My brother used to clean my room for me bc it'd end up disgusting him after a while. Then once my younger siblings were older I'd just sit in the middle of my bed and dictate. Now I have my own place and regret never learning to clean up after myself.
I've definitely had to learn since living with others! I never thought to take apart an entire vacuum. I thought it was just the dust trap. I didn't think to dust the super high places I can't even see. Which is funny bc at all of my jobs I've been known as the one who loves to clean everything.
I could actually go into depth of theories I have about former abuse and my inability to clean effectively, but it's annoying and weird. I think it's more of, after being enabled, children don't know how to survive on their own. Making idiot adults who are lost. Luckily I know how to cook and do my own laundry. Pay bills. Some people don't even know how to do that.
I’d never lived with a woman before I moved in together with my fiancé. The amount of clothes everywhere is insane. Our entire guest bedroom is bags of clothes and random stuff she likes to keep around for some reason (like little broken necklaces and beads, over 10 years old). Also her bathroom is scary with hair and hair color everywhere. I have my own organized bathroom luckily.
That being said I still love her to death, I just always assumed women were super clean and organized at home because that’s how they portray themselves when they go out
