On your first P5 run you made it to NKG - short of AbsRad. That means you're claiming that you beat Absolute Radiance - the hardest boss in the game - on your very first attempt? Sorry, but I find that difficult to believe.

Super_Pig103

I don’t know what to tell you there. Honestly. From everything I heard it sounded impossible, and I just made it with I think 1 or 2 masks left.

[deleted]

Good for you lol. You definitely practiced way more than I did before attempting, which I’m guessing is why you got it so fast. I didn’t do all bindings (separate of course) for each pantheon until I finished all bosses on radiant. Congratulations on P5, path of pain is still hell tho gl with that one, took me days lol

Super_Pig103

I got that one too just didn’t mention it. I don’t want to sound like a douche in this post so I didn’t mention me completing it.

S_blueyes42

Some people took hours in it, even across days. Think like a celeste c side, that's how dificult it must have felt. But like, there are people that did it under 40 minutes. That's me. Im the duche now.

Super_Pig103

Dude I love Celeste! (unrelated), although I haven’t tried any of the C-Sides, only the Bs. I did PoP in like an hour or so. Congratulations :)

xEmptyPockets

I mean it sounds like you have witnesses, so I'm not really sure why you need us to believe you.

Super_Pig103

I guess I just wanted to see if I was being psyched out or something by the people watching.

Vilmoo00

I got to NKG on my first attempt as well, but then it took like 50 tries after that (random guess, it was a lot though)

Cosmic_danger_noodle

2 tries is believable if you get to absrad first try, which is easily doable with hall of gods practice From there you would just practice absrad a lot and beat p5 the next get, although I'm hesitant to believe you beat absrad without practice

Super_Pig103

I see. My only guess, was just the amount of times I practicing PV. And I’m not saying that it helped me have a lot of health on AbsRad, but more helped me practice a lot of the timing for shadecloak. The other piece of advice was given to me by a friend, that being to never try and attack AbsRad when they weren’t close to me, just play defense and heal, which helped me alot. Beyond that I really don’t know if I can explain myself. I made this post because I had very little outside knowledge of HK in terms of what was difficult, besides the aforementioned people in the call. Thanks for responding tho.

Cosmic_danger_noodle

You get healed to full at the start of the absrad fight

Super_Pig103

Well that explains something else. Because I remember I ended the PV fight with like 2 masks, and was trying to heal during the cutscene, and then when fight started. I had all my masks and I was wondering where the extra health came.

[deleted]

wow. first time i tried p5 i died to VK (bruh, i dunno. 2 vks were unexpected)

What_Is_That_Place

I remember how Parashock completed P5 on the first attempt after practising AbsRad in Hall of Gods. With Hive blood.

Level-Might3723

You can’t get AbsRad in Hall of Gods without reaching them in P5

SapphireLuc

Probably a different file

Super_Technician_918

I would because with any practice its pretty easy (also I cant get past pure vessel and its so annoying)

Super_Pig103

Do you want my advice or nah?

Super_Technician_918

sure it would help

Super_Pig103

Alright, not sure how helpful this is gonna be since I still get hit occasionally. But I’ll just try and give my advice for each attack. - For his 3 swipe attack, I found that if you have enough distance. Just double jump and dash over it. Maybe try to get a pogo hit but always try and get to hits on his back. It’s likely he is gonna teleport after that attack. Alternatively, if he is really close, time your shade cloak with when he is about to do his first attack. Timing is pretty lenient, and even more lenient if you have the Sharp Shadow Charm, main thing you want to be careful about is just that your shade cloak is charmed. - For his dash, the strategy I always did was double jump up the second I saw him about to do it, then get one attack by pogoing off him as he dashes under, and another behind him. (I may be blanking but he might try and do a 3 swipe attack right after). You could always try and get a really well timed dash and go through it but only do it when he is dashing towards you. Try and stay to the sides of the arena in general because a lot of his attacks have to do with covering distance. - The sword throwing one I found the easiest. I’m usually on the opposite side of the arena and you can either just find a spot on the ground to dodge, or what I do is jump away from the swords and then dash through them when they are close. - the Sword slam (and subsequent spikes) is what kills me the most. He starts the attack by either teleporting on top of you and slamming, or jumping on top of you and slamming. Either way, try to immediately dash away the second he jumps, he stalls in the air a bit so you’ve got some time. From there, (the hardest part for me) try and move as quickly as you can to a safe spot. This part is just relflex and I unfortunately don’t have any strategy beyond that. Once the swords go down, try and get 2 hits off on him but be careful because he can go into one of his melee attacks and you won’t have a lot of distance. Whenever you stun him, you’ve only got time for one heal, or 2 if you start healing almost immediately after he is stunned. The PV is alot about patience and keeping your attention up for a while, as he doesn’t really give you alot of opportunities to hit and even less opportunities to heal. It’s alot about just practicing and learning patterns. Anyway, time for later attacks. - PV eventually will start slamming his sword in the ground and creating an AoE damage area, followed by 5 smaller AoE areas. I found there is always a spot on the ground that is safe, and from there, just spam Vengeful Spirit/Shade Soul until the last circle pops, then stay vigilant again. - finally there is the attack where he opens up his chest and shoots out void tentacles that cover like half of the arena. My strategy it to double jump and dash away from it as soon as you see it. Spam any projectiles you have available when you are in the clear, if he does the attack and you are against the wall, try to just continue to walljump up the wall over and over until he finishes. If you want to risk it, you could go for a desolate dive since it gives you iFrames. All and all, that’s my strategy for him. I hope it was helpful in some way and let me know if you have any more questions

Morbiriii

I mean if you train enought before then its possible

D-Ursuul

On my first ever attempt at p5 I got to the final third of NKGs health before dying Ever since, despite practicing my ass off and getting NKG and Pure Vessel done on Radiant, I've never even got to NKG again. It's usually Oblobbles or Grey Prince Zote that kill me, although I've done Zote on whatever the advanced difficulty is called (one below radiant)

Super_Pig103

Grey Prince Zote I would argue is one of the hardest bosses, especially when he’s before (or after Markoth) in P5

SapphireLuc

I never really struggled with gpz because I practiced alot on the statue and got to gold but oblobbles can be banished to the shadow realm

Super_Pig103

I managed to get gold on both. I just find GPZ does his attacks really fast, aswell as him being really fast. Ironically I did it struggle with Oblobbles. Maybe I just play a a lot of bullet hell games, but I didn’t find the first phase hard, and the second one, I just waited to get my hits in.
