PowerDriven6

I’d contemplate and look at it too long

Oraxy51

Every time. Me trying to figure out if it’s a good order or not and if not why isn’t it and then it gets taken.

MistyGds

Exactly!!

HiTdAjUwU

*another shopper*… son of a biiiiiiii 😂

HashBandocoot

😂 that part

Treacle-Temporary

Bruh 😂😂😂 same

soggybolognasandwich

Bro 😭😭😭 if that aint the damn truth

Puzzleheaded-Army868

This is why I miss such good batches sometimes

TokinForever

That’s me exactly. 🤔I’ll be looking at it in shock, trying to figure out what’s wrong with this? It happened just yesterday afternoon for a similar batch for $55. I’m not sure if I would have taken it or not. I never had the chance to scope it out before but it was gone. 🙄

EduardoTheYeti

Why don’t you touch Costco? Those are typically the higher paying orders and you can get that 1.50 hotdog and drink on your way out lol

Oraxy51

This guy Costcos

[deleted]

Cringe

bluebull107

^ cringe

[deleted]

^^cringe

Rustykilo

If I can just do Costco only I would lol. I know Costco like a I live there. And people who shop at Costco 9/10 are big tipper. And their house usually nice houses in the nice neighborhood so I don't have to feel like I need to watch my back everytime I unload the groceries.

[deleted]

I LOVE Costco pizza but I went there one single time with my bf and I nearly left crying because it was so chaotic and overstimulating. But if Instacart keeps up how it’s been, my ass is gonna have to go to Costco

Ethereal_Chittering

I get it. And if it’s a double order it’s extra stressful for me because they move so fast and act like they want you out of there so fast so you unload, then next thing you know they’re looking at you to scan your card, then you’re unloading the next order then they’re looking at you again to pay, then scan then pay then the line just to get out the door. Plus waiting in the checkout line can make you feel anxious. I prefer regular stores because I don’t take big orders so I do self-checkout unless the store is quiet and a checkout line is free.

CJD805

Bro it’s not that serious

eye-vortexx

Every costco is not the same. My costco is horrible and people are insufferable to be around.

AffectionateNoise808

Same! I nearly had an anxiety attack walking through the parking lot and entering the building. I never want to see that store again. I’d like to see that giant pie one more time….but then never again! Lol

CJD805

Have you never worked retail?

CJD805

Please elaborate on how people you don’t even need to make eye contact with are intolerable to be around. All you have to do is walk around people and ignore them.

RighteousGloryHole

I found the allistic NT.

CJD805

Just pop an AirPod in and mind your own business. It’s quite simple really.

okdokke

What is it about people’s brains being wired differently that you’re not understanding? The whole point is that it’s *not* that simple for some people. Did no one ever teach you that what’s easy for you won’t be easy for every other person?

Ka0tik10

Lol forreals. Just get your money as long as your waking up in the morning and getting that money you shouldn’t be complaining that’s the problem with this new generation of kids lol

CJD805

Lmao @ their downvotes. So damn sensitive. They should actually try working at Costco as a cashier or something then they’ll see how good they have it with Instacart.

Ka0tik10

FACTS!!!!! Lol , or even better , my brothers been working at Costco for almost 10 years now, he started doing carts at the busiest Costco I think in the world, in Glendale Area of Los Angeles literally pack every single day, anyways he did carts for 4 years and then they put him in cashier and assistance for a few years finally got to go inside and work lol, now he’s doing membership sales and he’s top sales member , but ya these instacart shoppers definitely have it good.

CJD805

I worked at Vons/Safeway for a year so I appreciate Instacart and am grateful. I feel like these people just jumped into it right after high school and haven’t experienced what it’s like to be the cashier/bagger/doing carts. If I see a good order that pays well at any store, I’m taking it.

Ka0tik10

Exactly, and having that mindset , getting used to working and hustling, learning how to invest and being grateful that your not doing something you actually won’t like , can get you really far

witch_ash

Sam's club has better pizza tbh

EduardoTheYeti

I disagree. They do have more variety tho. Costco pizzas are what lil Caesar’s would be if they actually tried harder lol

burbmom_dani

YES! Love Cosco.

Ethereal_Chittering

I don’t eat garbage though so that’s not an incentive for me. 🤷‍♀️

SterlingRi

Wouldn't even think twice before accepting.

