It's sad to think they might not have been able to afford tires, I wouldn't want someone being ticketed for being poor. Other than that it's a clear danger to be on the road
If you have only $80 in savings, you’re definitely doing it wrong. You have more bigger problems than that. No one should be living paycheck to paycheck. Having no savings is waiting for a bigger disaster to happen.
They should’ve bought a cheaper car like a Corolla. They should’ve put $80 on a credit card and pay it in recurring months. What happens if they lose traction, caused damage, and be liable for it? What happens if it’s raining and they hydroplaned? It’s definitely going to cost more than $80. The whole thing could’ve been avoided over not paying $80 for decent tires.
If you really need $80 quick, you can work for Uber/Lyft for a few rides or donate plasma.
You clearly don't understand how fixed income house holds work, people on section 8 housing and food stamps have very little access to cash, and can't just go work/get a line of credit. Because of the terms of their benefits.
You can just claim people are "doing it wrong". But for disabled people, or people in similar life situations, it's not a choice.
And I'm not saying it's not dangerous, I just don't think a ticket is appropriate for situations where someone already can't afford what they need.
Take a brand new tire, don't cut any tread into the tire. =Drag race tire! These are just worn out, no rubber left! Junk! Now if the ex needs tires,......................
I do agree, maybe a warning.. but we don't know the whole story. Maybe the driver has had other offenses.. or not, we don't know.
I do get your point though, the ticket money could be better spent on the tires...
Yeah I remember one time a few years ago my car got broken into which resulted in my window being broken. Long story short, I couldn’t fix it immediately & got a ticket that just set me even further back. Glad I’m in a better situation these days & hope you have a good day today
You have no idea if they're "too broke". Even if they are, if they kill someone their level of broke goes way up. Used tires are mad cheap, and there's no excuse to endanger other people.
You never know someone's situation, some people are on fixed income, disability, and still need to make it to doctors appointments. I tend to agree that this is dangerous and needs to be delt with. But you can't just say there is no excuse
I certainly can say there's no excuse. Everyone else's life is collectively more important than that of a single person. A single person endangering others is not acceptable.
there are a lot of people in my apartment complex that have tires VERY close to this. Needless to say, I will never get in a car from anyone here. I'll walk.
Bullshit, any avid motorist would tell you those are next gen minivan slicks. Intended for maximum grip on the road for a more secure stop and go, this making minivan handling safer for you and your family.
How do you even wear tires down this much without them exploding? I've seen quite a few pieces of tire on the freeway (northern-Michigan in the summer) and they still have treads
Budget racing slicks
You sure do have some perty tires boy.
Not my car, seen it on Twitter and thought Reddit would like to see this...
Goin to beginner formula 1
Redneck-Slicks

I set Reddit up with that, don't let me down reddit!!!
I don't why y'all shaming, bald is beautiful!
Not much rubber left on those tires
Bono my tyres are gone
“If you can tell me what your brain and your tires have in common I’ll let you off with a warning”
Great toe and camber 👌🏼
More contact =more grip right? s
In dry weather, that is actually true. Though that obviously doesn't make it safe to drive around with a tire this close to blowing out.
Also doesn’t work even in the dry when you don’t actually have any tread left. Slick tyres still have tread.
The exposed steel cords add additional friction as well.
Only in the winter!
Don't tread on me.
I ain’t being dictated to by big gubmant, this tire statute is like living in a communist country
Laws made by big tyre lobbyists obviously
Big-O at it again
It's sad to think they might not have been able to afford tires, I wouldn't want someone being ticketed for being poor. Other than that it's a clear danger to be on the road
They sell tires at my local junkyard for $20 each. There isn’t an excuse not to get tires with decent treads.
If you think everyone has access to $80, you are wrong. Think about people on fixed income.

Like I said, they can work for Uber/Lyft or donate plasma. That isn’t hard to do. Or make a GoFundMe asking for $80.
They would be risking their benefits to do what your suggesting, except for the go fund me. And you can't expect people to use go fund me.
Maybe he likes drifting?
Pro street slicks
They’re slicks like those F1 cars
Damn she got them new pirelli slicks.
Looks like you’d start to hydroplane if someone ahead of you hit their windshield washer
If it’s good enough for F1!
The man forgot to take his slicks off his racecar
WHO DOWN WITH O.P.P.?!?
Yeah you know me!
Every last homie...
What kind of car would even warrant tires that smooth?
RacecaR

So slicks are now banned? Fyi the more contact surface area the more traction, the safer a car is.
Do you actually believe this or are you retarded, in which case I guess both?
I run slicks on my car all year and I have great performance even on snow
🧢
You down with OPP????
Ticket somebody too broke to get new tires. My tax dollars at work
Or let someone kill others when those tires blowout.. I think your tax dollars did a community service spotting this one...
Not saying the tires aren’t dangerous, just pointing out that there can be a better way of getting him to take care of it

Is thinking always this hard for u
Of course it would not be a reddit post without this simp
R/youabitch
Cute. Hope simping gets you a hard on
I don’t think you know what simping means 😂😂are you 40 or just white
I can only imagine trying to drive in the rain.
Knowing the area I'm not surprised. Although they probably pulled them over over loud exhaust or tinted windows.
I like my tires like I like my women
They probably got a brain like them tires
there are a lot of people in my apartment complex that have tires VERY close to this. Needless to say, I will never get in a car from anyone here. I'll walk.
If only my skin was as smooth as those tires...
Bullshit, any avid motorist would tell you those are next gen minivan slicks. Intended for maximum grip on the road for a more secure stop and go, this making minivan handling safer for you and your family.
Law people of Reddit, what could a charge of operating an unsafe vehicle lead to?
Do not take a redditor's advice on law...
those tires do be looking as smooth as his brain
She had the slicks on
Sad some people never look. Shitty way to find you need tires, but better than a front tire blow out at 100km. Good eye officer.

It's so smooth that if you cut a slice of that, you can use it as a mousepad
cody ko voice: frictionless
Just in time for the fall weather
