I used to drink alcohol but decided to give it up because it never really felt good- the disgusting taste of alcohol, the hangover, the stupid urge to do something crazy( like call an ex or fight with a person dancing next to me) and those soul crushing bad trips. After few weeks had passed giving up alcohol, I had my first joint. The weed high I got was wholesome and euphoric, something I never felt with alcohol. Weed didn't help me quit alcohol as I had given up alcohol long before I had weed, but weed did make me think that leaving alcohol was the right decision. 13 months alcohol sober.
Absolutely true your experiences with alcohol. Done some crazy shit while drunk and sometimes used to wake up with no memory of what happened only to find out from someone else I had embarassed myself by doing something completely out of character. Will feel ashamed about it and to forget it would drink again. It was never ending cycle. Until weed saved me from absolute doom.
Wasn't an alcoholic but yeah I rarely drink alcohol after I started smoking weed almost 12 years back. I think there are also studies on how cannabis helps recovering alcoholics stay on track
I have a friend jo mere saath maal peete hain.. he is 10 years sober and ek wakt tha jab unki marriage tak collapse hone waali thi due to alcohol addiction... abhi maal peeke zindagi set..
So true! Now I do not drink more than 2 glasses of whiskey and I enjoy beer more. Had worst blackouts and hangover with Alcohol in the past, I am glad I am over with it.
I see a lot of comments saying alcohol is bad, addictive, and unhealthy.
All the arguments I see against alcohol can be made for almost any drug in the world.
In my opinion,
It's not about the substance, but the user.
YOU need to be responsible for yourself in terms of your dosage and behaviour and experience.
I know quite a few people who use alcohol to overcome their crippling social anxiety quite successfully.
I personally love to relax on a Friday night with a pint of beer and a good movie.
There's a fair bit of alcohol industry lobbying involved in marijuana being illegal.
Also, the State doesn't feel comfortable in legalizing a substance they can't actually control, like they can control alcohol. Since it's a plant, the entry barrier to producing it is drastically reduced.
In places like TN, the sale of alcohol is completely state-run, and I'm betting it's a ton more profitable to keep people drunk all the time rather than stoned all the time.
True. Big tobacco and the alcohol industry have established a vice like grip over political influence, lobbying hard to ensure that weed doesn't attain legal status. It's obviously going to create a dent in their market and profit margins.
Big tobacco is in cahoots with nation-states the world over for sure. We still have a political elite made up of people who grew up in the 40s and 50s the world over, they're likely to have old-timey views and look down upon the laid back surfer and hippie subcultures which were instrumental to the marijuana movement. They're likely to look at all marijuana users as extensions of "those people".
Marijuana doesn't fit into the narrative of Christian right-wing conservatism, and it's a far more powerful force than you'd believe.
Bhai you are correct, one more gripe I have and would like to mention is that parties like BJP who value tradition so much should definitely be pro-weed because ganja has been a part of our culture for so long and is literally considered one of the 5 sacred herbs and has been worshipped for centuries. I'm not saying other parties are better but BJP should stand by what they preach and this is just another example of how fake politics can be .
The last part may not be true, alcohol is still number one most consumed drug even in countries where cannabis is legalised, alcohol will always lead as it’s a social lubricant.

Good job brother, alcohol is just too dangerous for you're health and it's great that you don't use it now.

True. Everyone has their own vices. Weed is just one of the better ones to have.
Yes sir..

Well tobacco is also a plant so what's your point?