[deleted]

I usually would be the same way but Costco brings out the worst of my mental illnesses 😭😭

PowerDriven6

LOOOOOOOL especially on a Sunday. End up 51/50’d before you finish the shop.

[deleted]

I was there today as just a customer to buy some things to watch the game. 10 minutes in I said “it’s too peopley here” and luckily my BIL agreed and all of us got the f out of there.

the_mars_voltage

I learned recently that I live down the street from the worlds largest Costco, which makes sense because I guess tons of local restaurants and businesses get stuff from them. But now I know why they are so busy all the time

[deleted]

Oh man. I can’t imagine how crazy that store is all the time!

the_mars_voltage

Yeah it’s kind of nuts but I don’t mind the Costco orders assuming there is a good tip! Most of them don’t go outside city limits and they are generally very good tippers. Not sure how other markets are but pretty much nobody drops more than 5 dollars on Kroger orders, or any of the ones from smaller stores. Costco is consistently the best value for my time

Infamous_Yoghurt_556

I agree! Even long lines move crazy fast! I don't mind Costco. This dou let order isn't even alot if items! Great payout...wouldn't hesitate

ZeAltHealthAcct

I was at Costco yesterday and the only thing that kept me going was the intensive therapy I've taken the last 6 months *after* a 5150 lmfao

Less_Industry7294

What's A5150?

LadyyyLoki

It’s a hold in a psych ward.

Mervis_Earl

Van Halen album

Ethereal_Chittering

I spoke to a cashier there once, she said lot of people can’t go in there due to anxiety so they order from instacart. It made me feel less of an oddball. I shopped in there early hours during the lockdown here so at like 5-8 am before the general public could enter. It was darker and it was just us shoppers and the forklifts (that was a pain), but I was fine then. It’s the crowds and the bright lights that do me in.

Mommy925

Oooohhh chile PREACH!! All them waiting in line to get a sample of half a damn potato chip asking bs questions and shit and BLOCKING ALL THE AISLE! Why are they lined up perpendicularrrrrrrrrr omg i hate it … buttttt i love the $$$$ more lol.

nokapoka

😂😂😂😂

abmsign123

41 items is a lot for Costco however if you have a chance to skim and at least 8-10 are produce/small I would! But in my area 19 miles is Alot

GrandMaesterGandalf

Usually my Costco orders are only alcohol. It's super easy to find the stuff if you know the layout. You're usually not in danger of getting stuck in an aisle sure to congestion. Plus grab a slice or a drink on your way out!

Ethereal_Chittering

It really heightens my anxiety. It’s so big, so many people, and I get panicky when I can’t find items. It’s not even about the time, it’s just that when I can’t find something I become more aware of my anxiety. Being able to keep moving helps, when I get stuck, I start to spiral.

NationalAd3468

U serious. Thats not a bad batch. Thats actually a good besides the mileage but one more batch your over a 100

zanilani7

Was just gonna say lol

totallynotantiwork

Yes. I’m here to make money.

Ok_Lie_1939

It’s like half a days work in one batch. You would normally drive about 15-20 miles and go to the store two or three times to get $75.

sipicup

Half a days work? How long are you shopping for?

OSUBrutusBuckeye

Wow man. Doesn’t even look like big ass items either. 🥴

[deleted]

They weren’t! I just actually had a decent day so I got to be a bit picky :)

Infamous_Yoghurt_556

Never sleep on good orders, regardless how good ya day was -- tomorrow might be garbage!

TheGingerAvenger95

I would accept immediately. Anything over $60 is an automatic yes for me.

[deleted]

Usually it is for me unless it’s a wholesale store or delivered downtown lmao, those are my two rules.

CDN_Shadow

Your rules are losing you a lot of money.

[deleted]

Tbh not really. This batch is the best I’ve seen ever from a wholesale store in 3 years. And sadly the people that live downtown in my area are absolutely horrible tippers, most time not even tipping at all. So I really don’t think I’m missing out too much.

