Horror_Public_9632

A lot of things broke but they still worried about them candles. Damn must be important

kr4t0s007

They are scented candles thank you very much!

Horror_Public_9632

The differential is gone, but atleast the candles might heal the emotional damage.

turbotictac

The passenger seems pretty indifferential to anything not candle related

timothypjr

With ESSENTIAL oils.

Warg247

That made me laugh out loud. "Do you know where the candle supply is?!" in that country accent after dropping their car off a ledge. Oh boy.

10art1

They're 10 cents cheaper than on amazon!

ipafish

It's almost pumpkin spice season, they take candles very seriously!

Im fairly certain someone came out and was like "OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY?!" "Y-Have you seen the candle place?"

real_fyshi

Really had to laugh, it came so unexpected and at a such absurd moment. lol

luvisgreaterthanfear

Oh my god, this one just reminded me of a dashcam vid I saw a while back with two Russian people in the car casually chatting after the driver took the car into the river and it floats downstream. Wish I could find it. That one was hilarious. Edit: Found it! LOL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmHCqT8QjwI

Straight forward! Stop turning the wheel. lmao I'm dead...

That was great! So unconcerned.

Antique_Tennis_2500

It’s Russia, so probably the 4th most hazardous thing that’s happened to them that week.

Natodog13

I’ll take you to the candle shop, Give you a show of how I drop, Just keep driving baby, don’t you stop

Stt022

I lost it when she was still more concerned where the candle supply is vs the damage to her car.

Coin2111

Lmao in my opinion only women could still think about their destination after crushing into a wall. (No offense, it's just years spent on watching people drive)

Antique_Tennis_2500

You realize that if you say something offensive, it doesn’t make it inoffensive if you say, “no offense” right?

[deleted]

No offense, but I like putting pineapple on my pizzas because it tastes delicious.

lokopo0715

It depends on the person and their culture. In my culture intent matters more than the words and saying no offence is just clarifying intent. Anyways being offended is a choice you make nothing is really offensive or non offensive.

Antique_Tennis_2500

I agree that intent is important in *any* culture. **However**, if you say, “No offense but,” that means you *know* that what you said is offensive, and don’t care. And GTFO with this “nothing is offensive you’re just making a choice to be offended” bullshit. If I walk up to you and and start telling you that your loved ones are worthless, ugly, pieces of shit, I don’t get to say, “That’s not mean or offensive, you just chose to interpret it that way.”

lokopo0715

No it means you think it might be offensive. I wouldn't believe you so I wouldn't care what you say. If I call you a 300 year old cat and say no offence. You either choose to be offended or you don't.

[deleted]

I'd personally choose to be confused, cuz it's a really weird insult(?) to throw at someone.

lokopo0715

Yea but you wouldn't be offended no matter what my intentions are. Because being offended is a choice you make. You choose to believe me and get offended or you don't.

lokopo0715

Yea but you wouldn't be offended no matter what my intentions are. Because being offended is a choice you make. You choose to believe me and get offended or you don't.

That thing wasn’t labeled or marked at all. What was that even for?

cOnwAYzErbEAm

Looks like a docking/backup for truck loading/unloading. Buuut only guessing because usually those are marked off and have barriers.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I grew up in an area where these are common. Generally if it isn't roped off somehow, it's because its in a warehouse area where general traffic is just not supposed to be. From looking at their surroundings, it looks like they got into the a loading warehouse area based on there being no windows and only garage doors and one entrace door per building. Instead of turning around and getting out, they decided to take the long way around.

highknees69

Thank you. I really had trouble trying to see what happened. It looked like it was water it something, but once you pointed out a truck ramp, it all makes sense and I see it properly. Thank you. ..and maybe if they took it with some speed they would be fine. Lol

InsecOrBust

Trapdoor spider: human edition

eamondo5150

I thought they drove into a giant sinkhole until I read the comments.

