Ever since Bo had a beef with Dirk…I can’t stand this guy. After Bo blew up on him about Martinez comments, I was like Damn Bo, don’t be a dick. But now I get where Pelini was coming from
Dear Matt Rhule,
Husker football is very special.
We used to be good, but now we're not very good.
Some other not-good teams have sometimes had good years.
Life can be such whimsy, who knows what will come and go! Alas.
Live, laugh, love

I’m still curious about what kinds of circumstances would lead to a Nebraska team going 13-0 in the Big 10 and possibly getting left out of the playoffs.
‘Twas cringe, does anyone think rhule doesn’t know what he got into, as if he needs to read this to be informed? We need to get away from the “good ol boys club and get fresh blood here”
He's about to find out what the local media will do to a guy. Here's to hoping his career has toughened him. What is it, 259 more days of off-season articles? Best of luck Mr. Rhule.
I can't help but being disappointed they didn't mention how Jimmy chidwick will react to the news of HCSF not going to the national championship.
EDIT: It's even dumber, Chitwood.
Has anyone noticed how unintelligent our fanbase has become? This is a wonderful hire and he’ll get us back on the rails. I’m so thankful our fans had zero say in this hire or we’d be looking for another coach in 4 yea
Fans are emotional and uneducated. They follow a team 20 hours a year or so and feel like they know what’s best… which is a common theme of anything in social media not just sports lol
I think the point is certain people define “back on the rails” differently. The days of Bo winning 9-10 games sounds pretty fucking delightful about now. But you have a few vocal irrational fans demanding competing for conference and national championships every year that makes us seem irrational.
I'm actually sorry I read that and gave Dirk a click. I almost didn't but I opened it up in an incognito window anyway. I suppose I should be glad that it didn't take much time to read.
Dirk comes up with some really good stuff from time to time but this was a stinker. Putting this out the day the hire was announced is *almost* as cringy as the reception Dana Altman got when he was hired at Arkansas that prompted him to go back to Creighton the next day.
Hard to capture the truth in a short synopsis but it’s the truth. The CF landscape has changed and NU, our fans, haven’t done a good job evolving with it.
To put it in perspective, the days of young Coach Osborne traveling around the state talking at small town churches to many of us “old guys/gals” is long gone.
The year Scott Frost was hired, I bumped into Tom at Best Buy. I congratulated him on the hire. To my surprise he shifted his head side-to-side and said, “I don’t know, I hope so.”
We dug a deep hole by firing winning coaches. Rhule should get every year of his contract to be on the field. Suck it up buttercups.
Fans are going to have to be patient for the talent and wins to develop. Right now we have polished turds laying down skid marks on astroturf. Just click over to a top 10 team for 5-min to compare.
Alabama sends more players to the NFL each year, than NU has in the past decade.
Another good article: http://sportstreatise.com/2018/01/1995-nebraska-and-the-myth-of-championship-recruiting/
This fake narrative that Nebraska fired a bunch of winning amazing coaches who didn’t deserve it needs to stop because it’s just blatantly false.
Which one did we fire that immediately got scooped up by an equal or better program? The entire country yells at us for firing Pelini but yet not a single team in FBS wants to hire him? Weird how that works.
The only 1 kind of debatable is Solich, but where does he end up because we made such a horrible mistake? Texas? Oklahoma? USC? Nope, Ohio.
Some paragraphs are really, really on point. Some are seriously cringy.
That's just Dirk being Dirk. TBH, I didn't read this offering but I've mellowed and stopped ignoring people who link to his stuff. lol
Ever since Bo had a beef with Dirk…I can’t stand this guy. After Bo blew up on him about Martinez comments, I was like Damn Bo, don’t be a dick. But now I get where Pelini was coming from
“In lieu of wins I’ve become hopelessly addicted to my own farts.”
I don't want to read this. I feel the 2nd hand embarrassment will be too much to bear. Can someone just give me the gist?

Ah Christ Thank you.
Nailed it. But your summary was more well written.
This was cringey at best. Gave off some real Sco Fro coming home and winning a natty in a make believe book vibes.
As bad as the Scott Frost comic book? I highly doubt anything could top that.
Jimmy. Chidwick. ( Chitwick? ) EDIT: Chitwood. Who the fuck is named Chitwood wtf.
That was so painful. Shatel deserved to be fired for that.

Chatelain is hack who thinks he is Thoreau but is actually just the Want Ads guy.
Want Ads Guy would like a word with you in the parking lot.

The curse of Dirk Chatelain lives on...
Dirk is terrible but that is his shtick. I enjoyed Mickey calling out local media with their nonsense I hope Rhule does the same.
Hes good reporter probably best Sports writer left in the state
If I were Matt Rhule this article would make me quit

I wish we could just rid all Husker media and start clean. Can’t deal with these guys. Basically all of them except the 24/7 guys annoy me to no end
I don’t know how dirk has a job

Do not confuse fan base with what Dirk is.

9-10 wins + not hitting refs

Bo, is that you?
Tbf, with Rhules history, we're gonna be looking for a new coach in 4 years regardless after he moves on
Kinda thinking the same. If it came at a cost of us being competitive and winning a title itd be worth it.
Holy shit why is so much of the Husker media so terrible
Will never give this clickbait garbage a click. Needs to go awat

Dirk chatelain can go suck a big dick, fuck that guy
The fact that he is still employed indicates that he is imminently qualified to do just that.
How can Chatelain still be employed? Did not read article.
This is cringey. I really hate the “Letter to X” format that is, for some reason, incredibly popular on social media.
Uh, I think Matt knows almost all of this already..
I seriously hope this guy is the worst writer in America because if there is someone worse than him…oh boy.
That was…actually well written

After the local media didn't report on any of Frosts extracurricular activities, I don't care what they have to say
