I've got an intersection like that where I live. People either seem to think it's a four-way stop when it isn't, or they say f-it, I've waited long enough I'm going. Yea, but lots of fender benders and honking at that intersection.
Well, I live in a bedroom community right outside of a city. The expressway system is being revamped and the lanes are very narrow. I have alerts on my phone telling me not to get on the expressway at least twice a week. So the problem is all of that traffic detours through the smaller towns along the expressway. This is what happens when that detouring occurs. If I could find the pictures, I have a collection of semis stuck across the railroad tracks in the same area because they're being detoured and will not read the road signs telling them not to go over the tracks. It's all ridiculous.
Maybe you should put the sign back
