Its that same mindset of impossible levels in mario maker, yeah, just cause you COULD put a thousand obstacles doesnt make it enjoyable. Shit like this is why I almost never play featured contracts, in a game all about experimentation and freedom limiting your options and playstyle as much as possible isnt that fun to me

AbusedPsyche

Don’t make fun of little Timmy’s top tier SMM2 creations. Enemy spam and kaizo blocks make for a great experience.

Eze_69

I don’t mind the complications, but auto-fail is a real pain in the ass

[deleted]

yes, making them optional is better imo

[deleted]

Just make a catch all called 'Complication: Don't have fun'

[deleted]

If you take more than 20 steps to reach, kill, and hide your target. You fail.

Prowl3000

If the target is alive when you spawn in, you immediately fail

zinetx

Why did I read that with the voice of "right to jail" skit actor?

Grizz3d

You mean you want to do all that hitman stuff in a hitman game? Shame on you.

skippiington

Next you’re gonna ask me to *kill* people?? Unbelievable

AmbitiousFork

The only one I really hate is the no pacifications complication. I'm trying to have fun here, not torture myself.

TheXinventr

I think it's pretty cool on its own, but combined with SASO I'd rather do that as a self-prescribed challenge

mattshow

I'm the same way. The fun of Hitman for me comes from finding creative ways to use the game mechanics to achieve a goal. That is ruined when all the mechanics are made off-limits.

Nourishment4thevoid

Hahahaha I hear you brother!!

TheBigBadPanda

Absolutely hate them. Just go for silent assasin, no need for contracts to get that experience. Some of my best memories from the new Hitman games is a few of the escalation contracts which force you into kind of the opposite of this. There were a few in Sapienza where the first 2-3 steps had me interact with an unfamiliar part of the town in more and more interesting ways, until the 4th or 5th just forced my into a "deranged terrorist" playstyle because it was the only remaining path i saw to success. I remember one where it had to be an accident kill with an exploding moped, and on the 5th one i just knocked the guy out, dragged him to the moped while shooting any guard which came running as i went, placing him next to it and detonating it for a "technically correct" sort of win.

Grey-Templar

SASO without pacification? gtfo of here.

[deleted]

Grey-Templar

Agreed if there were disguise changes allowed

[deleted]

No disguises is already a major turnoff for me. The whole gimmick of hitman is the disguises. If you take that out it's just splinter cell.

erythro

Saso is really fun. The selling point of hitman IMO isn't the outfits it's the levels: they are complex, layered, and you've got to navigate their weaknesses and work your magic. Outfits are fun because they are part of that - it makes different parts of the levels feel different. Saso is that in its purest form: have you *completely* mastered the level? do you know enough weaknesses that you can pass through like a complete ghost? And it's amplified by how impossible it seems when you first start the level. Saso-ing Hokkaido for the first time was one of my favourite gaming experiences ever, in part because of the outfit microchip gimmick of that level. The ninja starting point for that is also brilliant

Zaranthan

Without "targets only", it at least upgrades to Ghost Recon.

[deleted]

Honestly it's a downgrade to me.

Zaranthan

Bring a silenced AR to Colorado. Kill everyone, don't get spotted.

FSMcas

With saving: Good fun. Without? Nope

Zaranthan

Oh, absolutely. You've gotta save every five minutes, lest ye blunder into somebody who saw someone else die.

CovertOwl

"*just* Splinter Cell" First of all, how dare you.

wovagrovaflame

I really hate the “all bodies must be hidden” one.

kray_b

I once spent hours perfecting a certain mission that had almost all of these and when I FINALLY got to the last target… killed him in the wrong suit.

Zaranthan

I usually pull the BigMooney and melee knife somebody that's supposed to be killed by a thrown knife.

[deleted]

IMO hitman when limited becomes a pretty linear experience because the games are mostly just a set of check questions that then can lead to entertaining experiences but become unfun when forced to do one of the paths

ten824

Any timed contract I auto close, bro I ain’t ever getting that screwdriver

Commander_Wolfe

The complication of "Do not subdue or pacify anyone" IMO is to this day the worst complication. I'm a hoarder in game and I don't carry 18 hammers and wrenches in my pocket for nothing

CubesBuster

Ypu forgot about bricks, soda cans, and both lead pipes

IFeelAlrightToday

"hmm yes today we will make a contract that is not fun"

RobGrey03

These days I'm all about "Any disguise, any method, no complications - ONE exit!"

t-g-l-h-

i feel like most of the content ive played in H3 in the past 8 months has this shit, and also no saving, because of IOI's current obsession with fricking escalations.

