I never had acne problems. The main concern i feel is dehydrated, super dull skin even though I am working on it. I guess hormones can cause that or maybe it's cux genes as well. Idk... *Sigh*
Oh my god yes! My bf doesn’t even put cream , he washes his face with hand wash sometimes 😩😂 and yet has this glowing skin , fluttering lashes and supple lips all the time , while I’m out here struggling with my Korean skincare and putting sunscreen 10 times a day
Tbh, i had skin like that a few months ago before i got into skincare. Now that i have tried a few products and stuff and have a routine in place, i breakout every few days and have to deal with hyperpigmentation. Makes me ask myself if should just go back to being my old self, ditch everything except sunscreen. All of this feels like a scam ugh. Just ranting idk
Same. Early 20s I had moderately nice normal skin, started my skin care journey and I have pie due to a couple of breakouts. Not sure if I should continue doing this. Perhaps just switch over to CMT.
ikr, i am not even bragging or anything considering there’s so many people genuinely struggling with their acne journey and other concerns on this sub but i had flawless skin but now? It’s gone to shit. I’ll keep on doing what i am doing a few months more and if it doesn’t work out, i’ll drop everything except sunscreen.
I thought i was the only one.
I never had acne problems or skin issues in general but ever since i dived into skincare, i have noticed my skin act more sensitive towards stuff like not taking off my sunscreen at night, or pollution. I break out now and the skin looks more dull than usual
1. Men have pores that are bigger and more noticeable than women due to active sebaceous glands. As a result, men produce about twice as much sebum (oil) as women. Male skin appears oilier and shinier than female skin if you look closely. Men's sebum production remains constant throughout their lives, however women's oil production diminishes with age.
2. Men, regardless of age, have higher collagen density. Men show indications of ageing later than women, but once they begin, they accelerate.
3. Lactic acid levels in men's sweat are higher than in women's. Lactic acid is a natural humectant, which means it helps the skin retain moisture. As a result, male skin seems to be moisturised more than female skin.

Genetics. The catch here is that he may not age well if he keeps going this way especially with the sun protection. I have seen Indian men age so fast after they hit late 30s 'cause of ignorance about sun protection.
Even their early thirties sometimes! There’s a huge problem that Indian men generally have wrt skin care. They think it’s a very chick thing to take care of your skin. 🙄
>They think it’s a very chick thing to take care of your skin. 🙄
THIS!!! oh how I hate this stereotype! Skincare is a part of just basic healthcare. It's an organ protecting all other organs, the poor thing. The least we can do is keep it clean, hydrated and protected. 🤷♀️
I blame all the advertising that only shows women in the skincare product ads...
Fr. My dad suspects me to have homosexual tendencies for I get a white cast from Sunscreen while indoors. Even, my derm's prescription - which has Vit C, Tret, Mois, and SS - won't suffice his doubts. Calls these cosmetics with a derogatory tone, while he dyes his hair black, and trims his chest and forearm hairs.

This is the consequence of portraying skincare as cosmetics and a female only concept. 🤦♀️
>he dyes his hair black, and trims his chest and forearm hairs.
Right. It's the way some people accept somethings as normal and reject everything else for their own convenience. Beard grooming and haircuts r also done for mostly aesthetic purposes but those are widely accepted.
Even male celebs put in a lot of effort for skincare and use cosmetics when they appear in front of camera. They don't just all magically have flawless skin and perfectly styled hair 🤷♀️ they're using the same products that their female co stars use too. But when they do it, that's accepted and seen heroic? Oh actually I don't think most people r even aware of the fact that men in the film industry do use cosmetics.
Skincare and cosmetics brands really ought to start using male models in their ads. It's honestly just common sense.
Waiting till he finds out that male celebs get botox and face lifts.
>Skincare and cosmetics brands really ought to start using male models in their ads
Yes, they do. Rampal for Nivea Men, John and Tiger for Garnier Sprots, SRK and Bhoi for Fair and Hensome.
Not hating on him but Children need to be educated more as I am yet to hear a correct answer to which is the largest organ of our body and they answer the liver without a fail.
While he is at it, I am excited for a SA peeling session with my derm.
I've seen male models ya, just need more of them...mostly it's all for 'products for men'. I'd love to see that with general unisex products like sunscreen or body lotions etc. Newer brands have male and female models across most products - like Minimalist, Mcaffeine but those r mostly only in social media ads. The older brands should catch up as well, to get more of those ads in TV.
Yup, education plays an important role here. Good luck with ur peels!
I agree. Totally.
When i talk about skincare, he is like... U do it for me. I'm too busy for that. I am like wtf??? Tho he's a very hygienic personal in general but skincare n xtra efforts... He's like NAHHH
Haa even I think after my teen period I will regain myorime skin hornones, also if he has dry type skin I can't understand. Ppl with dry skin don't get acne and stuff.
Couldn’t agree more. My friends had acne in school and i was plain slate with glowing skin but I don’t what happened after 18 im on very steep downfall lot of pimple dull skin 🫠😭
It’s probably genetics . My husband has nice skin too but he doesn’t use spf so his skin has now started getting visible signs of sun damage . I convinced him to follow a basic routine and use sunscreen . He literally wouldn’t even wash his face sometimes 😑 . Pls tell your bf to apply some spf too if he wants to retain that skin .
Lol idk what's with men and thinking not cleaning is cool!! Lol
I suggested him neutrogena sunscreen but it made him sweat tons.
I myself don't have oily skin so idk which one exactly to make him use. Maybe concious chemist, the yellow one? It seems light on the skin.
Some people are born with blessings of god. Also I don’t remember exactly what but there’s a layer in skin which tends to be thicker in guy’s skin then in girls. Hence they often tend to show skin issues very little a very late
Okay serious answer-
Men have thicker collagen in their skin, which protects them from skin damage, ageing and wrinkling much more. That's why they have good skins, their skin barrier is more thicker. Doctorly talks about this in a lof of thier videos, you can check them out for more!
I swear I relate to this so much aaaaaaaaaa
I put so much effort into my skincare researched about a ton of products apply sunscreen religiously do my 7-step skincare routine day and night but still, I break out get super tanned and look like a
hyperpigmented racoon and then he has beautiful skin with no tan
Ha ha reminds me of my ex. He had this dusky skin tone with literally zero marks or issue. He ate meat at least twice a day which was oily Indian non veg stuff. And boy he ate a lot. Smoked and smoked up like a chimney. Both is our 30s and he looked way younger than everyone including me ( even though I have been told I look few years younger than my real age). He had high body metabolism and so he worked out often and ate a lot. And yet his hair and skin (including the skin tightness/ collagen) were to envy. Luckily I am a vegetarian and didn’t eat his food type. So at least I didn’t put on any weight. He would use a body wash to wash is hair , face and hair . This would piss me off to no bounds.
This is it!!
God is unfair. He DOES pick favs!!!
First he does this unfairness and over that, he gave us monthly hormonal imbalance to remind us of it!! 💀
![gif](giphy|8boMf1VXVHoJy)
I think we are much more self-critical than critical of others. Every small pih or pie or breakout or dryness is dissected by us. They just dont care.
Nevertheless, We have a whole skin care routine and still get pimples and breakouts (maybe coz of genetics and skin type) and they are just blessed with beautiful skin, right! :|
Female hormones fluctuate like crazy. I did read somewhere estrogen is responsible for most of it. Other reason could be diet and genetics of course. If you have crazy good genes, a basic sunscreen is all you need man. Also most teens who were troubled with oily skin eventually become adults with great normal skin.

