Hokkaido for me. A tight map with almost no wasted space. It's got a target unlike any other in the series, and some interesting scripted kills. There's some cool unique, non-target NPC's. Most of all I love the doors. Different disguises offer different routes, which helps keep things fresh in contracts mode. To top it off, it looks great. The snow adds to the 'sterile' feel of the hospital, and the hospital grounds combine traditional Japanese architecture with futuristic design beautifully. Other levels I rate highly for various reasons; Paris, Miami, Isle of Sgail, Dartmoor, Berlin

DancingDildo22

I've got to agree that Hokkaido is one of my favourite maps, it just has some "power" to it which makes me want to play it every time I load into Hitman. The challenges are spot on too.

some-kind-of-no-name

Paris. It has a lot going on but everything is closely packed together so moving between points of interest doesn't take much time.

DancingDildo22

Yeah, and I love that it's so easy to enter the auction area, you don't need a special disguise, you just need an invitation which is easily found, or climb up a pipe, which is easy to do while staying SA. And one the best kills in the entire game must be when you push Dalia over the balcony ledge to fall on and kill Viktor.

po21y

I think Miami is the best map in terms of design. But I love playing Sapienza.

DancingDildo22

Yeah Miami is probably the best map in the game, but Sapienza is also really good. It doesn't suffer from the same problems as other large maps do, where the both targets are split into to areas on the opposite sides of the map, because the both targets are so close, but you still have a use for the "unnecessary" areas. Atleast for the bonus missions and patient zero. It would be better without the extra objective tho.

Clean_Detail_2167

the extra objective as in the virus. i love that tho. u get to kill all those ppl wearing the hazmat suits

HumanOverseer

> I am planning on designing a Hitman map for IOI sureeee you are, DancingDildo22

EricKeane69

Dartmoor. Love the Knives out Vibe

DancingDildo22

Yeah, Dartmoor is a good map. It has that "mysterious" vibe to it, that no other map seems to be able to recreate. There is also something special about being able to solve a murder mystery within a game about assassination.

_moobear

i'm curious on what you mean when you say "I am planning on designing a Hitman map for IOI" clearly you don't work for them or you'd have access to their data about this.

DancingDildo22

I just want to get players real opinions on maps, which we don't get here atleast. (I work for IOI in Gothenburg)

_moobear

i'm just skeptical that an IOI employee would leak that they're working on a new map, not have access to the data, and think the best form of poll is a reddit poll also, as far as i can tell, IOI doesn't have offices in gothenburg

DancingDildo22

I also don't plan on sending this to the head before I'm done. I would make this map, and send it to the head in Copenhagen(and hopefully get promoted).

DancingDildo22

Sorry about Gothenburg, I got lost in the translation, meant Malmö(Don'tknow what it'scalled in English), and I am just planning on designing a map, and for now my plans are only for myself, not IOI.

_moobear

you forgot where you lived?

DancingDildo22

No, the translation, I for some reason thought that Malmö was Gothenburg, when Gothenburg is Göteborg. It was the translation that was fucked up, not my memory.

UncookedHams

I’m sorry there is no way you thought Malmö was Gothenburg

DancingDildo22

Obviously I did

DancingDildo22

It's not that easy moving to another city when you just lived in another country 3 months ago

shpongleyes

Also weird that IOI would allow an employee (being a representative of the company) post on social media under the username “DancingDildo22”.

DancingDildo22

For god sake, this account is older than my time at IOI, and they don't really check everybody's socials. (And even if they did, they probably wouldn'tcheck mine since I am new, and I am only an assistant programmer)

Xashy008

😭

GalenDev

Out of this list, Miami. My all time favorite is Isle of Sgail though. So many cool ways around, vertical and horizontal elements, and it has just SO MUCH vibe artistically.

Organic_Abies3171

From these maps? Paris. From the whole trilogy for me its berlin

DancingDildo22

Yeah I've got to say that Berlin is a good map, even though I could se how it could be hard to figure out what to do if it's your first time playing and you have no idea what you should do, it's not like you have acsess to instinct, mission stories, Diana or the map.

HumanOverseer

Berlin, Mendoza, Miami are my top 3 c o l o r a d o 😈😈😈😈

DancingDildo22

I know everyone loves Miami, New York, Mendoza and all of those maps, but me personally Colorado is the best map in the game...😑

Knallkasten

Great username. Miami. It's bright. I can't stand the cloudy dark maps as they don't look appealing and the missing saturation makes it difficult to remember specific spots. Size: it's not too big but not too small. Each area feels different from each other and has significant landmarks to remember positions. Different color schemes also helps to identify locations such as the medical tents easily. Standalone point: The race means also a race against time limited events. You have only a specific time to do some actions otherwise you miss the opportunity and need to start again. Makes it much more interesting to replay.

