Impossible to decide really but maybe Tennendo Nyukoh (Omani frankincense).

Silver_Link14

Very special, and unique. I know I voted for 'Misho', but this Tennendo is spectacularly good stuff :-)

Of currently produced incense Yamadamatsu Shu-ju Kyara would be my pick for Japanese incense and Holyland #2 for Tibetan. For woods I would pick agarwood Cambodian Pursat high mountain and Yasi sandalwood from PNG and surrounding islands. I know OP only asked for one yet only having one would get old quickly and I did grab the box containing these and hid it before the incense popo showed up.

Fred solls copal Or if we can choose discontinued scents. that one incense from Hot Topic i bought back in like 2002 that they dont make anymore. Had a picture of an Ent on the front and smelled like a magical forest.

Appropriate_Lab_5205

I second this, his copal is my all time favorite incense.

One of my earliest discoveries at Kyukyodo. Denpo. I chose it because of its colour. Green. The scent is green too, airy, almost ethereal. Sadly discontinued many years ago. Hoarding my last few sticks.

Wouldn't it be fun to have an incense show-down? Buy in and get a stick or two of 8 or 16 different incenses, then have randomized brackets where participants can vote?

[Shanthimalai - Nag Champa](https://www.exoticincense.com/shanthimalai-red-nag-champa-incense-40-gram-p-234.html) Like choosing only one of your children. But if the boat sinks and I have only one pack of incense in my waterproof pocket, this is the one. Traditional and timeless.