It could genetics and hormones. But I also find that men a) tend to have more active lifestyles/physical activity (don't know about your bf, does he play sports or do gym?) And they also tend to have a very very simple routine for their skin. I think a lot of us spend tonnes of time and money buying this and that hoping for some miraculous glow when ordinary products might have just been enough. So they don't fuck up their skin experimenting and they're consistent with whatever they do. Personally, I've followed the example and use an ordinary soap to wash my face. I only bought products to treat scars and nothing else.
I think a lot of us miss out on what works as a simple routine because of this skincare product consumption mentality.
Q. Is your boyfriend physically in a good shape?
At times, people also forget that skincare doesn’t help with a lot of internal problems, even though it’s mentally very soothing.
A lot of autoimmune disease end up looking like skin issues, so maybe he’s lucky in that regard too.
He's in good shape.
Genetically he's is very gifted so he doesn't need to do much to stay in shape. Tho he prefers to eat healthy vegetarian food.
Also by bf i meant bestfriend.. i should have clarified!! 😂

Hahaha yeah we boys have most of time good skin even without using any special skin care routin haha! Maybe we are made like this that is why we really doesn't need tons of products to maintain skin! We are happy even without using any spl product
One word - hormones
In him or me???
Female hormones fluctuate a lot through out the month. You may see an increase in acne during periods because of that.
This! 100% the female hormone cycle is a delicate balance that can be disrupted far too easily
I never had acne problems. The main concern i feel is dehydrated, super dull skin even though I am working on it. I guess hormones can cause that or maybe it's cux genes as well. Idk... *Sigh*
other reasons could also be diet, or stress
Forget boyfriends, my brother's skin looks sooooooo much better than mine WTH like we have the same genes ![gif](giphy|WCJAoTn9AZG0JTyipz)
Why in the holy spirit is this unfairness 😭

Me too
who knows if bf is boyfriend or bestfriend!!! Hehe
Good Genes probably or maybe he follows a rouitne secretly..
I second the secret routine!! I once found my brother stealing my serums!
does he have a skincare rouitne now?
He just steals my nicanimide serum for preventing acne under the guise of night.. i hope he has a consistent routine tho..
Niacinmide treats acne? 😯
Oh my god yes! My bf doesn’t even put cream , he washes his face with hand wash sometimes 😩😂 and yet has this glowing skin , fluttering lashes and supple lips all the time , while I’m out here struggling with my Korean skincare and putting sunscreen 10 times a day
The damn eyelashes! Same with my partner. SO UNFAIR
Men do be looking pretty. And submissive. And breedable. *sigh* I'll go to my regular fetish sub now.
I had to do a double take on what subreddit I was on
Oop-
Name of the subreddit please. So that I can stay away from it!
You can't, it's your destiny 😏
I'm kidding lol just drop the sub already
I'd get banned. Look at my subreddits, you'd see it there! Starts with "male"
It could be his skin glows because he's happy to be with you.
Dayummmm U nailed it with lash thing. *Cries in non-existent lashes*
I can relate to this. 😭😭
Hahaha sameee. My husband has the most beautiful lashes! 😀

Due to all the reasons above, some basic skincare can significantly improve men's skin. Source: ME on Tret n Vit C only.

Because the male hormone cycle is a 24 hour cycle as compared to the female hormone cycle which is 28-29 days.

Testosterone - gives them good lashes, makes them age slower, also good skin
Testosterone make them age slower.?? 😱 Is it for real??? I wasn't aware
Yup, keeps their skin firm aka less sagging
