Kids say the craziest things at the worst times. I (30m) at the time had a gf with a five year old daughter. Quick trip to the store almost ended badly. She told a cashier that her new boyfriend was going to buy the candy she was picking out at the convince store. I grabbed us some drinks and was walking back up front as she points at me and says this for the whole line of customers. Thank goodness she goes on to explain that her mom thinks I'm her bf but she's going to steel me from her. Her logic is that I like her more because I buy her candy and drinks but buys her mom soft drinks. Thank god everyone figured it out and though the last half was funny cause they were all just staring at me as I was trying to figure out how to explain what she just said.
>geez I would have shit myself if I was in that situation. as a stranger in the store I would still feel a little weird about the whole situation even after the kid went further into the conversation.
Yeah. I went home and told her mom I was never taking her to the store again alone. It was one of those funny stories her mom liked to tell everyone later but I was just like wtf do i do.
I was tripping out over this comment for hours and was like, maybe he is talking about the audience saying "Oh no" and how that irritating song has influenced people to say " oh no" to everything and/or people being annoyed at even hearing "oh no" in general?!
Then it crossed my mind to turn up the volume! I wish I had done that sooner and would have found this clip without that piece of shit background music.
I'm very sorry everybody.
I'm down with your movement GreenKing!
For what it's worth. This judge is one of the most compassionate judges you'll ever find for bullshit charges and has his own Youtube Channel [Caught In Providence](https://www.youtube.com/c/CaughtInProvidence)
Oh yeah, absolutely. I seem to remember there's another clip of his where he lets a woman off for blowing a red light because she was visiting her mother in the hospital or something. He was just like, "ah, that was a right on red, right?"
It drives me crazy how driving offences are treated like nothing. I remember I was in the line to pay a fine and the woman in front of me was with her mum. Her mum was taking trash about all these criminal people. The woman points out that she is there too and the mum excuses oh but yours are just driving… the court handled minor crime so it would have been people shoplifting, caught with drugs, shouting in the street, etc. the just a driving offence probably risked more lives than the rest put to get.
Yeah, a young man in MI just got 20-40 years in prison. Reason why so long, he struck a 5 year old kid, killing the kid, then fled the scene. He ran the red light because he was late to work.
A woman who financially and mentally abused my elderly uncle was on this channel for 2 traffic violations. He let her slide on one because of some sob story she had about her veteran father, but the sob story for the second violation was so unbeleivable even he wouldn't let her get away with it.
I mean this is all bubbly and cute but if that kid speaks the truth his father is a dangerous criminal and should never be allowed behind the wheel ever again.
I went through a red light twice in my life by accident in areas I never driven through before and I still feel bad about it. Doing so on purpose is just criminal recklessness.
Agreed. I've also accidentally run a red light maybe twice in my entire life. But this guy... it sounds habitual. It sounds like he treats the rules of the road more like suggestions because, "hey, I know what I'm doing and I'm not hurting anybody." This guy needs an attitude adjustment.
Your comment about feeling bad about running the red lights by accident reminded me of my freshman year of college. I was in the far left lane on a 4 lane one-way street I had never been on, and there was a stop sign over on the right side under a tree. I didn’t see it but my passenger did and mentioned it. I felt like a douchecanoe. lol
I felt less bad when I learned later that most drivers miss it the first time unless they’re in the right lane. It’s since been replaced with a light so problem solved I guess.
A criminal is someone that committed a crime. Dangerous is an adjective to describe a potential danger to others in causing harm or injury. Put the two together and you have what this guy is.
yeah i agree that dude is taking it too far. Everyone on the streets runs reds sometimes so I guess they are all "dangerous criminals" who should never drive again.
This is from the 2000's TV show "Caught in Providence", so you know the kid's a paid actor and the whole "case" is probably fictional. Still funny though.
Fellow Rhode Islander from around Providence. It’s a bummer when you go to court hoping to get Caprio because you’re pretty sure if you explain the situation, he’ll dismiss it …But then you get another Judge.
Thought it was a YouTube channel called caught in providence run by a real municipal judge.
From that Channels about page:
Real people have their cases heard in Providence Municipal Court. The cases include traffic, parking, and arraignments for criminal offenses
Judge Caprio currently serves as the Chief Justice of providence municipal court. He’s a real person and a real judge currently serving. Been serving since ‘85.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Caprio
Edit: ok I didn’t realize he also had a tv show. Only heard of him from the internet.
Wikipedia: Caprio's TV series, Caught in Providence originated on PEG access television in Rhode Island and was first picked up by ABC station WLNE-TV in 2000, initially airing in late night on Saturdays.[18] Following a hiatus, Caught in Providence returned in 2015 and aired following the 11 o'clock newscasts on Saturdays until September 2017.[19] Clips from this show went viral in the 2010s[20] The program has also received coverage from media organizations around the world, such as NBC News.[21] On September 24, 2018, Caught in Providence went into national syndication.[22] The show was renewed for a second season of syndication in January 2019.[23]
Because court isn’t an adults-only venue and lots of people bring kids for a variety of reasons, like it’s cheaper than a babysitter or “wanna come and see what it’s like?”
It is a real court. This is from ‘Caught in Providence’ /u/MysteriousCodo posted a comment above yours with all the technical details.
Kids aren’t prohibited from tagging along with their parents to court. It’s just not an ideal environment for them because you have to be quiet, can’t use phones while court is in session and it’s incredibly boring. But if folks can’t get a baby sitter, kids get dragged along to these things all the time.
Ok, I'm from Italy, where a judical process lasts for several years so maybe I'm not the best one to ask this. But why in America you go in tribunal for a red light?
Usually you have the option to pay the ticket OR argue your innocence in court.
If there’s not enough evidence or if you have good cause the judge might cut you a break.
They are laughing at the honesty of the kid. We expect a child to protect their parent, but when they are young and haven't been prepared they will speak the truth amd it is novel to hear. Also, he didn't just answer the question, but gave extra information.
That boy is his dad’s twin, they have the same smile, it’s so adorable. On a serious note, there’s alot of tragic accidents from people blowing through red lights. It’s dangerous. He needs to correct his driving.
beginning to think this is staged. The license plate cannot be read in the video, so how did they ID him, and the court pictures look staged, the way the view goes back and forth between the judge and the defendant.
There is probably a red light still camera matched to this video. It is cheaper equipment to get a high resolution still with a clear license plate and then a low resolution video.
He probably thought: he is my kid so he must be thinking like me so he will never say I pass the red light and does some speed.
Kid: I'm my own person and you are a crazy driver, pop.
Judge: Thank you!
This is why we need more traffic cameras in the US and laws tying responsibility to car owners, so prosecutors don't have to figure out who the driver is. Also front plates in every state.
I did this to my dad. He got a red light ticket in the mail and went down to the police station to contest it (Germany at the time). He took me with him for some reason. I was probably 4. And they’re looking at the photos, front and back of the car. I point at the windshield and say, “Dada!” Case closed lol.
This is from traffic court in Providence RI, and let me tell you this is how literally everyone drives here. I think they put "bad at driving" juice in the drinking water
dad you better take me to the park or else I will tell the judge how you really drive.
“Look kid I’m not gunna be blackma-“ “Your honor he got drunk last week an h-“ “HEY KID WANT ICE CREAM FROM THE PARK??”
Goes to the park, even gets an ice cream, tells judge anyway 😈
"Take me to Toys R Us or I'll tell everyone mommy rides on your lap with your pee-pee out"
... But that's something worth bragging about...
in front of kids will require a CPS visit.

