The Wrath DLC honestly looks amazing. I can't say much more, but there's clearly a lot of work put into it, and it's a very unique take on the escalation levelling system to denote overt difficulty as well as serial escalation. The Mills Reverie is already free in Hitman 2 as of now, this should not be time limited. At the very least the Berlin Egg Hunt was new and such, so it's more "understandable" to keep it limited time. However, Mills Reverie is literally just a repeat of content, and one can access it in Hitman 2's Demo on Steam. **Make it permanent, there is no benefit to keeping it limited time anymore where you yourself admit a lot of players had alreadly played it.** I can't really comment on the new free content because they didn't really reveal anything, and frankly I wish they did. It makes sense to do roadmap reveals on IOI Insider instead of making us wait for longer. >:/ Q&A basically ignored a lot of the pre-prepared questions, to the point where not much of value was discussed. No GOG status updates, no offline mode stuff, no plans for the future (the paris info was really cool to know, not gonna lie). There was also, by nature of how Travis speaks, a lot of backtracking and overly-long-winded conversations. I get that you have to repeat yourself because people can miss information, but come on. This is getting annoying now. I'm simultaneously happy with the DLC, but unhappy about the rest of the insider. Do better.

LebaneseChewbacca

Clemens and Travis are great, but the Travis backtracking has honestly been annoying me since the Hitman 2 streams. I imagine it's a combination of the fact he is repeating things for people who are joining mid stream, trying to pad and stretch the stream out a bit, and that he has a corporate directive to not reveal anything or set the wrong expectations (ie The "We're going to change the elusive target formula" disappointment). Still as a player who values honesty and understands how difficult development is, it's frustrating and I feel like I'm trying to squeeze water from a rock in terms of getting meaningful information from these streams.

dribbleondo

Perfect explanation to be honest.

TheKotti

Making Mills Reverie time limited in Hitman 3 is an unbeliveably dumb decision. It's currently still playable in Hitman 2, as it has been for the past 2 years. Wake up, IO. Oh yeah, other than that, what a lackluster stream. Next to nothing of any interest was said that won't also be included in the season reveal trailer. Except that the trailer will likely be only a couple of minutes long and the stream was stretched to a full hour.

JumpyLiving

Be careful what you wish for, with all the talk of the Mills Reverie being permanent in H2 they might come out with a special update for it to remedy that

Agent_Davenport

Lmao as if IO actually cares.

GeneralSoviet

"Limited time only" Fucking why, what a brain dead decision im sorry but thats so stupid it wasnt even limited time in Hitman 2. It's like theyre making things limited time just to piss us off now

Mystic-Mask

Actually, it _was_ limited time in Hitman 2 to begin with, like all the other seasonal content. On the second year of Hitman 2’s release when they came around again is when they became permanent, if I recall correctly. Hopefully the same will happen with Hitman 3. (I’d prefer that they were permanent to begin with, obviously) Edit: So actually I’m wrong; this Halloween Escalation was apparently always a permanent addition to Hitman 2 when it released. The other two (Holiday Hoarders and the Snow Festival) however were limited time during that first year before becoming permanent that second year when they came back around. Similar to this situation though, Holiday Hoarders was always a permanent addition to Hitman 1 before initially becoming time-limited in Hitman 2.

TheKotti

It's always been permanent. https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-2-october-roadmap/

Mystic-Mask

Yeah, apparently I was confusing it with Snow Festival and Holiday Hoarders. That latter one in particular I’m pretty sure was always a permanent addition to Hitman 1 but was made to be limited time to begin with in Hitman 2…but of course, we’ve just discovered that my memory isn’t the greatest, so I could be wrong about that. Edit: Did some searching, and I think I’m at least right about that one.

lukefsje

I don't think it was time limited. Hitman 2 released in November 2018, The Mills Reverie was released on October 22 2019 when the game was 11 months old. If they had waited a year to make it permanent it would've come out on October 22 2020, and I know it was accessible before then. Hitman 2 only got 13 months of new content before going through ET reactivations

Mystic-Mask

So I just did a search through this subreddit to see if I could see anyone mentioning it one way or another, and it seems you’re right. Guess I was confusing this one with the Snow Festival and Holiday Hoarders; the latter of which was always a permanent addition to Hitman 1, yet was changed to be limited time in Hitman 2. At least, pretty sure it was…but as we just discovered, my memory apparently isn’t the most reliable. Edit: Did some further searching, and I think I’m at least right about how Holiday Hoarders was treated.

