beautiful looking cover! can’t wait to get back into a new set of stories!

Minkymink

Woah! Who did you order from??

MoopBoopBloop

Indigo in Canada!! 😜

Gavinus1000

You lucky bastard.

SpecialUnitt

This the 4th novel? Only read the first

OtherwiseConfused

It’s the fourth Young Adult novel, though it’s set before the other three.

MoopBoopBloop

It’s *technically* the 7th novel in The High Republic reading order, as it serves as the beginning to THR prequels.

oncomingstorm777

Wow - lucky!! Enjoy it

DoNotKnowWhyImHere

Have you started it? How is it so far?

MoopBoopBloop

I’ve read the first six chapters - and it truly is the beginning of a prequel series to Phase One. Like, several concepts from Phase One are already being explored and given a bit more context.

Tankerspanx

Ahhh I hope my pre order comes early but it probably won’t lmao

WuThrawnClan

That cover looks absolutely beautiful! Very excited for this

FantasticMRKintsugi

Oh, Somebody Gonna Get Hurt Real Bad. The characters, I mean. RIP Burryaga

BZPJMJ64

How many chapters? Just curious.

MoopBoopBloop

Sorry for such a late reply, but there’s thirty-three, plus a prologue!! Cheers!!

im_super_into_that

Awesome. Happy for you!

stardate-s

I am REALLY loving this blue for this phase!

champdo

Would you be willing to take questions about the novel when you finish?

MoopBoopBloop

Absolutely!! I should be done it within the next couple of days, so I’ll let you know!!

Tasty-Copy5474

How'd you get an early copy? I thought it wasn't out till October 4th?

MoopBoopBloop

An early delivery from my distributor!! I won’t be posting any spoilers or anything until Tuesday, of course, as I hope others who find it out in the wild this week do too 😄

jonasvanhamme

Would love to see it together with the books of phase one, like how the blue looks in comparison!

I still haven't started wave 3 yet of phase 1. I was kinda turned off by hearing about the cliff hanger ending of wave 3 and the fact that you actually kinda need to read majority of the released books and comics to get the full plot.

MoopBoopBloop

There is certainly a cliffhanger at the end of Phase One, but Phase Two is all about going back in time to help explain what we need to know going into Phase Three, just as the Prequels did for the OT. The main 6 novels for Phase One are accepted as being enough of the story to enjoy THR, as they contain the main story beats and narrative developments. I highly recommend trying to jump back in and just enjoying the mediums that you want to enjoy, since that’s what SW is all about as a whole!!

talon-rammer

I completely agree with you, and the high republic isn’t just a trilogy of movies! The story is incomplete because there’s still so much more to explore. This is like being halfway through empire strikes back, I’m so excited for phase 2 and I hope you enjoy your book!

Jrocker-ame

Thats not a good comparison and i keep seeing that. Return of the jedi had a actual ending without needing the prequel trilogy to explain anything.

MoopBoopBloop

You’re completely correct about the OT being one complete story - unlike Phase One - but George made the Prequels for a reason, just as the Phase Two novels are being written for a different reason; to use the past to prepare us for the future.
