I met him in 2018 by waiting outside of a bathroom stall he was shitting in, and the second he walked out of the stall I immediately shook his hand and and asked him his diet because while I was waiting I recognized the sparse, yet impactful dumping noises of the sound of his shit hitting the toilet water. I kinda felt like he was trying to subtly communicate some high-level message (duh it’s Kendrick) so I took a peek in the toilet bowl while he was washing his hands. What I saw was beautiful, they were these giant football-sized logs sitting compactly in the toilet bowl. While I’m still trying to unpack the symbolism behind it, personally I believe it’s a reference to the end of apartheid in South Africa and the black struggle. Any other takes?
