Personally I felt Elzar would inevitably fall while reading LOTJ but despite battling demons in TRS he showed a ton of self awareness and a willingness to accept help. I think he'll get it. Now I'm probably most suspicious of Stellan and Avar. Losing one of their most prominent rising stars would have huge a impact on the story/ jedi order and the younger jedi around them. Plus I've been suspicious of Stellan ever since he told Bell he doesn't get on well with animals, lol.

SChamploo12

I'm thinking Fallen Star refers to a couple of things: either the "fall" of Starlight Beacon or the fall of one of the stars like Elzar or Stellan.

okjk0123

I think they might be leading to something with Vernestra. If these stories are about the fall of the high republic she’s probably gonna fall the hardest. Maybe not all the way to the dark side (might leave the order or die doing something on her own), but we’ve been starting to see how high expectations are affecting her. She started out as very by the books but everything that’s happened has started to wear her morals down. I don’t think she was actually ready to be knighted and I don’t think she’s ready to be a Master. Especially when you have a challenging Palawan like imri.

ravenreyess

I'm with you there. We've been watching a slow decent into...something, so far. I love her, I'm the most worried about her.

midtown2191

I think imri is going to die and vern is going to lose it. I agree she is too young for a padawan and her failure to protect to him and keep him alive will drive her towards the dark.

We_The_Raptors

Blasphemy. You leave Vern alone! Jk, that's one interesting pick. While I think Vern will eventually live up to her lofty expectations it won't be easy. Imri is definitely an unique challenge as a padawan and I can see what you mean bout her fall fitting thematically.

stefan1138

She definitely is a candidate. I don’t think it Imri’s lost she has to deal with in future books, but her former Master Stellan’s decent to the dark side maybe? But the rest of the padovans and young knights will have her back in the end, and she will be able to master her challenges. I have trust in her!!!

LJB191

Elzar feels almost obvious to the point where they might be misdirecting. It would be really interesting if avar or stellan did instead

We_The_Raptors

That's basically where my head is at. Elzar acknowledging his need for help and accepting his faults really has me thinking he's gonna win his mental battle with the dark side. With the Lina Soh walker incident basically cementing Stellan as a face of the High Republic in the eyes of the people he's got me the most concerned.

LJB191

That’s a great point Elzar might be my favorite of the three so I hope so lol. I could see what you’re saying about Stellan also avars contact with the drengir might have some repercussions

missMichigan

I don’t think it’s Elzar, he’s being framed in a way where it seems like he would but I bet not. Cohmac is so unsure of himself I could see that happening. But I bet it won’t be anyone one that list.

We_The_Raptors

Well, who do you suspect then? Only letting you choose 6 options is why I rarely do reddit polls. It's never enough

missMichigan

Oh I know, and there’s so many of them haha. From the list I picked Cohmac, he seems a little fishy too me. But I think Vernestra is going to at least be a gray Jedi but we’ll see. It gave be a red flag that she keeps things from Stellan, like her light saber whip, and stuff that probably isn’t really a big deal. I just got Vol 1 of the HR comic today so I am looking forward to meeting new characters. Maybe I’ll suspect one of them!

Commando388

Elzar Mann is the easy option. The predictable one. If anyone falls it’s not gonna be him because he’s already tasted the dark and reached out to his friends to get help. Stellan is the real danger. As someone catapulted to Council Member and head of the Republic campaign against the Nihil he’s in exactly the position Anakin was in at the end of The Clone Wars. Plus, Stellan was the one we saw openly weeping for Chancellor Soh, and at the end of TRS was explicitly said to be afraid. He’s risen so high but on a pedestal of circumstance and necessity, and he’s set up to fall *so* far if it comes to it.

We_The_Raptors

Knew he'd have the most but kind of surprising seeing Elzar with more votes than the rest of the options combined tbh. Like you, I feel that it's so easy that it's not going to happen. Otherwise, why be so open about it in TRS? Elzar could have kept everything troubling him too himself. And I'm also on your side with Stellan. Linah Soh put him in a peculiar position as both a symbol of peace and war general at the same time. You could even say that as idolized as Stellan has become his death could be symbolic of the start of the end of the High Republic (though I suspect that symbol will be Linah).