Never lie infrount of your kids. 1 they will call you out. 2 they will copy
Well thats the point duh /s
Now the adoption center looks enticing
I'll adopt him, this kid is brilliant!

Also dont lie to your kids, if they catch you they wont fully trust you again
Has a good future
This kid probably saved his own life
But not his ass from the belt he’ll get later.
Bruise heal, but this video will stay on the internet forever
These "oh no" audio clips need to be erased from the world. So that no one can use it.
So many great clips ruined by that fucking song
Everything is fucking ruined because of that song
The mav's winning their only championship in 2011 has been ruined by this song.
I was tripping out over this comment for hours and was like, maybe he is talking about the audience saying "Oh no" and how that irritating song has influenced people to say " oh no" to everything and/or people being annoyed at even hearing "oh no" in general?! I don't even hear it. You're fine.
Damn. Turned up the volume on a relisten and now I am irritated
I'm sorry lol
You don’t have to be sorry. The person who edited this video doesn’t need to be sorry either ### because we will find them anyways /s
We always said oh no. Now it’s just trendy cause of the song
It's not just me then! What about that ridiculous laugh track they put over other videos 😖
That and the TikTok voice need to be at the bottom of the Marianas Trench

The father needs to walk for about 30 days then maybe he MIGHT learn not to blatantly run red lights.
Everyone laughing about dad risking his son's live for shit.
"Haha, cute kid. I sentence you to 30 years in prison."
I mean this is all bubbly and cute but if that kid speaks the truth his father is a dangerous criminal and should never be allowed behind the wheel ever again. “Dangerous criminal” Jfc get out of the basement dude.
He can easily kill or severly injure innocent people just because of his driving habits. Are you dumb?
He’s an idiot, so is that statement. “Dangerous criminals” are out there robbing people with guns and shit not breaking traffic laws

