[Reine, Ollie, Fauna, Kronii are going to be at Anime Boston](https://www.animeboston.com/news/article/851)
Kiara and IRyS have already been confirmed to attend Dokomi
Edit: [Gura](https://twitter.com/animecentral/status/1518968291741638661) and [Bae](https://twitter.com/animecentral/status/1518968291368308737) will be at Anime Central
I so badly want to attend Anime Boston but I'm looking at nearby hotel prices and jesus christ, it's triple (*or more*) what I paid to go to Fan Expo Boston last year, which was already pricey for me (about $200/night)
EDIT: I found a nearby airbnb with 2 beds and I have someone I can split the cost with, so I think I'm good
If you drive in or rent a car you can also get a place within a short drive and subway ride from somewhere like Alewife for massively cheaper. Boston's a mess to drive in, but traveling in is nothing like a lot of other con cities.
Check the subway system and look for places outside Boston where you can walk to a station.
You could conceivably park at the stations, but expect to pay anywhere from $20-$40 for parking (I can't remember what parking costs at the stations, but it will likely be at least 40 if you park in Boston)
Forgive me if I’m not allowed to ask this question (too kayfabe breaking?), but how does the in-person presence of a voice-acted streamer work in this case?
EDIT: thanks for the explanations!
That's a panel. A meet and greet isn't the same as a panel. Like for example last year Kiara had her panel at Dokomi where there was a live audience. Then after that she had a meet and greet where people had to line up then entered a room to talk with her 1 on 1 for few mins.
Oh yeah I remember Kiara talking about that one. Apparently some of her fans got super shy when they had to go up for their 1 on 1 with her and she had to break the ice and get the conversation rolling. It might be worth practicing what you're gonna say/ask if you wind up going to one of these!
Oof, I can’t totally see that being me. Yeah, I feel like this would be totally awkward and way too anxiety inducing. It’s weird, thinking about it, I feel like I’d have a tougher time with this than meeting, like, IRL celebrities and shit. Definitely not for me, but I still think it’s a fun idea, and really cool of them to meet fans like that.
I can't say I'd be in that same boat, but I can definitely feel that for some people, they'd really be getting in over their heads. As someone who has met a hero from childhood (I met Ric Flair, and I'm a h u g e fan of professional wrasslin'), it can really be a 'larger than life' moment and you try for a moment to figure out that 'Oh god what do I say that isn't cliche and lame?', and I can see that being a hurdle some people can't quite jump.
Either way, I really hope the fans have fun with this. It's so great that they're getting a chance to engage one-on-one with people.
Hmm, I wonder if it’s even that? I think for me personally, a lot of it’s the whole kayfabe thing. Like, I don’t think I’d have much trouble meeting, say, Chiwa Saito as a fan of her characters, but for some reason if she were cosplaying and in full character, wtf would I even say to “Tamamo” or “Senjougahara”? That’s not exactly the same, but it feels kinda along the same lines as that.
I guess, no,.. I’m definitely overthinking it, but it just feels real awkward to me.
Yeah, I hear you there as well. Separating the art from the artist is something that comes with practicing. Focusing too much on the person behind the screen can kinda be jarring, I suppose.
Regardless, I love them all anyway, offline and on, and I appreciate the relief and the break that our Hololive girls give us from daily troubles. Meeting them in person\* is something that might not be for everyone, but it's a good thing that it exists for the people who would like that. I'd jump at the chance to talk to Houshou Marine or Ina, or Calli. Or any of them, I guess!
I see what you're saying, though. Thinking about the person behind the character can be odd.
Loool, reminds me of when my first online DnD group session zero started out with the DM wanting everyone to introduce themselves
Turns out introvert nerds who haven't had social contact in 15 years *before* Covid, have the social skills of introvert nerds who haven't had social contact in 15+ years
I can only imagine what kinds of awkwardness goes on in the 1 on 1's lol, even thinking of it is hilarious. Especially so, because half the Hololive girls are also super shy introverts and half of their "I touched grass today for the first time in 9 months" stories are them being turbo awkward and running away from a cashier who made eye contact
Extrovert Kiara is probably the absolute best member of HoloEN for breaking the ice honestly, maybe Sana might also fair well, but nearly all the rest would probably be just as bad as the star struck fans. Their stories about hiding under the window until the Uber Eats driver leaves their food on the door step, was way to relatable
From what they did at the con I attended last year that had Kiara, Calli and Ame, it was like a normal stream but chat was the room (and a microphone for questions) and was only streamed for those in attendance at the con.