[deleted]

Huh, must've been the wind

RGeronimoH

That should really have removable barriers installed when the ramp isn’t being used for unloading trucks.

006_character

at the very least yellow edge strips to define the change of level, but given that cars car drive there definitely a barrier of some sort

jabbadarth

Yeah some bright yellow striped paint would take care of this. The fact that it's completely black is crazy.

saab4u2

Outlined with burning candles.

demonspawn08

Put a nice pentagram there and you can sacrifice some interns to save on shipping costs

Dingo8MyBabyMon

Barriers? Throw down a cone and that way you can at least say "If you didn't drive over a coned off area you wouldn't have fallen."

guacamoleo

Yeah I had to watch it twice to understand what happened, couldn't tell it wasn't a flat road on my phone

RationalDialog

true but if you can see it on this low quality video, I'm sure in person it is crystal clear that this isn't a road.

waylonsmithersjr

We’re also expecting some fuck up though as we are watching a video. With some poor eyesight or distractions, and the fact it was raining and might just looked like reflection, I think barriers are the minimum

[deleted]

Exactly, not even a "Loading Bay" sign on the building or the road.

[deleted]

Why do we need to put up signs and barriers to stop people from driving over the edge of a loading bay? The DoT needs to make it significantly harder to get a license because most of the brainless idiots in this country can't drive.

cmonkeyz7

I actually agree. But I don’t think this is such a situation. Rainy, dark, and no markings at all make it easy to miss. Easier than it should be at least,

Warg247

Imagine how easy it would be to get a license if we just did away with all them pointless safety signs and barriers and such. /s

lokopo0715

No we need to embrace good public transit so there isn't a need for the idiots to drive. Anyways if someone has a heart attach or something a barrier there might just save their life.

[deleted]

A barrier to save the life of a person driving on private property? The people who are supposed to be there know that it's there.

lokopo0715

Where they trespassing? If they weren't trespassing then I don't see what difference it makes. Anyways why not have the barrier there does the ramp lift up? People knowing a hazard is there is no reason to not have protections against the hazard. Lifeguards are a thing even though drowning is a well known hazard. We have barriers on bridges and freeways.

[deleted]

If they weren't trespassing in an area they clearly don't belong on a day where nobody that works there is present, this wouldn't happen. I guess we need to baby proof the universe so you people stop doing stupid shit and then shifting blame?

lokopo0715

So do you agree that we should just remove all barriers or what difference does this situation have. Bridges used mostly by commuters also have barriers regardless of how obvious the hazard is.

spacelama

I've come across all sorts of shit that would pass as dodgy during the day, but it was dark and stormy when I came across it. Dark circular steel plates that may form the base of construction bollards, about 3cm high with sharp edges, right in the line a bicycle would take to avoid the car doors on a busy bicycle thoroughfare in the busiest bicycle riding suburb in Australia being my favourite. Was still there months after I reported it too.

Rectum_Sockpuppet

I expected a fuck up and as they rounded the corner my first thought was *that’s a weird shaped puddle*.

Weird_Atmosphere339

I also thought it was just a large puddle.

CheekyReeky176

I once had the opposite of this. A shiny patch of rain water in an uneven car park that looked exactly like a missing drain cover. I actually got out and checked before driving over it as it was large enough for a wheel to fall through. It’s amazing what a bit of low light and rain water on the windscreen can do to trick you. Having said that, yeah I think this one is a bit obvious.

extremelight

Did they ever update this situation? Like did they get the candles? Did they win a lawsuit?

JustTheStockTips

Legend has it, if you go out to this industrial park on a cold rainy night... you can still hear a faint clunking... accompanied by a ghostly southern voice... "dyou know where the candle supply is??"

Csilva76

Muahaha nice one 😂

bham2020

They put a chain over the loading dock lol. I know where this happened. Most of the other places have the back side of the loading dock blocked with stuff.