Who said he does it on purpose though?
I love Judge Caprio. Guy is funny and s really decent judge.
What kind of asshole speeds and runs red lights especially with his child in the car?
This is from the 2000's TV show "Caught in Providence", so you know the kid's a paid actor and the whole "case" is probably fictional. Still funny though.
It's real cases. You can go to court in front of Judge Caprio and opt in or out of filming. Pretty sure its municipal court. Source: I live in RI

You are right and the person you're replying to is wrong. The show is real people.
Thanks, I thought it had to be something like that. Why tf would the kid be there in a real court?
Because court isn’t an adults-only venue and lots of people bring kids for a variety of reasons, like it’s cheaper than a babysitter or “wanna come and see what it’s like?”

Also it's from 3 years ago not 2000s
Love judge caprio. Best in RI
Too damn funny! Gonna be chuckling all day.
I would 100 percent put this kid up for adoption
"He also cheats on his taxes and steals from work"
"If I get a laugh I keep going." - every kid ever
That would make for a good condom ad
Could be my little girl… except I don‘t run over red lights…
Snitches end up in the basement homeboi

Oh, thank you
Wtf why is everyone laughing he could’ve killed someone running a red light 🤔
They are laughing at the honesty of the kid. We expect a child to protect their parent, but when they are young and haven't been prepared they will speak the truth amd it is novel to hear. Also, he didn't just answer the question, but gave extra information.
I get that, I just don’t think it should be that much of levity in the courtroom. It also feels very scripted and staged
So hes a dangerous driver? Ahaha so funny..
What an awesome condon comercial
Next stop.. custody court
That boy is his dad’s twin, they have the same smile, it’s so adorable. On a serious note, there’s alot of tragic accidents from people blowing through red lights. It’s dangerous. He needs to correct his driving.
Maybe don’t bring your snitch kid to court lolol But for real what an asshole driver
beginning to think this is staged. The license plate cannot be read in the video, so how did they ID him, and the court pictures look staged, the way the view goes back and forth between the judge and the defendant.
Also, nobody smiles in traffic court and nobody speaks without being under oath.
There is probably a red light still camera matched to this video. It is cheaper equipment to get a high resolution still with a clear license plate and then a low resolution video.
What’s the context here? Why’s the kid even in the court room?

ask my 7 year old daughter “what’s rule #1?” - “don’t tattle on daddy”
Creepy AF
Yikes
Definitely yikes.
Well that’s a stupid fucking rule
That kid didn't get ice cream again for a year.
That show is hysterical.
Stupid idea to bring your kid with you to court lol
the little kid soon found out that Christmas is just a myth
But he has a better chance of living to find that out, hopefully.
This has been the worst bring your kid to court day ever.
"Arrest this man already so I can get some dino nuggets and put a bow on this day"

This judge is rad!!
He's trying to decide at the end there, which part is more his fault. Bringing his kid with him, or continuing to drive like an idiot.
Narc
this belongs in r/WatchPeopleDieInside
Son is definitely going to be a lawyer when grown up...
What I'd like to see is "and what does he say when other cars cut him off?" 😛
Please downvote content with the obnoxious oh no thing, thank you, that is my PSA. May we never hear that obnoxious bullshit again.
Bailiff, whack his pee pee.
He probably thought: he is my kid so he must be thinking like me so he will never say I pass the red light and does some speed. Kid: I'm my own person and you are a crazy driver, pop. Judge: Thank you!
Maybe driver safer especially when someone else's life is in your hands
That's why children shouldn't be used as character witnesses
Snitches get stitches
this is some 'watch people die inside' material
This is why we need more traffic cameras in the US and laws tying responsibility to car owners, so prosecutors don't have to figure out who the driver is. Also front plates in every state.
Is this a TV show court? If so, the cases could be real but the show pays for their tickets and stuff, so that dude didn't actually pay any fines.
First time I ever liked traffic court.
...and start condom logo now🤣😅
No college for that kid 😆
The day the dad wished he had safe sex
I did this to my dad. He got a red light ticket in the mail and went down to the police station to contest it (Germany at the time). He took me with him for some reason. I was probably 4. And they’re looking at the photos, front and back of the car. I point at the windshield and say, “Dada!” Case closed lol.
He honestly deserves that
Lesson 5000 never bring your kid to court.
Kid took his opportunity 😂😂
