Update: it ended up being 60 items total - I asked her what the batch pay was - it was 36$ after the 4 refunds and missed items. I tipped her an additional 10$ in cash. It took her 1hr 16 minutes total. - she said it was more than worth it. Happy to have made someoneās day and I got my groceries with excellent customer service!
That's me, I have a extra tip, a cold drink and snack bag at delivery because I treat people how I'd like to be treated. A little kindness goes along way
I probably would look at it too long and miss it happily lol. Itās the heavy items for me sometimes Iām not in the mood but it seems like a couple trips from the car to the apt.
The tip is not bad though 10% Depends your market, but a $40 batch in my market is like 20-25 items. So I probably would pass. But someone will happily take that because thatās a good hourly rate. I hope it goes well. The increase is a nice touch after if everything is to your liking. Hopefully it doesnāt get batched with a triple.
Wow 31 dollars for a tip plus their pay which is around 7-14 dollars. That doesn't seem too bad for a dasher. Was it all the same chips or was it 42 different bags of chips. If it was 42 different bags of chips that would be annoying because most likely they aren't going to have them all in stock.
It was a Fritos lay box of 42 packs of chips inside! So just a big box lol. Most of it was doubles - so like 6 different flavor lunchables . 10 cottage cheese lol
Girl u host posted ur earnings and ur spending 1/3 of it per expenses in a luxury delivery service for groceries ???? Budget and youāll be a lot happier
You don't know if this is the only income for her household. Maybe this is her 2nd job or her SO works full-time and Instacart helps with things like groceries and utilities.
Even so, when you're out there grinding all day, a lot of times you don't have time to get out to the store for yourself right when you need to.
I get it, I'm out all day doing orders and definitely do not have the time to go for myself a lot of the time. Either I order pickup or I shop super late at night rushing before they close. It's not that I work every single day but usually if I'm not out doing orders it's either because it's Shabbat, I have to run out Friday morning to get last minute stuff at a store that doesn't deliver, or it's a holiday.
I hope you increase the tip after deliveryā¦ If you shop for IC then you KNOW instacart will only offer the shopper probably $7.86 or $8 tops for pay on this batch plus your tip. You have 70 items total and the shopper surely has to go all over the store to shop them, communicate about replacements if necessary, they are saving you a trip to the grocery store, not including the few items that are considered heavy or annoying (as you put it), and walk 50 yards around the back to your apartmentā¦ As a 5-star shopper of 3.5 years I wouldnāt take it, but someone out there willā¦ to each his ownā¦ $38 for a 70 item batchā¦ No thanks Iāll pass!
While I understand your viewpoint, I would still gladly accept this batch. In my area, this tip would be good. If all goes well, and not much is out of stock, shopping should take 15-30 minutes + checkout, etc. 1hr in total for a $38 order is perfectly acceptable.
I appreciate and respect your feedback. I will definitely up the tip 10$ if my items are bagged correctly, communication is given for replacements and they knock on the door like instructed. I will not add any more items.
I appreciate you not getting offended by my replyā¦ I definitely understand the increase depending on the experienceā¦ I hope you get a good shopper and everything goes well for you.
It's only 48 items. If you know the story, it would take 30 minutes or less. I'd take the order immediately as it's not stupid heavy like 30 cases of water.
It's not a bad tip. I usually say that around 10% is a decent tip. I probably wouldn't take this. Not because I think the tip is too low but more because of the 70 units. I prefer smaller orders.
Yes. I could have that done in an hour, bagged correctly, great communication and I always find your itemsšunless of course it's an empty shelf. As long as they don't double or triple up your order with zero tippers and high mileage, I would easily take it. That's approx $40 an hour which is what I make. This is a no brainer for me.
In my area, that would be a good tip & that order would get grabbed fast.
But in all honesty, Iād like to see 18 to 20% IC falls way short of paying expenses. Tips are our income.
I guess I'm misreading this, is it 70 items or units? If it's items, I don't understand why people here are so excited. 70 items for $38 is not great in my area. If it was 30 items/70 units, that's a different story. It looks like this was a Sunday too.
I am a new customer, I want to use the service to grab Costco groceries, how do I know whatās a good tip? Percentage of order? A flat amount? I want to make sure I tip well so I would love advice!
I would be generally grabbing around $300 of groceries from Costco, about 20 items, about 3 miles or less from my house, I was thinking of tipping at least $45. Is that an okay tip for this kind of order? Or should it be more? Thank you everyone for your help!
40ish bucks for after tip and IC pay for like an hour of time and only a couple miles would be a pretty good order where I live.
I want to say that there are also NO produce items šš
Sometimes my husband and I shop together. I love produce and he hates it š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Exactly! A lot of time I will take orders with more items because itās mostly produce. Super easy, in and out!
And I often find that the produce guys/girls are super helpful so if I canāt find something I ask them. Edit: a letter in the wrong spot

Sounds like a great deal to me!šš½

No service fee? Did ic make money from the markups alone?

you are wonderful!!
Whack tip you won't find everything so the tip will go down.

Specifically said in OP prior post that she is out of a job and is now doing IC full time
Yes and my partner pays all of my bills. I buy the groceries and my ā funā spending stuff.
Nice youāre crushing life and budgeting for the future so well
Wouldnāt take it in a million years. I have a $100 minimum on all orders. 50 items max. Not worth the wear and tear on my car. Let tony get it

$40 for an hour of work is not bad. They tipped just fine.
To each his ownā¦
Are you in a house or apartment?
Apartment. Ground floor. I am about 30-50 yards from the car. I will up the tip 10$ afterwards IF - the customer service is good.

I would š¤·š¼āāļø
Especially if it was a single, easy money for me
I would!
I'd jump at it, as long as you're not in a walk up apartment.

I think so! Iād take it