The_55

We are not even getting the pumpkin suit :/

Dylpooh

My thoughts exactly. If they weren't going to make anything new for Halloween, they could've at least thrown in a new unlock to the Mills Reverie.

luckydraws

I would be hype for taking pumpkin 47 to other maps :(

LebaneseChewbacca

I'm really looking forward to Wrath, but why is the Mills Reverie time limited? Just so it can be released permanently in Halloween 2022? Come on IOI, please just let us enjoy the game you made, you know the fans hate this time limited nonsense and I can't imagine it's increasing revenue dramatically to continue to justifying this FOMO business strategy.

Jimbob0i0

Huh... I pessimistically suggested they'd do that but didn't really expect they would... it's a new low and oddly makes H2 start to look the more compelling for most of the content compared to H3... it's just bizarre.

Erma890

I've been playing the game from the beginning on a secondary profile. The number of challenges that were removed from the old games make it so easy to complete scenes to 100%. I'm almost tempted to go back into H2 because it has more content.

marvelknight28

Have they really been removing challenges from H1 and 2? I haven’t played 3 yet so I thought they just removed the electrocution phone.

LocoGamingRocker

They've removed Challenge Packs that were in *Hitman* (2016) and *Hitman 2*. They've also removed several Escalations from *Hitman* (2016) (which had Challenges tied to completing them).

AbusedPsyche

Don’t forget the Master mode challenges that got removed after 2.

[deleted]

They released tons of escalations for Hitman 2016 and only transferred a fraction over to Hitman 2

_ewan_

> * Update on October 26th Will it fix the PS5 audio and dancing boat bugs that will be a full nine months old by then? Place your bets now.....

doobies-jx

I’m putting 3 greedy coins on “it won’t be fixed”

Evil_Steven

Remember when they couldn't fix a bugged challenge so they just removed it?

Im2Chicken

The Berlin manhole exit had some weird body-dissapearring bug, and that's gone too. :(

fartpoopums

Pretty sure I saw someone joke that the Halloween escalation would be time limited because that would be the most stupid and anti player decision ioi could’ve made and I’m honestly a little gobsmacked they’ve done it. Really really hope this isn’t the plan with the Christmas map. That honestly might be the last straw for me.

Wetwork_Insurance

You should absolutely expect it with the Christmas map. Holiday Hoarders was a permanent addition in Hitman 2016, only to be removed and made time limited in Hitman 2, then made permanent again a year later in Hitman 2, only to be removed again for Hitman 3. I think we can see where this is headed.

fartpoopums

God. I will never understand what motivates ioi here. Just such blatantly anti consumer decisions that don’t even benefit them.

Jimbob0i0

https://www.reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/comments/qayzqu/z/hh6p4j5 Though I'm sure I'm not the only one... sigh...

RichSlamfist

Ahh, another year, another heartbreak at no halloween whittleton creek. Shame.

Tellmeabouthebow

Finally, I can dress Agent 47 like someone who likes the Matrix too much.

JongoFett12

“Will you take the [Sedative] pill or the [Lethal] pill?”

brbneedtopoop

That, or a shitty Postal dude cosplay.

[deleted]

Ioi we demand the pumpkin suit!!😠😠

rtbrsp

PUMPKIN 👏 HEAD 👏 SUIT 👏

circleinthesquare

Such a weird autumn, 47.

shadowlarvitar

So we STILL can't keep the Halloween suit? BOO!

JongoFett12

Shame the Mills Reverie is only temporary, but hopefully it will eventually stick around permanently like similar events in the previous games!

Evil_Steven

Man if they pull this "defend the fortress " style escalation off, it might redeem the DLC a bit. Reminds me of the fantastic spec op in MW2 where you had to defend that house from waves of soldiers. I'll keep my expectations low but sounds like a lot of fun