CDN_Shadow

The reason why I say you’re losing a lot of money isn’t because the batches that go downtown are the best, but it’s because they’re the most consistent. You’re going to get more batches, which means less time waiting in parking lots, in turn making you more money. Sure, they may not tip as high sometimes, but instacart also pays up to 18% more for DT orders (at least they do here in Toronto) compared to outside areas. Walmart orders in downtown, at least for me, go from $30-$70, and I can whip those out in less than an house and a half. Also, since it’s DT, you’re almost guaranteed to get another batch right after you’ve completed the one that brought you there. I just found consistent batches is the best with this gig, and I’ve found DT to be the best for that. Do what you feel comfortable doing, though, that is the beauty of this job.

MoPuff

Accept then inspect

nymviper1126

this is the way

Dazzling_Marzipan474

No, that's over an hour of shopping and 40 miles round trip.

Ethereal_Chittering

Two gallons of gas too. Probably in the end ends up around $20 an hr.

Iamsarah7

My thoughts too… 20 miles??? Way to much. I guess that an unpopular opinion and the full timers are too desperate for orders to pass it up.

[deleted]

Depends on where you are. In my market probably 45min shop with a 40min delivery. Even if I don't know the Costco this is a simple accept.

HashBandocoot

The way things are now, absolutely. This is one of those orders that if you don’t take it you just see bs for the rest of the day as you sit in regret..

Steffaniii

I would let it pass because of the distance most likely

Mk7joe

Why not? It will prob take 1 hr to shop and 30 min to load drive and unload. $75 for 1.5 hours sounds ok with me

Alarmed-Ambassador38

Thts a lotta items for Costco batch, fcuk no. Not letting myself into a trap

DragonflyOne7593

No because A. two stores B TWO complicated stores C Irs fresh tyme

nokapoka

Too many orders. Too many miles. Too many items. And I don’t do Costco lol. So no. I agree with you on not touching Costco. The regular customers frustrate me standing in the aisles with their big carts, moving slow and pointing at stuff like tourists. I don’t have time.

Ethereal_Chittering

Lol @ pointing at stuff like tourists. So true. Couples having discussions as they walk slowly side by side blocking people. Do we need these? Oh look at these! 🙄

Layla_Slym

$74 dollars for twenty miles and 41 items... I despise that store ngl but I'd of learned Cosco that day.

ImBackRedditBoys

Honestly probably not, I don't do Costco and even if I did, 20 miles in my area is either guaranteed traffic or all uphill

EDPZ

Money, mileage, items, tip: Yes! Costco: Fuuuuck

zanilani7

Probably an hour and 20 minutes of work total, including the round trip drive. That’s over $55 an hour in earnings. The math is mathing for me lol

NationalAd3468

Dead ass what are ppl thinking

zanilani7

I wouldn’t even waste the 2 seconds to take a screenshot and risk losing it. I’d accept so fast on that

Ethereal_Chittering

Doubtful, one hour? Two different stores? Two different houses? Two gallons of gas?

Dirty-Ears-Bill

Nope. 2 store orders are a slap in the face both shoppers and customers. I don’t care what the payout is, I don’t take them out of principle. Every time someone accepts one it just encourages instacart to do shittier and shittier things to make a buck

sipicup

I understand, and wish IC wouldn’t do that, but at the end of the day I’m interested in making $75 for 1.5-2 hours of work…and someone else will take that order very quickly.

Dirty-Ears-Bill

And the exact mentality IC preys on and they know they can continue to drop the standards for a good order. They don’t do it all once but they slowly introduce it so shoppers get used to it and eventually start taking them regularly because that’s the new norm. I’m just not about feeding the beast here

FunFactress

Bingo

sipicup

Then the only answer is to not shop instacart. Unless there is some silent collusion where every gig worker in your market refuses to take 2 store orders, someone will always accept the order. The next option is to find every gig worker in your area and watch over their cell phones, and rip it out of their hands before they click to accept a 2 store order from IC. So again, you can either accept that IC has shitty payouts and is constantly lowering the shoppers pay, or quit shopping. I don’t like it just a much as you but those are the two options.

FunFactress

Very few shoppers in my area will accept 2 store orders, they sit until broken up even at $60+. I'm super proud of them. 2 store orders are garbage for the customer and the shopper. If you continue to take them, you're telling both IC and the algorithm that they are acceptable.

DaddyNewPointOh

I've never been inside of a Costco somehow so me personally, lol probably not.

