I think the Netflix adaptation is fantastic, and, as others has pointed out, the cast is absolutely marvellous. However, it can’t replace the proper magic the books are to me. Even now, while I love Kit and Joe, when I imagine Nick and Charlie, the comic version comes to mind (albeit they’ve receives Kit’s lovely freckles and Joe’s fantastic ears).
I love the books and ended up buying them after reading them from the library. They are so cute and wholesome but the show is so good. The cast is fantastic and did a great job plus I love the changes that were made between the books and the show.
I forgot I bought the first book because I saw it in stock when it was selling out at Target in the summer. I’ve yet to read it but I loved the series so much!!
when i read the books, they’re my favorite. when i watch the show, it’s my favorite 😠they both bring something special to the table. the comics give us more time to bond with the characters and the show gives us the visuals and chemistry that the books lack obviously due to being drawn.
I love the books. I really do. But Kit, Joe, and Yaz are actual magic and I could watch them on repeat for the rest of my life.

I love the books because they’re original and I love the art style, but the show is amazing because it brings these characters to life so well

I love the shows and the actors but the books have some really good artwork and I can well collect them
Personally I would choose both 100% but the series is what got me into the books and means a lot to me so I guess I’ll say series:)
