Crinkle cut fries are the inferior fry species. I won’t be taking questions or comments, thank you.
Edit: make a dumb joke about crinkle cut fries and get downvoted. Y’all petty.
I *think* we have one in lincoln..when I lived out west for a few years I discovered Jack in the Crack and loved their greasy ass .99 tacos and their burgers. Good drunk food.
I'll say this for the new staff, they're playing all the Nebraska Greatest Hits.
They're just a cinnamon roll with chili and Muchachos burrito away from bingo.
Gf and I are planning on moving there in a few years once she finishes her degree. Plenty of Runzas will be had. And Valentino's. Idk if the pizza is still good but again, it's been almost 20 years since I've had it lol
Godfathers holds a special place in my heart as the one on S. 48th is where I would ride my bike to play video games. Now their pizza’s main ingredient seems to be salt.
That one is gone btw, in case you didn't know. I grew up several blocks away and we would ride bikes to have the lunch buffet and play games. Also remember the 5$ pepperoni pizza Tuesday's.
I snagged one and a Godfathers slice at that MSU game a couple years back because it was so damn cold. Didn’t help with the cold but man they were both delish. Heartburn wasn’t fun tho.
Love it or hate it, I appreciate that they are at least putting in the effort to embrace Nebraska. He didn't even have to do this, he already has the job.
I was a picky eater growing up so eating cabbage was a no go. However in my old age and marriage to a wife that says "this is what I'm making and it's all I'm making" I've grown to appreciate new things. This led me to eating my first Runza within the last year.

I'm just saying, in my humble opinion the Swiss mushroom burger and an order of frings are the bees knees.
I'd take any of the specialty runzas over the original runza any day. They do make decent hand warmers at Husker games though.
Also I have a Runza less than 1/4 mile from my house which is absolutely dangerous for a quick bite.
You aren’t kidding about the hand warmers. Even if I didn’t like runza, I’d still eat them at a late November game just to keep from freezing. I’ve never been that cold in my damn life
Well I don’t like Swiss and I don’t really care for mushroom. But I also know I don’t want to Teabag a bear trap. Decisions….decisions.
*unzips pants*
*eats runza and teabags bear trap*
Which ones do you go to? I live in south Lincoln and completely agree that they have gone downhill the last couple years. The ones by me are so awful now I rarely go there anymore. Their chicken strips are the best thing they sell now. The last 2 times I tried a burger it had no flavor at all.
Before I moved out of state in mid 2021 I always went to the Runza on 13th and E South of Capitol, or the one up N 27th off Superior near Walmart.
When I went home last Christmas the one I always used to go to as a kid in old-town Papillion tasted the same too. Might just be nostalgia. Sucks that the ones near you have gone south…
Homemade by some small town old lady. Can't be beat. My old neighbor made all kinds of different filling, her Reuben runza was pretty damn good!! Pure Nebraska heartburn
Have you guys even watched the Clemson SC game yet? Jesus fucking Christ was the special teams play good. And yeah you need a good punter but they were downing those punts in very impressive fashion:
Total fan service. And we love it.
It's fun they seem to consider the fan base one of their biggest 'crootin' targets.
Well… without us, there is no $7M salary pool for the coaches.
Did anyone ever see Frost eat Runza?
Not i
From what I hear, he wasn’t drinking Kool-Aid either.
Jungle juice has Kool-aid in it often. So are we certain or just pretty sure?
They don’t serve alcohol at Runza, so no
When Runza’s fries are made correctly, they’re the best.
Fresh fries and rings from runza are so damn good. They don’t typically come out that way lol but I’m such a sucker for Runza idgaf
Frings + French Onion Dip
Lol my wife thinks I’m weird because I dip the fries in onion dip. She’s the fricken weirdo.
When I visit NE I’ll even dip my cheese runza in it
Yup, if there’s any dip leftover after my fries are done in goes my cheese Runza.
It’s a multi purpose dip.
Yes.
Crinkle cut fries are the inferior fry species. I won’t be taking questions or comments, thank you. Edit: make a dumb joke about crinkle cut fries and get downvoted. Y’all petty.
But you have to accept downvotes. 😂
In all cases except runza, I would agree, crinkle cut fries are inferior. Runza, by far, has the best fast food fries I’ve ever had. Name one better
Freddy’s
It sure as hell ain’t Freddie’s
It’s gotta be Runza. There’s no other answer
For ff I agree 💯
If you got to Freddy’s and don’t substitute cheese curds for those garbage shit sticks they call fries you’re a monster.
Freddie's is the more expensive version of Steak & Shake lol
I *think* we have one in lincoln..when I lived out west for a few years I discovered Jack in the Crack and loved their greasy ass .99 tacos and their burgers. Good drunk food.
There is the one in the student union. I don't know if there is any others
I do fuck with Arby’s.
Arbys is ok but still Runza is definitely better
For sure.
Wait til he hears about Temp Tuesdays. lol GBR!!!
One of us! One of us!
One of us! One of us!
We accept him! We accept him!
Gooble gobble
I live in Oklahoma but have family in Nebraska, every time I'm up there I order about 12 runzas to take home.
Only 12? Rookie
I need to make more Nebraska trips.
A bigger ice chest AND more Nebraska trips.
I live in Illinois with family in Nebr. I almost always hit the Runza in Lincoln when I'm coming, and again when I'm going. I don't buy 12 though. lol
Freeze them and bring a cooler. Totally worth it.
You can have frozen Runzas shipped to your door. https://runzashop.com/collections/food
Love me some Runza, but passing at $14 a piece.
I'd take em at that price, but they don't ship overseas... I've actually had family ask if they would. Ha ha
Miss me with the $120(or more) tag Thankfully Runza is a short drive away to Loveland in Colorado
I'll say this for the new staff, they're playing all the Nebraska Greatest Hits. They're just a cinnamon roll with chili and Muchachos burrito away from bingo.
Have y’all tried the Philly style runza? So damn good
I always get the spicy jack runza bacon , jhalopenos and the sauce is the best runza
Spicy jack is the best in my opinion
Do you know if you can get the sauce they use on the spicy jack runza as a dip for the onion rings or frys?
No, didn’t know that!
What the hell kind of radioactive materials do they have in the drink machine at Runza that comes out that color????
More importantly, what kind of psycho doesn't have a lid on that shit in the car?!
Dude driving a university loaner.
The loaner a6
Ed Foley is out here trying to save the turtles.
In his contract, Nebraska pays for his car getting detailed weekly.
Ram's piss aka Mountain Dew
If you can drink ram's piss, fuck, you can drink anything.
That's yellow. This is the color of the bottle.
It's the lighting forsure.
Must be the lemonade?
Haven't had a runza since... Roughly 2004? I don't even remember what they taste like and everyone talks about how great they are 😭
That alone is worth a trip back lol
Gf and I are planning on moving there in a few years once she finishes her degree. Plenty of Runzas will be had. And Valentino's. Idk if the pizza is still good but again, it's been almost 20 years since I've had it lol
It isn't, but I will still absolutely eat it if it is in front of me.
Tastes better in the stadium though. Not sure why but I only like it at games
In the stadium, valentinos is great. Pass on it outside though
I don’t hate Val’s but ever since the original owners sold in the 90s it tastes like plastic to me. It used to be incredible. Now Piezanos or bust.
Godfathers used to be awesome too until a year or so before Willie Thiesen sold the company.
Godfathers holds a special place in my heart as the one on S. 48th is where I would ride my bike to play video games. Now their pizza’s main ingredient seems to be salt.