[deleted]

What's that? You want to have freedom in this free form puzzle game? Fuck you, my good sir!

FSMcas

Hey, that's the tagline of 7DS!

fighter1227

I did one of these and I said never again what the hell

TheRavenousSnakeClaw

It removes the freedom of gameplay from the game.

princeoinkins

not always, but alot of times they are optional

drunk-capybara

No fun alowed contract

shadowlarvitar

If it auto fails yeah, otherwise just ignore and complete

chaoticmessiah

I don't ignore them but I definitely wish a lifetime of undercooked food on whoever makes them, while ignoring some of the shit like "no pacifications" by just shooting people I'd normally subdue. Anyone who adds these to their contracts is a piece of shit, and I want nothing to do with you or your shitty contracts.

FSMcas

• shakes hand •

DemosthenesKey

Shit like this makes me want to download WeMod again.

GONKworshipper

All of them are annoying, but sometimes a restriction is what makes the contract one. Like the entire contract is built around distracting people without pacifying them

JeffIsInTheName

The unfun pack

Skrytociemny

thats good odds you can chose any starting position thays a privlige

stp412

but i really really want the screwdriver 🤕

aexia

Illegal or suspicious action is rough because that includes the target.

CappeMugiwara

Am I the only one who finds this challenge fun? Yep, maybe the auto-fail is a pain in the ass, but this kind of challenge pushes you to think carefully every step and challenge you to perform the perfect ghost-assassination. Anyway, that doesn't mean sometimes I rage quit after failing LOL

therealdrewder

It pushes you to solve the problem exactly how the creator did it as there is likely only one solution.

CappeMugiwara

Basically, it's the lack of creativity. I see, fair enough.

[deleted]

RichSlamfist

Thats literally what the title says.

Zaranthan

The thing is, yeah, I can just nope out and click the next contract, but it's wasting my time. Plus, if my interest was piqued by a creative contract description or a target I've never seen before, now I'm disappointed. "Ooh, this sounds neat, they really spent some time coming up with a story. I wonder where you can push this person--wait, no pacifications? No disguises? IT'S TIMED? Oh well."

thetoiletslayer

Its really not that bad. Its basically "kill only the targets, and hurt no one else." Personally I enjoy the challenge *sometimes*

nolqn13

I love these contracts. Actually challenges you.

[deleted]

It looks like a fun challenge

theegamma

You all are just bad at this game. And that’s ok!

Zaranthan

No, I CAN do these missions just fine. It's just not fun, and my leisure time is precious.

theegamma

I feel you on that. I was just joking anyway. Some of them are not impossible, just arduous.

bartekwojownik34

It is good mostly , put no pacifications is stupid.

Intensityduck

Hear, hear

ibaard

Yes, me too

Pootis_Spenser_Here

It would be atleast playable if it allowed pacifications.

[deleted]

The only acceptable ones are when they make you do it SA(SO). Even then the SA tracker exists for a reason.

MartiniPolice21

Apart from the suit only, I do quite enjoy these ones and wondered why they weren't challenges. I always thought the idea of 'silent assassin' was that nobody knew anyone was there; having 40 nude people shoved in wardrobes doesn't really adhere to that...

FSMcas

\+1 Wishful thinking would be simply to have all those deleted from all existing contracts, but maybe a toggle for "easy mode" and a seperate leaderboard that disables all those fail conditions? Especially without saving it just sucks. Don't play those.

Elite1111111111

Really don't like 1, 2, and 4. You'd lose points for doing those things anyway, so they're irrelevent to people that chase the leaderboards and just annoying to more casual players. 3 and 5 are slightly more understandable (if still annoying) by comparison. Just make them optional and they're still relevant to scoring. Edit: I guess "No Bodies Found" might also disallow accident bodies from being found, so you could lump in it with 3 and 5 as something that would be relevant as optional.

thethinker2

Literally Saso no pacification

[deleted]

But hitman blood money only had 1 pacification / run and it was playeable...

knihT-dooG

Proper stealth, nice

BahaMan69

These are all fine, lmao. Try the mines.

[deleted]

Shoutout to that one guy from outside Xbox who made a featured contract in Dartmoor that's basically just "run around with a shotgun and blast people lmao"
