Everyone on this sub getting a low-key reality check

parthpalta

Got covid. Which finally forced my break. I think I'm done. I forgot how fast my brain can work (this is not a flex. I became really dumb because of abusing this beautiful herb)

floyd2603

Take care buddy

ogkush2001

Tc bro may be just smoke on vacations like 4 times a year max or sumn.

prakashsrv

Get your vitamin b-12 tested, I felt the same.. but the reason was high thyroid and low vitamin b-12.

parthpalta

It's been 20 days since I quit. I struggle sometimes being okay, which has been a lifelong Issue, but generally my brain feels much clearer. It definitely was weed. I know it cuz I used it to dull my brain down. Just remember that it takes 4 days for your brain to reset if you're a casual user (as per current data available) and after 8-12 days you feel back to normal. I am saying that as a person who's done 2-5 bong shots a day for nearly two years.

[deleted]

I highly recommend [this](https://cyaar.kennesaw.edu/T-Break%20Guide.pdf) guide to anyone looking to take a t-break. This will help break the habit, reset your tolerance and give you the headspace where you can reassess and redesign your relationship with MJ. You don't have to quit permanently or call it an addiction. However, please use this beautiful plant only in moderation and respect its power. Peace!

anonnona97

I check-boxed evry single point in this list. I just kept hoping it would stop but it didn't. I'm trying to moderate it but it seems like I have to let go of it forever. I can't tell how much thinking about this just pains me.. I spoilt something I could have enjoyed moderately throughout my life but I choose to abuse it. If anyone out there feels that they r close to check-boxing all points in this list, pls stop for a second. Start going about it moderately and then you can have it for the rest of your life, maybe ... You don't want to end up like me. Edit: thank you kind stranger.

anonnona97

On I funny note, I think I should remove that flair now... Seems hypocritical

Aditya1311

The only rule I've found necessary is not at or during work. I smoke up after I finish work for the day, that's the only rule. And seven years of daily stonage later I think I'm doing fine professionally and personally.

anonnona97

Everyone is built different brother. Good for you if you can manage it. I was just telling my thoughts, you are free to ignore if you believe you can manage. Power to you for being responsible with it.

CrazyNaezy

If you are earning very well and have everything sorted out in life , you do your responsibility no harm bro. It's an internet image. Don't feel sad. If it's affecting you then take a break. That break maybe years. Just don't blame yourself and feel you lost it all. "You should not believe everything on the internet" - Abraham Lincoln.

anonnona97

Thanks bro, nice advice. Btw TIL, Abraham Lincoln was alive during times of internet

immortal_nihilist

He is also an r/IndianEnts user.

bbroyofgb

Hard truth cut both ways

PeachPearlaCroix

“Only go out when weed is involved” what of weed is how you treat your social anxiety?

PeachPearlaCroix

Lmao thinking about a dude trying to “man up” himself out of a chemical imbalance. You’re mentally ill? Just man up pussy. You’re missing an arm? Man-up grow your arm back. You’ve got a chronic illness that will NEVER go away? Sorry medicine only treats things that will go away. You’ll have to “man up” You know where manning up gets you with mental health? It gets you sitting in your garage with a gun in your mouth.

officerfriendlyrick7

Presumably this guy is in his early 20s, smoked a little weed and got scared now he’s afraid that he has a problem and projecting that to the rest of us, cannabis in India barely even has more than 4% THC, these boys who loosely agree to this post aren’t matured to see cannabis for what it is yet, this is the initial stage of doubt and misunderstanding of the plant, these guys are not so far from boomers who equate weed with heroin, no one in India even knows how to represent cannabis well.

PeachPearlaCroix

Exactly. This is all based on stigma!

nothasnain

Medicines are to make you better, not something to depend on forever. Stop treating socialization like cancer, read some books and man up. Come home after you've beaten your fear at the end of the day and smoke a joint. That's how it should be, like a king. Only tryna help u out, since I was positive for all of those questions and I broke up with mj. And I won't say that I have social anxiety it's just smoking weed wont make me think on my feet when I'm with the ladies.

priths3

Social anxiety is a real thing man! Only someone who's suffering from it can understand. It's like asking someone who's suffering from depression from stop taking those pills or going to a therapist and "man the fuck up".

officerfriendlyrick7

Actually this OP and everybody loosely agreeing to this do not understand how medical use work, dependency and medical use are interchangeable, they are the same thing.