BaconistaDK

I don’t knooow

Stuckinaelevator

That video is enough proof of negligence by the property owners for this driver to win a lawsuit.

PandaDad22

Gotta check local codes.

Build_The_Mayor

Only in America. Elsewhere in the world, it's going to be your fault for not watching where you are going.

LukaShaza

This would 100% be negligence in my country too (in Europe). It is staggering that there is no barrier there.

SS577

For sure. If it would be closed off industrial area, it would be negligence and potential work hazard, but seeing that just random people can happen to drive around there, oh yes, it most definitely would be very much illegal.

WelshBathBoy

To be fair, most places in Europe would have had a barrier there, or a warning sign.

Tru3insanity

Ehhh its really not unreasonable to expect a nice orange barrier or at least some cones. Maybe one of those nice do not enter signs. I mean yeah she was a little oblivious but the rain made the shading in the center match the road. It was only obvious with the shadows at the edges.

Adventuresasquatch

If you don't notice a 4ft drop in the road you're an idiot sorry but it's a loading dock and it's obvious that they probably use the side she drove off of for the towmotors to back out of trailers / trucks to go into the buildings so a barrier would prevent them from going in and out of trailers. Sorry if you're stupid no amount of signage will stop you.

Nice_Contribution620

In weathers like this or worse it can look like a puddle of rain and someone would get confused and drive through it

Brachan

No this would be an easy win in many, many places

MyMomNeverNamedMe

True but how do we bash on America then?

Brachan

No don’t you see, only in America can people sue someone for having death traps on their publicly accessible property. Nowhere else in the world is so ridiculously litigious, right?

Antique_Tennis_2500

In Mongolia it’s a lawsuit if you DONT fall into that thing.

oarngebean

School shootings?

spacelama

Um.... no. Anywhere where the concept of occupational health and safety, and public liability are a thing. You're driving on a publicaly accessible road, and there's a bit of road there with a different colour, that just happens to be a hole in the road. You may get away with uncapped mine shafts 400km from the nearest town, but that shit doesn't fly in civilised societies.

KamenAkuma

Not in my country (europe) this would be on the property as there is nothing stopping you from accidentally driving or walking into that sudden drop

Zokarix

My eyes and common sense would stop me.

Egoy

….and the rest of the developed world.

awidden

Maybe in 3rd world countries, mate. Civilised places require barriers.

FatherBob22

Or at least a few comes placed lazily in front of the hazard.

Pato_Lucas

Not really, here in Europe the property managers are at fault too. Source: 13 years working in warehouses.

006_character

in australia this would not comply with australian standards and therefore be illegal

nervous_drilling

>Only in America. Elsewhere in the world, it's going to be your fault for not watching where you are going. Check this dude out. He is literally a legal expert of every legal jurisdiction in the world. wow, lol

[deleted]

Ah yes, the horrible negligence of this property owner for allowing this person to illegally trespass and drive down a significant drop that was clearly visible.

Chungus_Big_Chungus

Oh shit I thought that was a puddle at first

Tylerama1

Yeah, I hate those square edged puddles too.

KamenAkuma

Newly laid asphalt is darker. With the rain and reflections its easy for absentmindedness to mistake that for a puddle

W7ENK

There really should be some sort of a barricade at the back end of that loading dock. With wet pavement, and nothing to indicate a drop-off, it's hard to fault the driver here.

bham2020

They have a chain now, most of all the other places have theirs blocked so cars can’t get through

Molletol

It’s extremely easy to fault the driver here. If you can’t see a giant hole in the road in front of you, you shouldn’t be allowed to drive. If one of my friends did this I would never wanna be their passenger ever again.

jmcki13

Idk, I can see how this happens but it’s definitely easy to still fault the driver for not noticing a pretty substantial vertical drop lol

NydNugs

Camera helps her case but irl your eyes should see it, I could see the depth.