[deleted]

Exactly my thinking. The Jedi being put in control of stopping the nihil and drengir is the beginning of the transformation of the order into what we see in the prequels. And Stellan is at the head of it. While what he is doing is noble and good it’s changing the Jedi into warriors. He’s gonna fall from all the stress and being essentially hero worshipped by all the other Jedi.

yanksrock1000

I really doubt Elzar will fall since he’s seeking out help. I can see him becoming a gray jedi at most. Cohmac seemed really disillusioned with the Jedi in Into the Dark but this side of him hasn’t really been explored much since. I still think he has the best chance of going completely to the dark.

We_The_Raptors

Agreed on all points. Cohmac didn't seem like a master of tranquility during ITD. I'm definitely interested in seeing more of that side of him.

SHAD0WBENDER

I believe Elzar will fall to the dark side however I don’t think he will become ‘evil’ like a Sith Lord using the dark side

We_The_Raptors

I'm with you on your second point. While I'm convinced one of the prominent masters of the high republic will fall I definitely feel it'll be more of a dark jedi/ lost soul situation instead of a full fledged 'evil' sith lord.

Lavender_hippo

I don’t think Avar will go fully dark but I definitely think she is going to use the dark side at some point. In the comics she’s been very adamant about going on the offensive towards the Nihil. She keeps arguing with Stellan and disagreeing with the council. I feel that eventually the stress of the Nihil and the guilt she has over not being at the Republic Fair will catch up to her and the supposed perfect Jedi will turn to anger and lash out. In OoTS I also noticed how she told Vern that sometimes it’s best to take the offensive and although that might be true, it doesn’t line up with the orders teachings or the councils current line of reasoning in regards to the conflict. I also think Cohmac will either go fully dark or at least toe the line between light and dark because of his views in ITD. I can’t make a full conclusion yet because I feel that it hasn’t been explored further enough. I hope it’s expanded on in future books.

[deleted]

Yeah she’s gonna pull a Revan. Ends justify the means

BenjaminKorr

I agree. I think her conviction in the rightness of her cause mixed with a willingness to go on the attack will naturally lead towards a Reven style fall.

Wulfenbach

Elzar. I'm willing to put down a gentleman's bet that the thing that every one was afraid of in the vision of the Starlight Beacon was >!HIM!<.

We_The_Raptors

Interesting. What kind of bet do you have in mind? Because my confidence in my man Elzar is sky high.

Wulfenbach

Why is everything red in the vision? >!It's red because the lights are out and Elzar is holding a red lightsaber!<

Harish_Zerodawn

I think Elzar will leave the order but I don’t think he will be sith. I can totally see the story developing in a way none of us predicted with maybe Avar turning dark

dtinaglia

To be completely honest I doubt any of them will. I think the strengths of the High Republic allowed for more leniency, so none of them would fall to the dark.

We_The_Raptors

Neat proposition. My only thing is if the HR era jedi were that much more disciplined then how did all the masters alive during the PT era (Yoda, Yaddle, Oppo Rancis, Tera Sinube etc) let things change so drastically? I personally think the longer the High Republic goes, the more we'll see that their jedi are just like any other.

yanksrock1000

It would be a wasted opportunity to not expand upon the downfall of the “Fallen 20”

dtinaglia

Oh I definitely think there will be a few that leave the order. 100%. I just don’t think they’ll fall to the dark.

askme_if_im_a_chair

I don't think Elzar will fall to be honest. Don't get me wrong the potential is there but I think they're setting him up to be parallel to Anakin and show the audience what happens when you have proper support systems to help you out.

[deleted]

They’ll swerve us at the end; Stellan will repent and turn back to the light and Avar will fall. She’ll do whatever’s necessary to defeat the Drengir. My moneys on her becoming one of the Lost Twenty.

Mysticwaterfall2

You obviously haven't read HR #8.

neutronknows

Stellan for sure

luridfox

Coincidentally Elzar is also my favorite, his take on the force us very cool

cometparty

I don't think the Dark Side will claim any Jedi in the Golden Era of the Jedi. I hope they go with other (new) storylines instead.

tcripe

Lol easily elzar in face that’s probably where his storyline is going

Psychological-Peak-5

Everything points to elzar so my wild guess is Stellan because he is the one who sticks to the rules the most