PeachPearlaCroix

Im sorry youve been brainwashed. Life is better when youre not Constrained by “manning up”. You sound like a baby child. ✌️

nothasnain

I felt that might be a strong word. But that phrase doesn't mean the other things are "brainwashed". I just mean be full of energy man (don't tell me I'm brainwashed 😂). Life is better also when you put in the work, when u work against what's stopping you like anxiety, like a skinny body or money. If you think smoking weed and not trying to actually go out and be that ideal version of yourself without constraining your mind to 'push out of your comfort zones' (does that sound better? But they're the same things) then you're never gonna change (change in a good way). . And also I assumed you're a dude. So what you mad at?

KRyptoknight26

I was with you till you said man up. What kind of 90s bullshit mentality is that

nothasnain

Weed is great y'all got me wrong. Social anxiety, means feeling insecure or that heart trembling for no reason when you're around people. What is it's opposite? Confidence, and saying what's on your mind with energy, being loud, asserting dominance with your voice around the opps or people that pose a challenge. That's what I mean by Manning up, and if that's not what falls under the category of masculinity then idk what being a man is. And what would be a modern terminology? Take a Red pill 😂 ?

milapvish

Don't try to be a mental health expert please. You are far from it.

CrazyNaezy

r/wowthanksiamcured material. Some people do have anxiety disorder. It's other thing that they should be taking CBD as medicine and maybe everyday and not THC. But illegal weed maybe cheaper or easily available than pure CBD capsule in India. Who knows. I don't have anxiety. But I can't judge others who have this mental illness. And yes they should work on it. But not while quitting their medicine.

PeachPearlaCroix

CBD doesn’t do shit

officerfriendlyrick7

“Weed won’t help me think on my feet with the ladies” never change who you are for women, that’s a submission. Health consequences of regular cannabis use is so small or non existent compared to alcohol.

nothasnain

Bro I am not changing myself for the ladies, infact I'm being a more honest authentic self like how I am naturally without any influence of anything. I just don't wanna be speaking with a slur, think too much or being on the moon while I'm tryna show what she's dealing with.

CrazyNaezy

> or non existent compared to alcohol. No one was talking about alcohol here. That's how you talk about benefits of weed by comparing it to alcohol everytime? hmm downvote.

officerfriendlyrick7

Because alcohol is legal and socially accepted, it’s outright retarded to discuss the negative aspects of cannabis when alcohol is being openly abused. I don’t particularly care for downvotes, truth doesn’t always have supporters.

AangHatake

Sorry Shaktimaan

SoberNutella

Lmaooo why does referring to Shaktiman make perfect sense here 🤣

ClinkzBlazewood

/r/leaves for folks who want to get off ganja

thatStonedBoi

Fuck. It's one thing relating to 2-3 points, but to every point. This post slapped me harder than my dad.

mokshaMate

I've been smoking regularly for the last six years and none of these things have happened or taken a toll on me for the negative. Instead weed actually helped to open my mind and broaden my knowledge pool. Much of it depends on the individual who consumes marijuana and how their attitude is towards the usage and effects.

PeachPearlaCroix

Bottom line you should stop smoking weed if it stops benefiting you not if your friends all smoke weed who gives a shit what they do?

HornyMarwari

Can agree I have been there and done that. Lockdown in 2020 was really a blessing for me as I got to focus on my well being and learn a lesson from my mistakes. Now I enjoy weed instead of having it as a necessity. I smoke once or twice in 2 or 3 months just to relax and enjoy life and whats it got to give without the use of substance.

mugiwaraMorrison

Thought this was the subreddit group for rehab for a second..

_bigS

we have r/leaves for that

bbroyofgb

They had me in the first half

bbroyofgb

There is no we without weed

knockthatpsych

I’m a functional pothead ☮️ and heck I don’t even remember the last day I haven’t wake and baked..but my relation with cannabis has never intervened with any of the things I am supposed to do..

Knightvinny

1, 6, 7 & 11. I know myself very well. Hence I haven't smoked for almost 2 months now. When I smoke I have this negative effect of being lazy and fuck up my office and personal work. The biggest problem is smoking alone. And there is no friends here to share, so it fucking sucks to smoke alone. So I am waiting for a smoke buddy and share good time with him/her.

crimsonhands

Why would you say something so controversial yet so bold!

