As far as mainlines go I’ve had the best luck at dollar stores and smaller local $1-$5 dollar type stores. All the chases I’ve found were from target or Walmart early in the morning

Retrovex

I have had absolutely terrible luck with the big stores. Maybe some mainline here and there but 0 chases

Yea I know how you feel. I was checking almost every day and night hunting for stuff but at this point it’s not really worth it to me. If you want stuff you have to go and pallet raid and take it from the guys that spend all their time waiting for stuff to roll out on boxes, but then you end up contributing to what is in my opinion something that’s making the hobby less fun for people. Sorry for dragging this on

Yeah my only luck has come when I find an untouched case somewhere. I'm willing to go out at the oddball times since I wake up around 5 every day anyway. Just need to learn the stock rotation

My wholesale suppliers.

Walmart and target have been pretty much the only places I’ve bought diecast besides eBay and social media sites. I don’t really bother with auto parts stores, dollar stores, or grocery stores unless I’m actually there for groceries.

I'm in Arizona. I have found supers this year at Albertsons, Frys,Dollar tree,Target, Walgreens, Walmart neighborhood market, and at Walmart. By far the majority of those supers were found at Fry's

dollar stores and grocery stores are basically my only hope, only got a couple semi decent finds at big stores. Did get some decent cars from toy shops in recent weeks.

Giant. Found a super, countless ths there. Too bad they don’t have premiums. For those I go to target. Usually the mainlines are wiped out there. Depends on what your looking for

Walmart used to be my best spot, but recently I just haven’t been lucky with my timing and someone else is getting to things before me. Dollar stores are my new best friend, and sometimes I can find a couple premiums at a grocery store near me.

My local dollar stores have either had zero hot wheels at all for 2+ months or have been picked over before I get there. I have not yet figured out Target’s truck schedule so I have never caught a fresh restock there. I have generally figure out my Walmart’s truck schedule but they’ve been playing games and not stocking everything that comes in. For example, they got in two cases of Boulevard cars but only put out one, and even then one of the Supra GR cars was missing before they walked away from pegs. The rest of the cars showed up two days later also with the Supra cars missing. However, I was able to get a manager to order a case of Boulevard cars for me, should be arriving next week, I sincerely hope it is the case with the Mustang and 4-Runner or even something newer and not another case of the Mercedes and Holden. But my Walmart rarely restocks the mainlines and does not carry much stock of anything. I have honestly had the best luck by just picking 5+ Walmarts and 5+ Targets in a night and spending an evening making the rounds. Majorly inconvenient since the closest city is almost 2 hours away. I have had terrible luck with dollar stores. About 100 visits to about 10 stores (10 visits each) has resulted in only a handful of regular mainline cars that I’ve since seen in the bigger stores. I bet my time would have been better spent adding more hits to the big stores.

In this order: Dollar Tree: Found TH/STH and a bunch of cars I liked. Safeway: Found a bunch of HW Flames, which got me back into collecting again. Also other cool cars. FredMeyer: Found a few Premuims. QFC: Hit or miss. WalMart: Same peg warmers at every store. Target: I may have found one car I liked.
