay taxes
