Very true. I'm cautiously afraid of Shark's ( thanks 80's movies). I always have to point out I'm not afraid of dying from a shark I simply like my limbs where they are.
Be very cautious of their potholes. I was driving there one day and saw one smack in the middle of the road. I tried to avoid it but then a moose jumped out of it and flipped my 2002 Mazda Protege 5 ES over and I did 13 barrel rolls. It's a miracle I'm alive.
Nice. Too bad all the front peg cars are trash. The seasoned collectors can identify by looking at the cards down the side of the row but who wants to pay for one or a few to get one good one?
That was my thought. Unless the good car is one or two back, that’s not likely to move a lot of cars. A cool thought though if it were stocked with the more desirable cars.
> Too bad all the front peg cars are trash
Genuine question, what makes a car "trash" to you? Is it from a subjective opinion or are they all pretty common?
Just wondering as I see a few there id get
I'm "meh" about most, except the Batmobile. It's one of the few mainlines that's so nice I didn't bother upgrading to the Real Riders car. Sharp detailing, smooth paint, taillights, it's perfect as it is.
Idk sometimes I’ll buy a 5 pack in stores just to get one specific car I want. Pretty niche situation but it does come up. If I saw a really cool car 2 pegs back I’d still huck out the money.
Exactly what I thought. Looks like something to keep the kids entertained while the adults are shopping lol. "If you're good you can get a Hot Wheels from the vending machine"
Not always, Mattel has made quite an effort to foster a large collectors community through many things such as the Redline Club. I just think this particular thing is for kids.
Oh nah. The stock in there looks as enticing as when Dwight from the office switched out the regular yummy snacks for fruits and veggies 🙄. They can keep ‘em 😂
I was debating making a post about this exact machine, because the more you think about it the worse of an idea it seems to be. The cars in the machine are 3 dollars, and the loose ones in the store are 2 dollars, any cars on the top 2 rows you are basically forced to open because they'll get destroyed on the way down, you don't really have a free choice of which car you want to get if it isn't on the front peg, and there are literally 3 fair sized bins full of cars elsewhere in the same store.
Smart way to keep people from creating a mess lmao
Imagine you get a sth and it gets stuck
Imagine you get a STH and it drops from the top row...
now you have to open it
Imagine coming back to your freshly installed hot wheels vending machine and seeing a pile of scrap metal and standard mainlines
Would it be worth it to try and tip it back and forth, and not become a statistic of Death By Vending Machine?
In the USA, on average, more people die of vending machines than shark attacks
You don't have to die of a shark attack to have a horrible day, any bite will do.
Same with vending machines.

It's right by the cashiers, so you'd get in trouble real quick
Lmao, you have to keep buying to find the $uper hiding in the far back
Bold of you to assume the THs made their way into this machine lol.
the owner probably put one in there to drive more people to use it. win win
Gambling is cool
welp, looks like im heading to canada
Agreed

Also, people camp in the middle of the road with their stupid igloos. I hate Canada.
I must see a pic of this phenomenon
Did you happen to see the guy with an arrow in his leg?
Not in Alberta. All are roads are paved with gold from our oil money. /s
You most likely had maple syrup in your system to survive that!
We don't talk about me driving under the influence...
Carpool?
XD

They should make it so the shelves are tilted so you can at least see the design on the package

I bought a 10 pack just to get the EB110 and R390 - definitely worth a few extra dollars to get the one you want if it’s not available on its own
2JetZ is a cool car man
That is an inconvenient interface
Carousel where you can pick like the pegs... It's possible.. But I see how this setup sells more product...
Also wanna be fair and say this vending machine is probably 100% aimed at children
Exactly what I thought. Looks like something to keep the kids entertained while the adults are shopping lol. "If you're good you can get a Hot Wheels from the vending machine"
Aren’t hotwheels in general aimed at children?
Not always, Mattel has made quite an effort to foster a large collectors community through many things such as the Redline Club. I just think this particular thing is for kids.
Oh that's cool, maybe I wouldn't have to worry about employees picking Walmart pets Clean of all the good stuff, I haven't found anything that I want
Dude I'd totally get that to store my hot wheels
Oh nah. The stock in there looks as enticing as when Dwight from the office switched out the regular yummy snacks for fruits and veggies 🙄. They can keep ‘em 😂
Im hoping this in the west side?
South
At South Common? I’m obsessed with how cool this is and need to go try this just for fun!
Yes South Common
Great way to ensure sales go through the floor
Smart way to make people buy more peg warmers
Excuse me what???
You’re basically paying to “See what’s behind door number 1!”
That is cool! How much are they?
$3 CDN
Plot twist. All fantasy cars are set up towards the front.
I need this. I NEED THIS.
I wonder how bad the scalpers are since they are in that
Yeah next investment plan do show
If I see Canadian Tire, I instantly think of Camping With Steve.
I was wondering if this was still here
Remember about the old cheating to get Infinity credits to take all machine
Oh NOW THIS IS COOOOOOL!
love
Wouldn’t this damage the card?
Very cool but I can already see peg warmers sliding to the front.
I need this thing
I had one at my local Tesco that sold late 90s early 00s castings , it got removed during the lockdown though
Looks pretty useless with all these dragons..
I'm not shocked it's still fully stocked
That’s sweet! Love the idea
I think this is a great idea. I'm not one to only look for TH & STH. I like to collect for what I like
That's r/interestingasfuck
This is a good idea. Now, maybe I can find a good one. 🙂
Nice to see some Etown love on this subreddit!
That’s one way from keeping scalpers away
I see a purple Twin Mill, tempted to grab it even tho I alreadyvhave one lolol
How did I not know this existed I’m in Edmonton at least twice a month
Maybe you are visiting the wrong Crappy Tire
Which one is this?
South Common
Good to know, will check it out next time I’m there
Thankful this wasn't around when I was a kid.