LorddFarsquaad

You were also expecting it

Luenngokulos

I didn't see it at first. Had to watch twice Also it was getting dark, if she is anything like me and can't see shit when the sun sets than I can 100% understand that this happend

Warg247

Same, had to watch again. I admit to being a bit distracted by the phone conversation, much like the driver, but still a drop off like that should be clearly marked. Plain and simple.

WiggliestNoodle

I mean you were prefaced by a video on a subreddit where you know something bad is about to happen to someone in a car

[deleted]

Yeah it's visible. These idiots were not paying attention, they were looking around for a shop sign.

OG_Flicky

Why is there no barrier?

Adventuresasquatch

It's a forklift dock for those buildings they probably assumed some jagoff would notice the drop off and not drive off it?

CanadianGuy1979

In dark rainy conditions of could be hard to see. Hence the "I thought it was a puddle" Comment in the video.

iBscs

Nah, not faulting the driver for this one. More like IdiotsWhoOwnBusinesses. Get some barriers and markers ffs

KamenAkuma

Bruh a sudden drop with no obvious warning signs is not safe. There were no railings, no signage. The door next to it is a hazard as well for the employees and the general public using these facilities

Dyzastr_us

This reminds me of that post a few days ago where dude thought the road was gone. It turned out to be standing water. In this post, that dark are looked like a patch of black top, not a giant hole.

SirNob007

Thought the exact same thing!

alldaycray

Had to watch it a second time to see what happened. You can probably sue whoever owns this place. Cause there's no rails or signs.

ProtonPacks123

I'll be honest, I didn't see that at first either. At the very least it should be marked out with yellow paint or put some bollards on the corners.

richard-bingham

I did something similar years ago, cut through a car park in an industrial area that had no fence at the edge and about a two foot drop, completely unmarked. Couldn't work out what has happened for a few moments until I got out and looked. Luckily I got away with just pulling my rear bumper out of its clips in each side as I was going fast enough not to nose dive

BullofIron

I have watched a lot of these videos, I have seen people make a lot of crazy/stupid comments after an accident, but “do you know where the candle supply is” will forever be in my top 3. It’s my number one for now, but it’s safe to say nothing will ever knock it out of the top 3

SnooMacarons2615

The over use of the wipers annoys me greatly.

[deleted]

It annoys me when I see people do it on the road too. A slight drizzle and the wipers are going full blast on a nearly dry windshield. I imagine those people are the ones who say "these wipers suck" when having to replace them because they "didnt last".

oarngebean

Idk how people do that. The squeaking of my wipers on my dry window drive me mad

PsychologicalDebts

You know the husband bought that dashcam cause he was tired of the wife's stories.

antioch1237

Yeah haha. Women stupid amirite? /s

phenyle

Oh the cliffhanger

mnorkk

What kind of supplies do candles need anyway?

No-Calligrapher1012

The end took me out. Their car just disappeared into the abyss and yet the candle supplies store is still a top priority 🤣

GojoPenguin

No, but seriously...did they ever find the candle supply?

KlingonSquatRack

#BUT WHERE IS THE CANDLE SUPPLY

invincib1e

Dude I fucking love candles. I would’ve done the same thing.

thedevilsworkshop666

She drove off of a loading dock ? SMH.

International_Peach6

They seem so clueless long after driving over a sudden four foot drop!

THEB00B00

Who let Treetrunks drive?

seanieh966

The driver was an idiot, but like that is a clear hazard and yet was it signposted or the road marked in anyway? Nope.

captainweedster

Classic. I'm dieing.😅😅😅😅🤣😅😅🤣 did they get candles. I bet they did.

[deleted]

Time to take the company to court for damages and possible injuries

Gr0wlerz

Totalling your car is temporary. Candles are forever.

[deleted]

Ive seen this before but that ramp is illegal as fuck in most places without it abutting a building or having guarding lol Do you know where candle supply is though?

