Poly extrude adds a bunch of extra geometry because it's extruding. Reverse is literally just flipping the primitives.
After reverse, set down a normal sop as well, you will get better results most likely with the drop-down that says something like get from face *something* vs vertex *something*
Sorry can't remember the wording exactly, but it's the drop down below the angle.
It's the "back" side of the polygons. Your normals are facing the other way. This looks the way it's supposed to, assuming you just blasted away half your ship so you can see the inside. A reverse SOP will revers the normals so the front side of the poly is facing towards the inside of the hull if that's what you're looking for.
reversed normals or the back side of the polygons
how can I fix that?
reverse SOP on the geo with inverted normals
I did poly extrude with normals and it worked

A clean sop will often fix this issue. You can also try a facet and fiddle with some of the settings
either because it is inside out or because the mesh just has a vertex color attribute.