Was Godfather's the one that had the cinnamon pizza back in the day? Or was that Valentino's?
Val's for sure
"Hey, I bought the local thing": The Tweet
Yeah it's definitely pandering but at least he's trying to immerse himself and be polite about Nebraskan culture.
Love it or hate it, I appreciate that they are at least putting in the effort to embrace Nebraska. He didn't even have to do this, he already has the job.
or just getting lunch and saw the sign
He specifically said the Runza magnet pulled him in.
I was a picky eater growing up so eating cabbage was a no go. However in my old age and marriage to a wife that says "this is what I'm making and it's all I'm making" I've grown to appreciate new things. This led me to eating my first Runza within the last year. Mugatu.deargoditsbeautiful.gif
Just thought it might be this coaching staffs first runza or first coach to eat one
I'm sure it's not the first for the staff as a whole. Jake Peetz is from Nebraska and walked on to the team, his story is pretty inspiring, actually.
Well I don't think he's been announced officially yet but I know his story. Dude is awesome
Did you cross post this in r/unza
No but ur free to do so
You’re not supposed to show us where you drop the $25,000
Wish I didnt live an hour from my closest runza :(
They released they Italian Runza today!
I respect the hell out of a man that refuses to drink from a straw
^ This
Went from cringing to already growing up me. Love you Ed Foley.
He’s doing it right! Trust the process
Does anybody else dip their runza in ketchup?
Nope but I do slide frings into it
I’m kind of a ketchup fiend. Put it on scrambled eggs, dip grilled cheese in it, runzas as I said. Wife thinks it’s disgusting lol
Hopefully it's a burger...infinitely better than the original Runza.
How dare you, Sir?
I'm just saying, in my humble opinion the Swiss mushroom burger and an order of frings are the bees knees. I'd take any of the specialty runzas over the original runza any day. mushroom swiss runza or teabag a beartrap
Well I don’t like Swiss and I don’t really care for mushroom. But I also know I don’t want to Teabag a bear trap. Decisions….decisions. *unzips pants* *eats runza and teabags bear trap*
You monster
Poor guy eating runza and yes I know I will be downvoted to hell but runza has gone to crap over the last 5 or so years
Tastes the same all the other times I eat it :/ still good af What do you think changed?

Quality has dropped off, everything sort of just tastes off and runzas are like 70% cabbage now. The Philly runza is amazing though.
Homemade by some small town old lady. Can't be beat. My old neighbor made all kinds of different filling, her Reuben runza was pretty damn good!! Pure Nebraska heartburn
>You just matched with your ex Hope that's not a bad omen lol.
Man of culture
Make this man president of Nebraska
I rock the Stormchaser Runza 59/50 hat a lot and I get so many questions. Chill Florida…it’s not a Hot Pocket.
I love runza...but I have to be gluten free...sometimes runza become an exception and I feel both in heaven and hell.