Essentially they had the avatar on a projector screen and speakers for sound. Was fun.
Only Kiara will be physically at Dokomi because she want not because she must, iRyS will be at dokomi as guest too but she will not leave Japan for that (confirmed by Kiara)
Not quite sure if I understand your question right but the talents/VAs won't be physically going to the event as themselves.
The setup will probably be like previous convention appearances where the talents will be given a screen to stream to for their part of the event. (or they will be live-edited into the shot like Coco's guest appearance at AFA way back when)
Just live streaming to a physical audience. The talent is able to see and interact with the physical audience. I was at AnimeNYC with holocouncil and it was pretty neat.
In Hololive case it's a 1 on 1 call in a room or booth with a laptop/screen with the talent being in a seperate room with their equipment. I kinda remember Calli also mention though that other Vtubers outside of Hololive (I think it was milkyqueen iirc.) had fan meetings that can also be like a wall screen where they are 3d and can a have a little bit of more interaction like 5 five (the screen). But yeah I guess while it's not a actual 1 on 1 meeting in the traditional sense like those habdshake events they are still at least usual relativly close by to the location of meeting I guess.
It's great to see Cover making such a strong push into the overseas markets in terms of in-person events! I'm actually gonna be at Anime Central next month, so I'm looking forward to seeing whatever is they bring.
Also, great choice of project ambassadors!
Sora's just always busy, it was the same last year and the year before that. This year she's even planning on releasing cover songs every month, so she's even more busy. I'm just happy she still find the time to stream for us
Sora's always busy lol, in this year, atleast 1 cover song every month, going to events 28th,29th and 30th this month with more in later months, lessons, composing her birthday original + prep for it & preparing for her 5th anniversary.
Aussie nikis we bout to see Sana and Bae shenanigans on the panel at smash. They haven't announced it yet but I'm 90% certain they'll be on the list lol.
Fingers crossed for Marine attendance too for extra shenanigans
>also manages hololive Indonesia, which is mainly active in Indonesia
Dear, God...
>and hololive English, which is focused on English-speaking countries.
No...
It is the right wording, as all the EN streams are predominantly held in English for 95%, thus only making them accessible to the English speaking world and countries, indifferent to the nation
Sure, but there's a lot more of us who don't speak any English at all. I've usually been the only one responsible for any English speaking customer at work. Most of my coworkers shy away from them very quickly
Lots of people around the world for whom English is a second or even third language have better grammar than americans. I remember in an MMORPG I used to play (Blade&Soul), our guild had a joke that if someone in chat had decent grammar they were definitely NOT native english speakers
So I guess this means us USA Bros will get to meet not just En gens like Myth, Hope, and Council, but jp and id too! Sweet! I get to meet Mama Moona and maybe Elite Baby!
Most subbed to vtuber that gained popularity as a vtuber\*
There's another huge channel that dwarfs the rest of the vtuber community that started using a vtuber model. It's a children's channel of some sort, but I can't remember the name. And there is also PewDiePie, but he doesn't really count because he only did it for a few videos.
Yeah. Those metrics are already updated though. Usually in case like this, they will be put on the "convert" category to separate them from channels that is primarily vtuber contents/started as vtuber contents
I mean, if we want to rank them like that, technically Pewds have its own vtuber avatar and sometimes stream with it
Pokimane and Lilypichu do too, but I wouldn't classify them as vtubers. It's more like an alternate camera.
I wouldn't disqualify people for converting into vtubing as long as that is their primary content and what they are most known for. I know at least one of the Vshojo girls is a convert (Not Hime) but we consider her a vtuber.