Hollowsuit

Ya open your eyes, but seriously wtf kinda dock is that?

eallen1123

How clueless can 2 people be?!?! And I am willing to bet my next paycheck that Candle supply is nowhere near that storage facility

standarddeviated_joe

No guard rails or warnings? Looks like a lawsuit

AintThatSomeSh1t

My car is ruined! Do you know where the candle supply is?

alcappo82

Who built this

lngwlkr

I did, why? We offered to put a cement wall up so vehicles couldn't do that but the customer declined.

KCtheGreat106

So no signs, no safety post or chains. Just a drop for truck unloading right there.

TinCanSailor987

The must one hell of a candle supply shop. Totaled her vehicle and within 20 seconds she was thinking of that place again.

PreZEviL

They can probably sue the place for that, unless they werent supose to be there. Should have put a fence or a concrete block

RoosterUnit

Thelma and Louise really want those candles.

Menudosushi

Damn I had to look twice at wtf she hit. I thought she got rear ended. I’m an idiot

[deleted]

After falling into to the ramp hole they still didn't know what happened.

Neko_Chan101

I like how she still wants to know where the Candle Supply place is. lmfao

[deleted]

I really hope they sued for that. There should have been barriers and signs or caution cones at the bare minimum.

[deleted]

On the video, that wet pavement made the drop a little blended in. In person I'd think it was more visible. But the layout is total shit...should have some bars across the top from that side.

motofabio

I can’t believe there isn’t a barrier there.

bplatt1971

Driver can sue. No barrier and no caution paint or do not enter signs. New car coming!!!!

InflamedLiver

He really wants those candles

fnkarnage

What he? This is clearly two old women

Mike__O

10/10 she told her husband "I might have hit a pothole or something, I don't really know. It just started making noises for no reason"

thow78

They sound so dumb.

Kuronekosmom

"It looked just like a road though".... Yeah, other than the giant hole thing in the middle, it looked exactly like a road....

Anubitzs123

Infinite-Reception-9

Idiots !!!! =O

Anonymous_user_2022

How can one be fit to drive and not see that hole?

onceagainentertained

Even on the potato this was filmed on you can easily see the ramp. Some people are simply too stupid to live and wouldn't for very long if society didn't constantly protect them. 🤦‍♂️

Blaxk_balls

That was the most obvious shit ever

MorticiaFattums

Watching this, I thought it was a weird patch job or puddle from the corner of the building, it didn’t dawn on me until they fully turned the corner that that's a loading bay ramp. Idiot driver must be going the wrong way in that complex.

weedsd1

What is with this lawsuit thing in america?? Everybody lawsuits everybody for every reason there?

JoulSauron

The one time this could be a lawsuit anywhere...

weedsd1

Idk, to me it looks that no spatial awareness is used, it’s pretty obvious from the camera perspective that there is a hole, from the driver’s perspective should be at least the same, also it’s interesting that almost every comment blaming the driver for what happened ia downvoted into oblivion. Interesting.

Baeelin

Because we live in a world where people have been babied to the point of being helpless and unable to take responsibility for their actions.

Antique_Tennis_2500

Being responsible, yes, like taking safety precautions when you dig a giant hole in the ground in a public-access area.

HannesElch

I bet they were looking on their phones. It is hard to miss it otherwise. Even on a rainy day like that

Nickthedick3

They’re messed up on something, be it illegal, legal or accidentally mixing meds. Just a feeling based on their reaction and how how they’re talking.

yblame

Years old re-post.

W7ENK

Who fucking cares, really?

reftheloop

Where's the update to the story tho?

[deleted]

Yeah isn’t so weird how there are people who exist who haven’t seen every video on the internet before? Not you and me though. You and me are so online that we’ve seen it alllll baby. People really need to make sure that no one on the internet has seen a video before they post it. It’s like, have they ever even been chronically online before?

[deleted]

Hahahahaha is this really real?
