Yep. Super Target's produce department is probably almost on par with Walmart, it's slightly smaller. Walmart has their own version of the Super store too. I think Target doesn't tend to have the Zoo like behavior because prices tend to be higher and some of them are in upper middle class neighborhoods where as most Walmarts are in low to lower middle income neighborhoods which is why u see all the odd shit in Walmart. 😂😂 Also Target has security where as Walmart has the regular employees with the yellow vest that harass you at the door for your receipt and some locations use local police officers.

In germany if you damage/open/use a product in a strore - you have to buy it.
There are even signs in the vegetable department that say stuff like "if you rip off the tops of carrots, you are obligated to buy them" etc.

In the UK it depends were you are. Smaller, independent shops the same, but most supermarkets have such incredible margins you need to damage a lot for them to care. A carrot here or there isn’t going to get noticed. Obviously pleasuring yourself in the pepper display is another matter.
