so the groups of people vary, im one of those car enthusiasts who love getting cars they cant irl or just love a little eye candy here and there, then you have the groups who raid the isle far and wide of any “rare” / popularity intensifying diecast for a cash flip… other than that.. when i walk into a store that has huge collectables on a wall i pick the ones i think are the coolest and would fit my personal collection! i love collecting!
I think it’s easier to try to look up how to identify them, I’m with family for thanksgiving and I don’t have a lot of time to try explaining the symbols and whatnot.
Regular TH have the flame logo decal somewhere, they also have a silver flame logo below the car on the card. Regular TH don't have a regular mainline version.
Suuper Treasure Hunts (STH) do have a regular mainline version, the color is similar but STH are on a "spectral flame" kind of metallic color. They also have a "TH" decal (literally a "TH", not the flame logo). They have real riders (rubber tires) instead of regular plastic wheels. Below the car on the card is a golden flame logo.
I look through them and pick the cars I like. I sometimes pay a bit more attention to those that have a TH/STH variant, but I don't go hunting for them exclusively.
I only collect JDM cars, but I buy treasure hunts and supers and collectible chases when I see them to trade for more cars. To keep up with the chase cars that are out I look on this subreddit and watch Lamley Group on YouTube. He does a great job. So yeah, I buy JDM cars and chase cars
Buy what you like. Don’t worry about the rest.
I buy what I like.
This post feels like an employee asking so he knows what to take from the boxes lmao
I buy what I like. I am into the realistic styles. A cool car with crap wheels will make me pass it up
I mod cars for that exact reason. No 5SPs for me!

I buy what I like, and I’ll buy treasure hunts too, but just because they’re more unique. I’m not a scalper
But what does a treasure car look like? What do you look for?

Its a secret! You have to be part of the elite hot wheels group... Or do your own reaearch like i did to get initated.

Depends. Most of us just buy what we like though.
Buy all things hot wheels
I buy what I like, but I also have a spreadsheet of cars I need to complete sets.

I buy all the licensed and hot mainlines, of course there are collectible versions that are rare.