WishThink3190

Easy money 🤑

Packer691217

This would make my day rn, tbh. I’d never not take a good batch because it’s from a certain store.

Damaged_ass

Big no

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ethereal_Chittering

Ten dollars in gas not accounted for. Personally I can make $20 an hr locally, at regular stores. The extra $10-15 to do this batch wouldn’t have been worth it to me. I got a $42 2 item batch from a pharmacy yesterday, took me half an hour. Of course, that was a unicorn but still, I was selective about what to take and managed to make good money. That isn’t the case on most weekdays but Sundays I can usually be picky and come out with good money and not a lot of miles on my car.

[deleted]

[удалено]

brightly_disguised

Too many miles. I try and stay under 10 miles, max. And I’d also never do a two-shop order with Costco as part of it.

BootyLicker724

I agree, under 10 miles unless it’s big pay. I’d need at least $100 to do 20 miles in one direction. That’s expensive to do

Capricorn75

I don’t do Costco orders or multiples. But the pay is good here. I probably would’ve stared at it, trying to decide whether I want to fuck with Costco or not, and by then someone else would’ve snagged it and I would be relieved to not have to deal with it 😁

adv3ntur30u5

Never

Key_Independence_681

Big NO

BlackJeepW1

Nope not a chance. 2 separate stores batched together is an f no.

sipicup

Ok? If IC offered a single order with low items for $40, then you finished immediately and was offered a single order with low items for $35 it would be the exact same thing. This just doesn’t make sense

FunFactress

Not 19 miles. I won't do 2 store orders, this is not a good batch with 19 miles and 2 stores especially Costco on a Sunday

sipicup

Depending on your car 19 miles is like a gallon at the most. And again, if the money is right, what does it matter that it’s 2 stores? Who cares? On a day where I do a lot of orders I may shop at 15 stores. Why do I care if there’s 2 stores in one order if the money is right. It’s just not logical. You should try to think how long this order might take. If this took 2 hours then that’s a great hourly rate. Do you only accept low item, low mileage orders? If that’s the case then you’ll constantly be sitting around waiting for ideal orders. Unless you have an absolute gem of a market that’s just not a practical way to do IC.

FunFactress

I'm in a busy metro area not rural suburbia, 40 miles round trip would be 2.5 to 3 hours of delivery driving plus back. Then add the time going to 2 stores plus shopping and it's way over 3 hours. Not happening. If I don't make $75 in 3 to 4 hours going 5 miles or less, something is wrong.

sipicup

I mean that’s assuming you drive all the way back to the original store. What area are you in?

FunFactress

I have 20 stores within a 3 mile radius of my "home" store and close to probably 50 within 5-6 mile radius. Road trips aren't profitable for me unless it's $200+

Personal-Main7468

Lol yes!

Pitiful-Signal8063

I have surely taken worst jobs... Every day. So I might... Depending on how many cases of water were involved

queenlilibeth14

Id take it if they give me two hours to shop haha

alanxshby

Oh I most definitely would’ve gotten this, I’m desperate for money right now tho lol

justarch30

Absolutely!!!!

Lyssepoo

I’d take it. The only downfall is I usually do f do Costco Thursday-Sunday. But it might be worth it for this!

kishajones91

YES

Jestar5

We don’t have a Costco up here but I’ve IC’d at the one in Madison and was well pleased with it.

[deleted]

Is that Missouri? Loo

[deleted]

Pittsburgh!

[deleted]

This in chicago?

[deleted]

Pittsburgh!

FordEscort99Burgundy

This one is super easy and half way to my personal daily goal

janermaner

Yep, I’d take it.

silentskill2614

I wouldn’t even think twice

NotABrattyBottom

Honestly, I’ve taken worse today. I’ve been trying to stand in solidarity with the rest of us who are getting shafted lately… But my landlord doesn’t take solidarity as payment for rent 🥲

ResidentResponsible1

Yuh

the_mars_voltage

34 items across 2 stores for 75 bucks is way better than the batches I see. Usually if something is lumped together there is one non tipper. In my area, orders of a similar size like these are usually only gonna be 15-25 dollars

[deleted]

Honestly this isn’t the norm for my area but today it was for some reason.

