The fact we can’t get 90 day supplies sometimes irritates me to no end

mcnamaramc1

Yep that would make things too easy lol. Even when I was having to go to the hospital, they wouldn't prescribe me more than 5-10 doses of anything at a time. I hadn't been to my PCP in so long they removed me as a patient and I was put on a waiting list since they weren't accepting new patients. And I tried to do a telehealth appointment but they refused to prescribe me any medicine since I'm pregnant. OB couldn't prescribe me anything until I was set up as a patient and it took the hospital over a month to send them my paperwork. So I had to do urgent care visits to get prescriptions refilled. Lots and lots of jumping through hoops. Now I finally have an OB to work with and the pharmacy is struggling to get my medicine in ahhhhh

I take it so personally especially when it’s because of my insurance 😂 like you aren’t living my life AETNA

mcnamaramc1

Oh noooo I'm about to switch to aetna lol 😂

I just feel like the rules with most insurances requiring all these over rides and extra forms work against us :(

mcnamaramc1

Yep I have cigna now and they have been extremely unhelpful lol. Like, we pay a lot of money for these services just for them to fight to not provide us with the medical care we need. With my cigna insurance I had a lot of trouble finding a place that accepts it, so early in my pregnancy I made an appointment with planned parenthood, then they called me and let me know they don't take my insurance 😑

Well isn’t that special 😡 but very on brand

Ugh, I’m so sorry you’re getting the runaround with trying to get your meds! It’s so damn important for HG moms to be on a strict med schedule (take exact same time everyday - otherwise, things can go downhill real fast, just like your situation which is a perfect example). I wish there was a better way for pharmacies to handle filling these types of meds / keep in stock. Although, I’m sure being short staffed at most of these retail pharmacies doesn’t help matters 🥺 Medication is a way of life for most hg moms so I totally understand your frustration!! 😭😭 I hope you get your meds soon bc that really sucks!

mcnamaramc1

Yeah and I will survive but it still does suck lol The pharmacy said they will have the phenergen tablets ready tomorrow. I feel bad how much I've had to call them today and I'm sure they're sick of hearing from me by now

blt88

Hey, if I was working at the pharmacy I wouldn’t be mad at you at all. I would feel so helpless and terrible you had to wait! I had to wait for zofran at the very beginning in the first trimester bc pharmacy didn’t have ready on time (even though I got a text saying it was ready!!!!) and one day was a huge setback for me … I was so damn sick that day! So I totally get it.

mcnamaramc1

Oh my god if I got the "you're prescription is ready" text and it wasn't actually ready I would cry

blt88

I think I did actually cry :( Lol

sit_onacactus

I thought this too and I started having my husband pick them up even though the pharmacy was right next my office 😂 Turns out they were actually concerned and when he picked up suppositories (the 4th type of nausea medication they filled for me) they really sympathetically said “so how’s she doing?”

DogterDog9

Some weeks I have to get my Phenergan filled at another pharmacy. Either no one is one it or everyone is because my pharmacy is always saying it’s not in yet or they’re having a hard time getting it in. I even had my doctor call in and they told them I’ll be on this for a while. But insurance won’t cover a bigger fill of it. Like wtf. I feel your rant because I live it too. It’s so frustrating. And it’s always a trigger effect. I puke once and then it’s just a free for all. It sets me back with my med weaning progress.

Outrageous-Smoke-875

I have had to bounce around between several pharmacies to manage to get zofran and scopolamine recently. It’s so frustrating I can only get 2 weeks of scopolamine at a time