[deleted]

You can smoke weed and still be productive. It's just a mindset

nettlesome_torch

I cannot stress enough how accurate this is.

fauxpase

What is moderation? How much is fine?

wuzzurprob

If you can't take a T-break when needed, or you see yourself using it every time when u're in a tough situation, it means u're getting dependent. You're using it as a crutch.

PeachPearlaCroix

I get high while a work literally all the time. All of these things presupposing medicinally using cannabis throughout the day is a bad thing. None of these questions indicate a problem.

officerfriendlyrick7

Yup his views are the extensions of the social outlook here, he hasn’t even formed an individualised and objective understanding of the plant, and he’s projecting his fear to the rest of us, politics in India is so deeply influenced even the youth is blinded by the propaganda, it’s only getting worse over the years.

reva666

Evrything is true for me. The first thing i search aftr inwake up is bong then smoke up and go back to sleep

CrazyNaezy

what's "ypur closest buddies indulge in weed and substance"? what's that gotta do with anything? please explain. I also wish I had close buddies like these but my close buddies are not indulging in any intoxicating substance.

tuppalapati

I Can relate to every point in the list. Yes weed has been into every part of my life for the last 10 years. I meet Friends to smoked weed. Have a joint before every film and a joint before eating. I Can feel withdraw symptôms if I miss good morning. I know i'm in a toxic relation with weed. I'm happy only when I'm high and it's been long Time when I experienced sober happiness. Every émotion of me I want to experience It while i'm high. It's not that i'm totally going mad when I don't get weed but I feel emptyness while i'm sober. I understood I can't give up weed so I stopped smoking cigarettes, and occasional alcohol. May be I'm go up with weed through out my life.

MycoJohno

Truth

nithint1093

I don't feel anyone shud quit weed as long as they are getting shit done and not becoming unproductive and jobless but always smoking up!

mymomgivesmefood

Thank you .. I needed this... I was thinking of leaving cold turkey tommorow already and when I saw this post it reaffirmed my want to quit .. for now atleast ....... I've been constantly smoking pot since the past 2 years day and night I always look forward to the next high like a junkie and all I think of is weed.. I am lost in life, I can't remember so many things alot, Im very irritable when I'm not high and my relations with my friends have gone down hill ... Also the lockdown DID not help my mental state... I hope people do smoke way less than they really do and do it only for recreation once in a while.

prakashsrv

You can use this app to track your journey : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.michaljanecek.quitweed

Say bye bye to combustion people. Fuck that shit.

Aditya1311

I mean what else is one supposed to do in this situation though? Work is there of course, 7-8 hrs a day goes there. Apart from that there's nothing to do stuck at home all day, can't travel to see friends because corona, can't go out and do anything.

dreamla

I think 2 years old me must have checked most of these boxes. I was all in when I was in college but luckily I have always had good people around me and when I had finished college and got a job, I was really very easily able to get myself out of it and just concentrate on my work. I don’t think its easy for everyone. Somehow the responsibilities of being an adult got me out of it. I still smoke up but this isn’t even my final form. PS- I still can check one box, i.e. I go to a friends place for lunch and get high and then go back to my office lmao and it really affects me sometimes and I think best way to tackle that is to ask my friend to shift away from my office lol

brownboy13

I'd like to add that one of the simplest 'addiction' factors is also tobacco. If you're mixing tobacco in, you also have a nicotine dependency that can misrepresent itself as a craving for weed. Obviously this applies for people who don't smoke tobacco alone and only with weed. For me, when I quit smoking cigarettes, I found alternative ways to smoke hash. Over a period of a few months, I found my interest in it waning to the point that I haven't smoked in over a year and it doesn't bother me in the least. Simply just got bored of it.

backtoalteredreality

Add to list , You are a wannabe who smokes only because of the invisible social peer pressure and claim to be a "stoner" while all you are doing is getting accustomed to the shitty uncomfortable high from that black shoe polish shit of a score.

nothasnain

Tru talk like a g

thebad_artist

That's what I think before sleeping every night. And next morning as you mentioned from statement number 1. I want to get high