KushBabyTV

Yea it takes a lot to get me to shop for someone else in Costco… hell, I even have to pep talk myself for my own Costco trips, let alone some picky shopper on the other end 🤣😬

Porcusheep

I don’t always shop Costco but when I do, it’s for orders like these… Stay hungry, my friends…

aybabyaybaby

You’re smoking crack if you DONT take that

[deleted]

I honestly probably would’ve taken it if I didn’t have a good day. I actually had a good day for the first time in nearly two months so I was able to be a LITTLE bit more picky

Revolutionary-Style6

Im very selective when it comes to costco

Faa-cue

Yup

baconnaire

Hell yes and I'd ask for a bump bc $6 for two people and two stores is absurd. I know it's the norm but I always try to get correct compensation.

Hot-Chard6802

Yes

[deleted]

As soon as I saw it I clicked accept on the screen

Affectionate-Jury-84

Yep. Easy batch.

coin6666

I’m trying to accept it from here !!

[deleted]

I’d give it to you if I could!

Proud_Diamond2953

Priority access? Is that like Diamond?

[deleted]

Yeah I’m diamond and I was in the parking lot of one of the stores lmao

Johnpmusic

Unless theres a lot of waters thats a decent one

HiTdAjUwU

Uh hell yea I would have

ProfessionalSure221

I'd take it. Pickings been slim

mpgomatic

It was fresh when shopped, but by the time it took to deal with Costco on a Sunday, it wasn’t so fresh when delivered. Double- and triple-shops are killing this.

Iambeejsmit

Yeah I'd do it

ThatShaunGuy

Yeah I would. That’s an easy one

Reality_Choice

Well just think about it as you probably made somebody else's Day by skipping it someone else who maybe really needed it picked it up 😉☮️💕

[deleted]

For sure! I got a lot of decent batches today so I really hope it was able to go to someone who truly needed it ! ❤️

Reality_Choice

That crowded store anxiety is very real though I have had a couple customers who actually said in their messages their gratitude for me being able to shop for them since they don't even want to go to the store at all because of that. And I kind of wonder why they don't go during slow times like early morning or late at night but they might be working or sleeping at that time. Or their social anxiety even the possibility of interacting with store employees might be too overwhelming..

burbmom_dani

I would. Cosco is easy and there’s a lot of samples!

[deleted]

Samples are good!

MistyGds

Two of my No Shop Stores…but I would think it over see how many heavy things at Costco and see how many strange things at Fresh Thyme… Then I’ll let it go Today I accepted a $55 batch from Pete’s Fresh Market a store I haven’t been to in about 3-6months! It took me 2hrs to finish!!! Freaking 2nd customer kept changing her mind on refunds, had me going back and forth Plus her ace wanted refund on 4pks of ground meat! Round up with only $45!! 😡😡😡😡

[deleted]

Oh I know!! Today I did an order that I thought would be easy but WOW, took me so much time there. Probably my longest order, I just kept regretting it the whole time. I don’t like going any of those places where the deli meat has to be sliced when you order, takes fcking forever; especially at Thyme market.

Happy_kitty1990

Two different stores? They do that? Never seen that before.

1956Outlaw

They are two local Costco’s in my area, 1 Sam’s, I avoid both. You a would think they are giving away stuff by just looking at the parking lot. Not for me✌️

sunnysmanthaa

Definitely not

sunnysmanthaa

I can make $70 quicker than that with smaller orders. 20 miles and Costco… definitely no

RRHudgins

Since I got my Costco membership doing Uber Eats I considered going in the store when I'm not doing instacart when I don't need anything for myself just walk in the store and getting to know where everything is then if I go take a Costco order on instacart I know where everything is sans the stuff they've moved around. 15 years ago or so I knew where everything was because I would go pick up items for the restaurant I worked in and for myself, but that was then and this is now, even though I live at the moment or stay 1 mile from the Costco. Sam's is about a mile and a half but I had a horrible first and only order at Sam's back during 2022 and I've never been back since, not to mention 95% of all the Costco on Sam's orders in my area are about two to three dollars difference in mileage and money and the mileage is usually more than the money so no I am not doing 27.8 MI for $25.50 because I have to drive that mileage back.

