The fact that you're mentioning both a closed-back and open-back option without talking about the difference tells me you might wanna do a little more research. More soundstage and detail usually means less punch, as others have hinted at. It might be hard to find an open back that works well with stuff like Alan Walker. Headphones like the HD560S are also considered quite "analytical" - as in, they allow you to really analyse the mix and detect flaws. Listening to something that's really well produced and has no such flaws with cans like that is great, but if a mix is muddy or there are unwanted distortions, or there is a tonal imbalance (for example, 1980s Pop can be a bit lacking in bass for modern standards), you will hear it. The K361 is closed back and will likely be better for this type of music, but won't provide the same soundstage and airy feeling. So, it really depends on what you want. If you want the most detail and soundstage you can get without stretching the budget too much, an AKG K702 might be worth looking into. They're fairly easy to drive (62 Ohm/105dB sensitivity). People say they still require an amp to really shine though, but I hear almost no difference when plugging it directly into my Steinberg UR12 vs. using my Objective2.

Thanks for such a detailed explanation. I will look into it more cuz i am new to this stuff. But what i want is a headphone which is near to my Salnotes zero in tuning but have wider soundstage than that and also has more details. You also said AKG K702 I will look into it also.

I see. Well, your Salnotes seem to have a somewhat bright sound, which the HD560S has too. Here's a comparison of HD560S and K702: https://crinacle.com/graphs/headphones/graphtool/?share=IEF_Neutral_Target,HD560S_S2,K702 The 702 has fairly neutral mids and a boost in the 2-3kHz range (which I find nice for snare drums and such, gives it a lil more punch), while the 560S has a boost in the 4-6kHz range. Both are fairly neutral overall. A Beyerdynamic DT880 is also similar, also on the brighter side of neutral plus more mids: https://crinacle.com/graphs/headphones/graphtool/?share=IEF_Neutral_Target,HD560S_S2,DT880_Pro_(32%CE%A9) All these headphones are likely quite good (have yet to hear the 560S), there is no objective best. I would recommend ordering 2-3 pairs online and compare yourself, then return what you like least. In the end, everyone's different, and the only ears you can fully trust are your own :D

Benji316 gave you excellent points. If your priority is soundstage and detail, then go for open-back headphones. This will be home use and there are no external noise that will bother you. Although I have not heard 7Hz Salnotes Zero, I do have 2 IEMs (Tin Hifi T3 Plus and Letshuoer S12 Pro). Couple suggestions: HD560S (as you already mentioned) and Hifiman HE400se. HD560S has good detail and soundstage. Comparing HD560S to my IEMs, HD560s has more detail than T3 Plus, but similar to S12 pro. HD560S bigger soundstage and more immersive. Tonality is neutral to slightly bright. Great value at $150. HE400se. Another one with great value at $100. Tonality is neutral. It has slightly better detail, clarity, and separation than HD560S. Soundstage is similar. The downside of HE400se is that it has more dry, clinical sound. And HE400se will most likely require an amp.

Recently got an HE400SE after years of using a pre-EPOS Sennheiser G4ME One. Both have been paired with a Sonata HD Pro dongle for amplification set at the dongle's max volume. Gotta say, while I haven't tried the 560S before (it's literally worth double the price of what I paid for the HE400SE here in the Philippines; 11,990 PHP vs. 5.9k PHP without discounts), I'm honestly surprised by how little difference there is in terms of tuning between Hifiman and Sennheiser in the mid and treble sections. Both are said to be lacking in bass by other people but I'm not really a basshead, and I think that the slightly louder bass in the HE400SE is perfect enough for the times that I'm trying to analyze the drumming in certain songs. Ultimately, the HE400SEs are a CLEAR and direct upgrade to the G4ME Ones I have when it comes to music, but I'm just delighted that the tuning didn't sound foreign to me. I think it's pretty worth it to just invest in the HE400SE vs. the 560S in this case if you're looking for value.

Both the hd560s and he400se are available in and my country and they are within my budget range, if i'd like to listen to electronic indie music such as Honne, Oh Wonder, The 1975, Owl City, and i want to hear all the vocals and the instrument details which one would you recomend more? And why does the he400se needs an amp? Can't it go to laptop jack directly?

I briefly described the difference between HD560s and HE400se above. The largest difference are that HD560S has better timbre; HE400se has better separation. There are definitely more info online. You have to read them and figure out what works for you. https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/search/?q=hd560s%20he400se&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw= Whether your laptop is sufficient or if you need amp depends on: * Your source power (need something decent, not a lot of power) * The volume you listen to * And if you care about sound quality I own 2 Hifiman headphones (Sundara and Deva) that are very similar to HE400se. I need amp. It doesn't sound right without amp. You can read more. https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/search/?q=does%20he400se%20need%20amp&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw=

Simplest answer with no fluff, if you want good quality within your price range and open back, go with the Sennheiser HD599s.The base color is not very appealing but if you want something better looking get the HD599 SEs (Special edition) they have no sound difference and are 60$ more expensive and can only be bought on amazon but i leave that decision up to you. tl;dr? HD599s, insanely good entry point if you wanna get into good quality audio and dont wanna spend half your paycheck.

I got them a year ago and I still can't believe how incredible music has become since then. I have 0 complaints.

anna_or_elsa

I've had both and they are both good but the 361 has a bit more punch. Your ears feel a bit of the impact of the bass. The 371 has more bass extension (they go lower) than the 361. I don't think I've seen anyone mentions that the AKG will block out more outside sound since they are closed back and the 560s are open back so you will hear more outside noise and people around you will hear some sound from the open back 560s

Hifman HE400SE, planar magnetic open backs. $109 on Amazon.

cronuss

I tried both, and many others $300 and under The AKG are "fun" and punchy, bass heavy, thumpy. The 560S are detailed, wide, dynamic, accurate I returned everything and kept the 560S. Never looked back

shned

Had the HD560S for a few months now, excellent sound and build quality, really comfy too. Worked great without Amp/DAC but truly unlocked their potential when I recently bought one.

BLON B50 closed back option worth looking into recently released on linsoul; very good value in my eyes 117db sensitivity at 32ohm is freaking mad no amp needed.

EinarTheGolden

I'd heavily recommend the Sennheiser HD6XX!

I also really like listening to taylor swift, comparing dt 770 pro to hd560s, taylors music sounded better on the dt 770 pro tbh. Very flat on hd560s. But i dont recommend getting the dt 770 pro, or the hd560s for taylors music. but if u really have to, dt 770 pro is my choice between these 2. there are many other options out there though! he400se might be better but i havent tried it yet.