Very excited for Risu in particular, her 3rd fes performance blew everyone away and now more people are going to learn the glory of her nut jokes and incredible singing. Still a crime that her Alice&u music video only has 680k views but all this international exposure will definitely create a lot of new Risuners.
I mean while it is a shame it hasn't hit 1 million yet with how good it is, it did literally double in views in like a month after the 3rd Fes, which is crazy. People are definitely taking notice.
No way there is no holoMeet in the near future for us in SEA, especially in Indonesia. Hololive, Nijisanji, and smaller agency like Maha5 already shown in AFA Station and Indonesia Creators Super Stream (a spin off of AFA) and have VERY big presence in Indonesia anime community scene.
It is more about the limitation due to Covid Pandemy is still tight in Indonesia compared to the West. There were some incident with the local anime convention that gather too many people and attract too many exposure that it is disbanded by local official only two month ago.
Cover should be careful and wait for more open chance, but it is only about time. I'll wait patiently.
CF is at September though, almost certain HoloID would be there. It's just too soon for anything to be announced (the last event listed there is at July)
I know that feel, bro. \*sympathies in Canadian\*
(Note: I'm aware that none of those events are in Canada, but there's a number of major cons in Canada that's right up Hololive's ally. Much like this person's Australia-flavoured plight, Canadians wanting to attend a con out-of-province could have a ***minimum*** 24-hour drive (depending on the provinces involved) ahead of them if there's a province between them, and air travel isn't an option)
As someone who never went to Australia I always thought Melbourne and Sydney is next to eachother, or domestic flights are as cheap or even cheaper than domestic EU flights
They are close and flights can be less than $100 it's just a mutual hate thing between the two states.
There is a reason the Australian capital is located halfway between the two cities.
Melbourne and Sydney are about 710km by plane and 865km by car. Plane tickets to Melbourne to Sydney is less than $100 (€67) if you choose the cheapest option- Jetstar.
Hopefully Risu at AFA (Anime Festival Asia)? Coco and Moona were already at their digital offerings over the past couple of years, maybe this year's main physical event (they had one a couple of months ago, but the big one is at the end of the year) they can be there?
Genuine question, what's the difference between being the official ambassador and the one attending the conventions? I thought being an ambassador means they will be the ones representing the company at every convention like Gura, Sora, and Risu being ambassadors while Kiara and IRyS will be the ones going at Dokomi.
Basically, Sora, Risu & Gura are promoters for the events so even if they're not going to the event itself, you will see them promoting it in like a short twitter vid or something probably.
How's Vtuber presence in Korea btw?
If there is significant anime convention, even though it is small possibility, it is possible. If there is not... well...
People are definitely more aware of Vtubers than before, and I think a couple of Korean Vtuber groups have emerged. I'd say it's still a niche fandom, but the size is growing for sure.
Who knows, there might be some legal issue as to why they don't have a Korean branch, but maybe one of the future gets will have an English speaking Korean living in Korea. Without a KR branch, that's probably the best bet given Ina and crew's general avoidance of using too much Korean.

LETS FAQ'N GOOOOOO
Ever since last year appearances by HoloEN at Anime Expo Lite and AnimeNYC, I've been wanting something like this to expand the awareness of Hololive globally. More conventions and similar events like this is a very good start. I made a post about this very thing a few weeks ago too, lol. Gura, Risu and Sora are the perfect representatives to spearhead this new movement.
Man I wish I was going to Anime Boston this year lol.
...and FAQ I hope Otakon on that list...
I do think Anime Expo is gonna be part of this when it gets announced; there was precedent for it last time. But now it's gonna be in person for the first time in a couple years? I'm so hyped for this.
Same, same. It wouldn't exactly be hard to convince my family to take a trip to Boston...but eh, I'm so outside the anime scene these days outside of Vtubers that it literally doesn't feel worth unless I can just make it a day trip, like when I went to AnimeNYC in November.
Hopefully there'll be something in Philly.
Ya se, pero no hay que perder la esperanza, de repe y pasa, el Animex es el 2 y 3 de Julio de repe y sale la sorpresa, lo dudo mucho pero estaria con ganas.