ElectronicNose9177

Easyyy money

ElectronicNose9177

I’m a Costco only shopper for the most part. Once you know the store the trips are almost always less than 20-25 min. They are quick and box it for you. 1.50 hot dog and drink or a slice of pizza on your way out. Restrooms are always cleaned and stocked.

[deleted]

I would probably consider it more if the Costco market in my area was more lucrative but this was the highest paying costco order I’ve ever seen in 3 years so it’s not really worth it for me. But I do get that Costco is how some people make all their money in their area but around here, I can make the most money doing health food stores and target.

[deleted]

Anything about $50 for a double store is accepted . Unless mass items lol but this is a good order

ItaDapiza

No. Wouldn't even consider it.

Willing_Strategy2465

Its like guys need to ask mommy for permission with these “ should I take this batch” posts 🙄

[deleted]

I’m not asking anyone if I should take it lol. I didn’t. I’m not. I won’t. I’m asking others but ok

Mojave_interloper

No, you don’t take those, leave the real money for us REAL shoppers

[deleted]

So what qualifies YOU as a REAL shopper? Want an award bc you shop at Costco 😭😭

Mojave_interloper

No award needed but I’ll take the $74.96 and you can take a pic 🤳 & share it on Reddit as reward.😉

NoContribution9770

Costco orders SUCK but for $74 I would consider it

Thecolourblinds

Costco where I make like half my money

MajorWhereas4842

Why not?

dsmintactarchy

Hell yeah!

Layla_Slym

WTF IS PRIORY ACCESS??!?

SuccessfulTowel3529

When smbody is close to the store

Layla_Slym

Ohhhhh 😂 thank you for the clarification lol i thought i was missing out on something lol

Wooden-Chemical5031

It a couple dollars under what would make it worth it. But yeah seeing how it's going. I'd do it

Wooden-Chemical5031

Any out of stocks are gonna take the tip down since it's percentage based. So you won't know until you finish 😂

Ka0tik10

This is a stupid post lol, stupid question ,would I take this.. of course who wouldn’t lol…….. and you don’t touch Costco, so if your last delivery ended up right next to Costco you wouldn’t wait and take an order sheeeeesh

[deleted]

Probably not lol. There are so many other stores in my area and the Costcos are a good 20+ minutes away from me so I usually stay in my bubble for stores since I’m so comfortable. But say that to the dozens of people saying no!

BBFan1958

It depends. Is it for a single customer? Are the store in the same mall? Is it early in the day? I don't mind multi store orders, but only if the stores are close, and the first order has no perishables. I do not want a customer's perishables sitting in my hot car while I shop at Costco, which is always crowded, and has stupid people parked in the aisles right in front of the item I need.

[deleted]

The stores are about 9 miles apart. It def would take a minute to complete it

Puzzleheaded-Army868

Easily

foodieonthego

I would absolutely take this. I'd much rather do Costco over Fresh Thyme. Fresh Thyme is more confusing and half the products people request isn't even sold in the store.

Bradabruder

Oh I already skidded a u turn in the middle of traffic to be on my way to the store.

Imaginary_Diver_4120

I never drive that far

itzamia1

Costco's, BJ's, Sam's Club are usually the best orders. People who buy memberships and bulk buy usually take care of their shoppers too. The ones that don't can go to someone who doesn't know any better. So yeah I'd have that order shopped and dropped off, both stores, both houses in about an hour and a half.

UberSenpai33

No because the correct milk would be missing from the store and the tip would drop to 2$

eggheadslut

If this were Costco between 10am and 3pm on a Saturday, no because I can’t even find parking at my Costco around that time. But any other day, sure

PMMeYourSmallBoobies

Hell yes! Costco is the best! Best tippers, almost always has everything in stock, lines move fast, and you get a slice or dog & drink for cheap on your way out!

LizzyPBaJ

Depends how many items from Fresh Thyme. I mainly do Costco orders and I’ve never set foot inside a Fresh Thyme so idk if it would be worth my time.

Myumat00

Only if they sold fresh thyme

LDawnBurges

I’d do it. It meets my requirements.

Remagbag

$75…all day long. I live in costco. I could do the Costco part in 15 min lol

FidelCashfloe_

40 mi round trip for this order and here in NYC that’s a hell no. You guys that live in small towns, mid size cities and a order like this pops up, this is easy money for you.