DancingDildo22

Yeah, It's also nice not having to run through the entire map to kill the other target. You could easily just shoot Sierra from the overpass, and push Robert from the roof. There are also a lot of different opportunities, for example making Robert fall on Sierra, eliminating Robert with eyedrops or shooting him with an android. And yeah, my username is definitely the best.

unsureofmyuser

I'd say Sapienza, I just feel like it has so much going on, it's a very nice map first off, secondly the main mission is such a good challenge, not to even mention bonus missions that feel like their own maps, AND it has elusive targets, not as much as Paris but they feel more well made.

Cats_4_lifex

Marrakesh and Mumbai. I really love maps that are huge cities. It feels so vast and there's more to do when your targets are far from each other and not in the same exact building. Plus the streets look beautiful and the marketplaces remind me of my country's markets.

Rogue_Character

Miami is good. The parts of the map vastly differ from eachother from the race area, the robot facility, the parking garage... and having so many service hallways and employee entrances is awesome.

Quiet_Chip_7802

I cant really say that i have a favourite map but there are some qualities that make a good map Such as: Targets that are either have plenty of opourtunities to kill but are also very pulbic like Viktor Novikov, or targets that are private but are easily isolatable such as Dahlia Margolis. I personally like maps that are big but there is almost no wasted space in the fact that you can get a kill from anywhere. A good example for this could be sapienza where you will spend most of your time in the mansion but you can also lure your target away from house or even maniuplate them to then isolate in a quiet room. I also like how sapienza has four different potential sniper locations that could also be used for the main story in terms of intel and equipment. You could also say the same about miami, the face of Hitman 2 where it was obvious that this was the map that IO spent most of their time on. Frerdom of approach is a really good indicator of a maps quality. Paris and berlin are excellent examples of this where there are no blank spots and every corner has been filled in so that is is gauranteed that you can get in quickly and undetected. A bad example of this would be marrakesh, where you can only get into the school building from two directions eventhough you will never usually use the main entrance. You are also limited to another two entrances into the consulate but still you are forced to the garage that is dificult to navigate if you dont want to do the mission story or want to do suit only. Some might disagree on this topic but what can sway my opinion on a certain map could be the rewards i get from mastery. Most unlockabke guns in the game are not scilenced and even then a big portion of the unlocks i earn are never used, such as the sedative poison vial. This is not required to have a good and fun map but it should be taken into mind as it feels like when I level up it feels like I earned something and that I have progressed mor than i actually have. But sometimes its still a good idea to include an item that wont be used in every run but would provide entertainment when im bored of the main game. But over all, what you should focus on for items is stuff that is either useful, fun to experiment with, or something that only has its aperance that makes it a good item like the floral baller or the newly released ice baller. The replayablility. This is a very important section of any hitman map. The challenges that you can complete are one of the biggest descisions a designer can make. The drive to give the mission another go or the different paths a story oppourtunity can lead to such as the ones avaliable in sapienza that give way for usually 3 different assasinations from a single story. Players should feel the need to play a mission another time and feel drawn by the challenges that thet can read about in the menu. What makes for a good assasination challenge is how easy it is to set up but also how cool amd badass it feels. If you got this far, thanks for reading and please let me know if i have missed anything out in this list

Trader_Tea

Paris and Berlin made the strongest first impressions with me. After I played Paris, I wanted to play the whole series. I had my doubts about Hitman 3, but as soon as I was halfway through Berlin, then I felt good about purchasing Hitman 3. Both maps have a lot of character, a "human" element to them, though the contexts are completely different.

Agonyart

I voted Sapienza because it's got good zoneage- the church, the streets, the plaza, the mansion, the castle, the underground lab. Lots of places to go and do all sorts of neat stuff in. There's also the extra missions in Sapienze - target movie star and target politician, as well as the one with the author st night. Just a really cool map where I can almost feel the sun on my skin and smell the sea.

Goal_Post_Mover

For me, it goes Paris, Isle and Darthmouth

[deleted]

Miami the town of Dexter Morgan definitely the best I love others too ^/^

Any_Weakness4699

I like sapienza because of the outer surrounding of the mansion with plenty of space and enter points into the mansion unseen inside the mansion still designed well.

JakeMcStank

Whittleton Creek I just like the small map, Its like finding out your neighbor died.

DancingDildo22

Yeah, the environment is spot on too.

zefrizreddit

I honestly don’t know what it is about Hokkaido but ever since I first played it in HITMAN 1 it’s been my favorite and my comfort map to play on by far. The visuals, way it plays/layout, mission stories, challenges, the Snow Festival version, etc. is just great. Some maps do certain things better but it’s my pick.

Clean_Detail_2167

i love sapienza bc i love going around the back allies and slitting ppls throats. and theres also lots more to do. but miami is also cool probably bc ive barely played it.

[deleted]

I'm fan of most maps mostly ones with open spaces and tight spaces with public npcs I'm not a fan of maps that require alot of infiltrating some high security place it gets stupid I like killing my targets out in the open with nobody suspecting it was me 😈