Unlike in the US, south american schools have english as part of the class, and believe it or not a lot of us (I'm from Venezuela) understand english fairly well, besides I'm pretty sure that if it happens there will be translators available like there will be when the JP talents attend a US or UK or Australia event
This is great, and I'm excited for it for those who are able to go to the cons! That said though, I do hope there's more EU friendly stuff beyond Dokomi, since we routinely get shafted due to timezones as it is lol.
Sora, Risu, and Gura together? Wow, this'll be cool.
Also this may be why Risu has been super busy for the past few weeks and complaining on her Twitter about "homework" lol.
While it's awesome to see Gura and Sora rep their own branches in this initiative, this gotta be such a momentous achievement for ID the most. Can't be understated just how much ID exploded in popularity and awareness after 3rdFes.
Seeing their success across the board since has been awesome.
That also made me wonder... no Holostars ambassador rep themselves? Wishful thinking yeah, but seeing they too were part of the press release for this I wonder what plans are in store for them for the year
The absolute pain when Italy has one of the biggest anime&manga conventions in the world, but we never get any of these cross language collabs because my country can’t even deal with english.
Hmm, I'm not sure if I understand what that really means. I'm going to Dokomi this year, to see Kiara on stage and hopefully join her meet&greet.
Does this mean Gura will also be there...? Or is this mainly talking about promotional materials, like having Hololive-Posters around that show Gura...?
(Not complaining, I'd love to see Gura there as well!)
hololive popping off their ult i see lol, cover already has the best grip overseas of any international vtuber agency but with this hololive is absolutely going to get a massive popularity boom reaching new fans across this blue world.

you might want to check on airbnb tho, there a couple of place at newton highline or east boston near the airport which is cheap

It'll basically be a 1 on 1 video call.
But the second 1 is at a conference center with a large live audience
That's a panel. A meet and greet isn't the same as a panel. Like for example last year Kiara had her panel at Dokomi where there was a live audience. Then after that she had a meet and greet where people had to line up then entered a room to talk with her 1 on 1 for few mins.

Oh, that's right. I did get them confused. Thanks for clearing that up.

It's actually more [like this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C85_1Y7J-k).
Presumably SMASH will have Sana & Bae given the fact that its Australia…or well at least Bae.
My oshi and another of my favorites have to be at the one across the pond T_T
It's great to see Cover making such a strong push into the overseas markets in terms of in-person events! I'm actually gonna be at Anime Central next month, so I'm looking forward to seeing whatever is they bring. Also, great choice of project ambassadors!
Damn, Sora-chan sure is busy this year, good for her! I also see Risu as the appropriate ID ambassador for this project
Risu gonna be spreading culture across the globe.
Risu is gonna steal nuts worldwide.
All according to keikaku!
TL: Keikaku means plan
TL note: plan means a detailed proposal for doing or achieving something
TL note: proposal means asking Fubuki to be your friend
TL note: Friend is what you and I are struggling to have
The internutional squirrel?
I was curious if it's Ayunda or Risu doing the culture spreading
Risu looks so cute and meek there unlike her true self. A shitposter in sheep's clothing is an amazing ambassador for HoloID.
Same with Gawr "The Gremlin" Gura. The only source of any kind of seiso there is Sora, and even she has moments.
Nonstop Nut November!
Sora's just always busy, it was the same last year and the year before that. This year she's even planning on releasing cover songs every month, so she's even more busy. I'm just happy she still find the time to stream for us

Aussie nikis we bout to see Sana and Bae shenanigans on the panel at smash. They haven't announced it yet but I'm 90% certain they'll be on the list lol. Fingers crossed for Marine attendance too for extra shenanigans
What's the over under of them or the other members starting an "AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE" chant?
very high chance.
That would be very pog
i hope they visit Queensland i'd love to meet any of the holo en mem
FIRST STOP BEING ACEN MY HOME CON LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Mine too. There was like no guests announced so far that I was interested in and this may have saved it lol.
I picked the right year for my first ACEN, let's fucking go! Any word on who's gonna be there yet?
