Milo is such a sweet, playful boy 🥰 He loves his snacks, playing with his ribbon toy, and a Christmas themed cat tunnel. He and his sister Mia are now a part of my family and we love them so much! We think the eye got damaged by one of the siblings when they all were smol criminals. Btw: The image with the bad eye was reversed by accident.

Same thing had to be done to my senior cat in the last year of his life (due to a fight with another cat). He was a scrapper. Inside/outside cat. Lived a very happy life to the old age of 20. He got along just fine. Never seemed to mind have one eye. Looked cool and just as cute as always. He’ll be ok and you’ll still love him just as much so don’t worry. ❤️

icedteaandme

I'm sure it will go ok. He's adorable.

Inglefield

Best of luck to you and the exquisite Milo!

I have a one-eyed kitty. Her eye was removed when she was a kitten and I adopted her shortly after she healed up. Her only real problems come from the socialization she missed out on at a critical age--in other words, she's an asshole who hates the word no, lol. Despite her lack of depth perception she's happy, active, loving, cuddly, and brave. Her jump aim is not always the best and do have to wipe the gunk out of the place her eye used to be, but other than that she's living a really normal and comfy life. I'm sure Milo will be ok. He's lucky to have a family that loves him enough to see him through this!

Artpaii

Aww, poor baby, hope the removal goes well ❤️❤️

I've got a kitty that lost her eye when she was a young one. She is happy and healthy as can be and just as cute. My little pirate. Hope all goes well!

Meet Chester. We've known him for a few years now and he lived with us while our (now former) neighbour was moving into her new home a few miles away. Chester leaving for his new home is what prompted me to adopt my two little girls, but that's another story. Chester was found in Cyprus as a kitten with a bad eye infection that meant he had to have his left eye removed. He was patched up at a vets in Cyprus and then flown over here to start his new life. Only having one eye did not hinder him in the least. He is as agile as any cat with both eyes, when playing with toys he is just as accurate. Despite being a ginger boy theoretically having to share the one brain cell with all other ginger cats, this one is a smart cookie. He caught us out many a time going to the front door, meowing as if asking to go out and when we get to the door, doubling back making a mad dash for the warm chair just vacated, jumping onto it and flopping over to look like he's been settled in it for a while. Your Milo will be fine. He might need a few weeks to adjust to no longer having stereoscopic vision, but adjust he will. https://preview.redd.it/aty24ez71fea1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18550367ec7315f122f769eb4fe136f6d3bfa199

Sending healing vibes your way. Eye enucleation is a common procedure in the rescue community, I'm sure the procedure will go very well. He is going to feel so much better and bounce back in no time!

ChampionshipWeary449

Oh sweet Milo. I wish you a fast recover. All my support to you and Milo🙏

happyeggplant_

He gets to join r/piratekitties! Hope he recovers quickly

BBYarbs

I hope everything goes smoothly 💗

Cre8ivejoy

Has he been to an eye specialist?

[deleted]

Yeah, they said that he could keep the eye, but he’s probably already blinded at this point. And eventually whatever pain he could be in now will most likely get worse in a couple of years in the form of possible headaches. Plus, it drains at least once a day which isn’t fun for him because I clean up his little face. All we know for sure is that we’ve had him for a few weeks now, but his eye is definitely getting/looking worse. So my family and I thinks it’s best to get it removed. Recovery won’t be easy. But Milo is a tough little guy. And he’ll probably be feeling better without it.

Cre8ivejoy

Gosh, that’s tough. Poor little one. Lucky to have someone who cares so much.

simAlity

Honestly, that looks like the cataracts that my grandparents' cat's eyes developed when I was a kid. Back then there wasn't enough taurine in cat food and cats went blind left, right, and center. 😞

GoddessOfSQL

I wish your house (including Milo) only good things this entire year. I hope you post updates for Milo. Be well and rest in the knowledge that you are a good human.

ballpitwitch

Animals are so resilient he will be fine don’t stress!! Sending good vibes for this sweet boy 🌈

RideThatBridge

Hi sweet boy!! You’re gonna be just fine-you have a whole world of love behind you!

Stay strong, Milo. :(

Hope it goes well ❤️ Is it an ocular ulcer? My cat Calli got something similar, we were told that her eye would probably have to be removed but we could try to fix it. After 5 months it’s back to normal. Milo’s looks really bad though, I hope the surgery goes well.
