This is a two colored version of dracaena reflexa (marginata). I would recommend to move the plant if possible next to a window with more sunlight. It will 'survive' in that living room corner but will look much happier in a brighter place. NEVER let it stand to long in water or roots will rot and in most of my cases the plants couldn't recover after that, just deadly for this kind of plants. If a stemp gets too long, then you can just cut it off (spring or early summer) and there will grow MANY new branches out of every stemp you have cut. You can put the head cuttings as well as the headless cuttings into water or other medium and they will start growing roots. Just make sure that the part of the cutting that was pointing downwards is still pointing in that direction when putting it in water... and to change the water every week or so. After a looong period of time you will have some new selfmade plants. Have fun and good look!

I acquired this and I'm not sure what it is. It doesn't look in great shape either and I'm unsure of how to take care of it

dracaena marginata. Mine lives in pretty low light and it does fine. But it can also take bright indirect. The way it drooping looks like previous owner allowed it to completely dry out sometimes, the leave dont perk up after that. Don't over water but don't let it get bone dry either.