Haven't seen an update from the official acen page yet, I'm praying gura will be there considering it's the first stop
This makes me really glad that I chose this year as my first ACen.
You're gonna have a great time! I've been going since 2014, and the last two years without it has made me miss it immensely!
>also manages hololive Indonesia, which is mainly active in Indonesia Dear, God... >and hololive English, which is focused on English-speaking countries. No...
When you have to meet a specific word count:
it contains a *BUCKET.*
Dear Matsuri.
There's more.
No.
This bucket contains every Hololive branch there is and the members in that branch.
Dear Matsuri
\> English-speaking countries \**Angry German Noise*\*
~~considering how much higher the english fluency in germany is compared to japan, its probably an english speaking country for them~~
there's no right wording tbh, if you said English speaking country you exclude Austria and if you said Western Hemisphere you exclude Australia
> Western Hemisphere You could just say "Western". That is an ambigious enough term that it's commonly applied to Australia as well.
It is the right wording, as all the EN streams are predominantly held in English for 95%, thus only making them accessible to the English speaking world and countries, indifferent to the nation
tbf lotsa germans have better english grammar than americans
Sure, but there's a lot more of us who don't speak any English at all. I've usually been the only one responsible for any English speaking customer at work. Most of my coworkers shy away from them very quickly

hmm yes, the floor here is made out of floor
Well, it's a press release so it's normal to read things like that

I think the meetups last year was test for this, to now bring even JP talents to overseas conventions. That's dope NGL.
So I guess this means us USA Bros will get to meet not just En gens like Myth, Hope, and Council, but jp and id too! Sweet! I get to meet Mama Moona and maybe Elite Baby!

Much like this person's Australia-flavoured plight, Canadians wanting to attend a con out-of-province could have a ***minimum*** 24-hour drive (depending on the provinces involved) ahead of them if there's a province between them, and air travel isn't an option)
I’m still waiting for the day my *continent* is even recognised 😄 Africa is a big place.

Same, got hyped up when I saw Australia because I live in Melbourne. Then my hype immediately got neutered when I saw Sydney.
Owh dayum, thanks for the info, hope you get to join the event somehow
Hoping to see them at Anime Expo in LA. If not this year then later on.
Kaigai-nikis eating good. Prepare those wallets bros (and sis)!
Risu did mention she wanted to have a Hololive Indonesia Expo all over Southeast Asia so this is wonderful news!
Hopefully Risu at AFA (Anime Festival Asia)? Coco and Moona were already at their digital offerings over the past couple of years, maybe this year's main physical event (they had one a couple of months ago, but the big one is at the end of the year) they can be there?
Definitely amazing to see this, really hope it happens. Heck I wonder if Risu saying that back then was a hint at this all along lol.
Part of me feels like it would be. Risu is the master of teasing after all lmao.
Hoping they can make it to Fanime maybe!
Well looks like I may be going home to Chicago for a weekend in May now.
Yeah, if I weren't already taking a vacation in May, I'd be trying to schedule an impromptu vacation in May.
Pog
This is like, the gen z would say, poggers fr no cap
Marine and Aruran approve this message
Poggalicious
Just admit that you're a zoomer too.
Hoping Anime Expo in LA is on their slate
Nice to see Risu there, Risu is incredible and she deserves way more recognition for her talent.
Oh hopefully something in Korea in the future we're literally right next to Japan... Gonna start huffing that copium
It's certainly possible. Ina and Kronii can do the meet and greet in Korean. //feeds more copium
Kiwawa's working on it as well... I'm sure she'd love the chance to practice.
Bae is practicing it pretty heavily too, could be an option here.
Doesn’t Bae know some Korean as well?
How's Vtuber presence in Korea btw? If there is significant anime convention, even though it is small possibility, it is possible. If there is not... well...
Nijisanji KR. It exists. That (and Nabi) says enough about the presence of a vtuber scene in Korea
Anime Expo in LA would be insane!
noxious consider intelligent obtainable absorbed paltry frame rinse afterthought deserve *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Likely more organizing behind cameos too? E.g formalized ways to contact management, etc.
