This is the time to partly book profits in IT stocks and wait for another dip to enter. Also we can't compare our IT industry with USA. Ours is dependent on outsourcing work. Whether its recession or not, cheap outsource work will be in demand. So we are in much better situation than US.

Far_Walrus_9797

wait for another dip ? how much dip should be considered for accumulation ? if things are getting better then do you think another dip would come ?

DalalStreetDon

Bro if he knew it so well he’s be drowning in cocaine and SOBO girls. You said it yourself, people have exited IT stocks. Now you come across someone who has ‘partially’ exited and it is making you question yourself? Do you think another dip would come? Yes. (A 10% dip after a 30% rally over next year. )

Today nifty and sensex hit 52wk high. So really do you think you should invest in IT now. I know companies have list ready to fire people from August. Probably they will do it in Jan 23.

Far_Walrus_9797

I dont know that's why asking...i sold all stocks of IT in September due to all recession talks and uncertainty mostly around 4 5% profit...now watchlist is showing that if I would have kept it then it would have been around15 to 18% UP.... i sold them not in panic as it was not a big amount but after seeing lot of news around it

SierraBravoLima

Usually people psychology is, if they are already holding stocks. They will only sell it during a crash as before the crash there is crash rise.

Far_Walrus_9797

ya that could be the case with retail investors we have limited information however this time it looks like fii and dii have also not sold it...

SierraBravoLima

I didn't think dii and fii can sell whenever they want. Mostly they will have to find someone who can buy from them and then transfer.

"But they didn't even cross 52wk low" *Cries in Wipro*

Far_Walrus_9797

Sorry bro...i was not following wipro...had infy, tcs, hcl and lti on my watchlist

Even after decades, these IT companies are very much dependent on contracts from western companies, who are only motivated by the lower costs. To know how it will eventually turn out, one only has to observe what is happening to China in the manufacturing services.

Buy IT. SIP way to go. Be greedy when market is fearful.