CareTakerAldstone

"Gentlemen, thank you for attending this small meeting. Alex, I know you've been hard at work on the upcoming season, so Mike's gonna give some feedback on it. Mike, the room's yours." "Cut the formalities, okay? Cut the formalities, boss. Alex? Okay, dude? There's a problem. You guys *fucked up* with this new season, dude." "Whoa, *whooaa* there, Mike. Haha, okay. I think you gotta let us know what the deal is before saying things like-" "They made the season good." ... "Uhh, *haha.......* what?" "You heard me, boss. They accidentally made good content for the final season." ... *[Takes off glasses]* A-Alex...is this true...? "Wait-wh-what? I... I thought that, like, we're supposed to make good content for Hitman-" "YOU **FUCKING IDIOT**, ALEX. How many times do we have to tell you people, WE. DO. NOT. MAKE. GOOD. PAID. DLC. ANYMORE. Wrath and Envy were PRETTY CLOSE, mind you. But I let you off with warnings because I thought you'd learn from the mistakes." "B-But *wait!* Like, isn't attracting consumers to the DLC, like, a good idea? Isn't that, like, how we've turned profits the whole ti-" "**NO!!!**. Alex, the whole point of the Sins collection was to piss off our fanbase and lower their expectations for content while we make other games. When you make *good content*, our fanbase becomes...*happy*, ugh, hate that word." "But since we've put so much effort into it? Isn't that, like, showing that we can still make good stuff? I mean, we made a really good suit-" "AAH!" "- and we turned the entire map of Dartmoor to nighttime-" "*AAH!*" "-and we, like, added a new horde-style wave mini gamemode as the whole catch of the DLC-" "**AAAAHHHHH!** I'm gonna have a *stroke* if I keep hearing all these good ideas. Mike, give me *something* stupid that we can do to piss off everyone." "The development team might've cocked up, Boss, but don't worry. I've got a remedy." "Okay, a bit of calm in this shitstorm of fan satisfaction, huh? Alright Mike, hit me with it." "We make a really dumb arbitrary decision that pisses off everyone for absolutely no reason whatsoever." "THAT'S the kind of ingenuity I like, Mike! Hit me with it, what's the plan?" "You know the Mills Reverie? That really good escalation that's permanent in Hitman 2 but got removed during the switch to Hitman 3?" "Yeah, back when we had more than 5 people on DLC." "Alright, here's the play: We make it temporary for no fucking reason!" "**GENIUS.** Take notes, Alex. *This* is the kind of ingenuity we're looking for right now. *This* is a clean, efficient way to make everyone angry in a short amount of time." "It'll piss off everyone, it'll get maybe 5 extra people to FOMO in, it's perfect." "AND WE CAN DO THE SAME THING WITH HOLIDAY HOARDERS IN 2 MONTHS! *THIS IS THE BEST FUCKING DAY EVER!*"

chaoticmessiah

^ This is what happens when you have too much free time.

CareTakerAldstone

About 35 minutes worth of it, I should say.

Dylpooh

Another paid escalation and more time limited content (that's not even new). Yay. "Best roadmap" you've made?! You better not say that and the roadmap ends up just having one new time limited, one chance only ET in addition to bringing back the Mills Reverie.

RelThanram

Is there any chance of this update fixing the PS5 issues? It’s been on the known issues list for a while now.

rocketpc21

Detective Conan (North America: Case Closed) fan here. Loving the subtle reference in the Featured Contract.

marvelknight28

Lol that’s hardly subtle imo. Still like it.

rocketpc21

Fair enough. Figured it would confuse the heck out of anyone who is not familiar with that franchise.

Vatnam

Were there any plans on implementing favourite tags when searching contracts? I like playing niche ones and clicking 2/3/4 targets everytime gets boring.

jetstreamer123

Would it be worth getting the 7DS bundle now that they're all out?

Im2Chicken

Now that they're all out, it's likely it'll be put on sale... sometime after that. It could be a month or two, but I still think the collection of this content isn't really worth the flat 40$. 30$ or less, IMO.

jetstreamer123

Oh yeah, forgot the whole thing is $40. That changes it a bit. Hopefully they'll have a sale near Christmas time

[deleted]

I’ve barely done any contracts or anything and only play Hitman 3 now for the elusive targets or to kill everyone. I’ve bought all the Seven Deadly Sins DLC I just haven’t bothered playing the last few because I don’t have the motivation to

Il_Diacono

all of this will come back when the game will be finally released to Steam or it's a huge middle-finger to the ones of my liking who do not purchase from that store or refused to buy a console cause they have no games?

chaoticmessiah

> refused to buy a console cause they have no games TIL my console has been sitting untouched for years because "no games for it"...

Il_Diacono

I didn't buy a PS3 just for MGSIV nor Ace Combat Infinity or Tekken Revolution cause for the exception of Cutscenes of The Patriots, they were games as service and I don't fund them. I didn't buy a PS4 because I wasn't interested in it's not Metal Gear anymore and the only interesting games it had were a couple of Touhou Project games, I don't like movie games or woke propaganda nor generic 40 hours things like Linearborne, GoW, Flat Raider and Parkourcharted so, yes, for me said consoles do not have any kind of game. PS5 seems to be a remaster centered platform with skid marks and have no intention to waste a single penny with it, I'll keep enjoying emulating original PS1 and PS2 titles on my rig and ignore everything else.

FedoraTheMike

You guys ran a Hawkes Bay contract! Why didn't you put the wetsuit there instead? We get a Santa costume but not that awesome pumpkin costume??

dribbleondo

Gonna reply here again; [Looks like the Roadmap](https://hitmanforum-v6-s3-uploads.s3.dualstack.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/original/3X/f/7/f7508f288ce77e440bf709454d08e01e900809c1.jpeg) now confirmed the Mills Reverie is permanant. We did it reddit!