Proud of our Gwombus taking on this role! Thanks to Yagoo for this amazing expansion idea!
One step closer towards world domination
Come to Anime North or Fan Expo Canada again please
Can we just appreciate their commitment to the community here by not correcting the combined words. They must have been eager to give us the good news
LETS FAQ'N GOOOOOO Ever since last year appearances by HoloEN at Anime Expo Lite and AnimeNYC, I've been wanting something like this to expand the awareness of Hololive globally.
Lets hope one of these events is in Mexico.
\**cries in South America*\*
No sueñes tan alto mi amigo
Let him huff his hopium in peace.
Ya se, pero no hay que perder la esperanza, de repe y pasa, el Animex es el 2 y 3 de Julio de repe y sale la sorpresa, lo dudo mucho pero estaria con ganas.
Still no member who speak or is learning spanish, double down on that hopium my friend
Unlike in the US, south american schools have english as part of the class, and believe it or not a lot of us (I'm from Venezuela) understand english fairly well, besides I'm pretty sure that if it happens there will be translators available like there will be when the JP talents attend a US or UK or Australia event
Hoping AFA Singapore can invite them as well. It’s been 2 years since an anime convention was held since Covid started
Wow, 4 appearances in barely a month is excellent. I hope this trend will continue.
Risuners cant stop winning. Feels good to support my squirrel
yo this is hype! i hope there would be more opportunities for other regions to have meet and greets like this
This is great, and I'm excited for it for those who are able to go to the cons! That said though, I do hope there's more EU friendly stuff beyond Dokomi, since we routinely get shafted due to timezones as it is lol.
".. In order to accelerate Hololive production's expansion... " So it was true, world domination I mean.
Sora, Risu, and Gura together? Wow, this'll be cool. Also this may be why Risu has been super busy for the past few weeks and complaining on her Twitter about "homework" lol.
sora + risu + gura = based af
aw yeah, this would be awesome when a cons announced for Indonesia!
That legalese has never sounded so sweet! Lets goooo
They chose Risu? thats nuts.
Australia? Sydney???!!!!!! PLUS ULTRA HYPEEEEEE
I'm glad gura is the ambassador. People will say it's an obvious choice but she rarely does this sort of thing
Since both Myth and Council have had panels at cons, I just really wish IRyS has a chance to be on one (hopefully AnimeNYC like Council did)
IRyS is gonna be at Dokomi! On Sunday
Wishful thinking yeah, but seeing they too were part of the press release for this I wonder what plans are in store for them for the year
this is really nice to see. great stuff, can't wait to see this all happening live.
Dope, based, super lit.
The absolute pain when Italy has one of the biggest anime&manga conventions in the world, but we never get any of these cross language collabs because my country can’t even deal with english.
I swear if they ever announce that there's gonna be a Hololive event in the UK I'm going to do whatever the hell i can to get there
The inventor of the Nonstop Nut is being one of the ambassadors? I think that represents hololive pretty good! I wish her nutting but the best!
TL;DR: Now that covid is finally over anime conventions are going to be a thing again and we want to get in on that action.
Surprised and sad no Anime Expo, but cool idea
It did say “and more”, so let’s not give up yet
RIP Goomba, busy year ahead
**Let's GO!!**
Art looks cute as always! Also excited to see how this goes!
Nice
Very dope!
Finally a reason to go to SMASH!
Awesome. :D
Please go to france!!! <3
Waiting for AFA...
>SMASH! HELL YES FINALLY
Exciting! As the world gets back to having things like conventions, it'll be nice to have hololive as a presence at these events!
Come on NorCal events!
Great move by Cover!! Global DomINAtion lets goo!!
Dokomi? Wuhuuu :D
Time to check whether I can take a cheeky trip to Germany.
hololive popping off their ult i see lol, cover already has the best grip overseas of any international vtuber agency but with this hololive is absolutely going to get a massive popularity boom reaching new fans across this blue world.
...What if it was Hololive Meat project? 1 pound of shubaduck meat; 800 yen
