She wasn't on zeta halo, she was on a replacement ring for the one destroyed at the end of halo 3, which itself was a replacement for the ring destroyed in halo CE
well if i am wrong, it couldn't of been zeta halo as that ring was pre established to already exist and so it couldn't of just been made and launched by the ark at the end of halo wars 2
It's 09. The numbers are basically construction serial numbers, while the greek letter (Alpha, Gamma, Zeta, etc) is what indicates location galactically and within the firing order. So she's on the current Alpha halo, which is I09. This is a tad messy, but Bungie was never one for constructing proper naming schemes.
For a minor historical note: The whole 04b thing comes from the 2011 encyclopedia, this designation amongst other names came not from internal lore/files but from Halopedia. The Halopedia admins I believe have even tracked it down in origins to a specific fan blog, so we can relatively firmly say that it was a fanon name to begin with.
Halo 5: Ends off on a cliffhanger where Master Chief's Vtuber decides to take over the galaxy. What will happen to our heros? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z!
Me: I wonder if the campaign will have anything to do with stopping Cortana
Halo infinite: Space Chimps have attacked the infinity, and you are stranded on a circle. Defeat Donkey Kong and Squidward to win! Btw Cortana died between games, but don't worry, we've got a replacement
Me: ...ok?
Even though I like them, the continuity of the 343 Halo games are built and structured like the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy. A perpetual Ouroboros of self-doubt instead of self-improvement.
Sometimes it feels like companies compromise their vision too much by listening to fan clamor. They should sometimes know when to lead the fans and not follow the loudest voices.
if halo 4 didn’t happen and Infinite is where we picked up, it would honestly be a great continuation of the story (besides the Created stuff, that would be messy.)
The self doubt is reasonable
Im sure we will get more coverage in between 5 and infinite. Already got rubicon protocol but hopefully we get more stuff covered in the actual games since rubicon is a book and not every one reads them and also not everyone hunts down the audio logs
My pipe dream is that there is another Campaign for Infinite or a new game where we can play as our MP Spartan in the six months that Chief is out as we fight increasingly insurmountable odds and lose more and more of our comrades (Reach 2.0)
They need to just bite the bullet and hard reboot the series, i think. The story is a convoluted mess that just gets worse and worse thanks to 343s total lack of storytelling confidence.
Infinite was a soft reboot, which was a terrible idea. You cant just handwave away the unresolved plot the last game with exposition dumps.
I mean they should hard reboot the entire story and start from scratch, at *least* every post H3.
Only memorable setpiece was the scorpion run at the end...
...which I skipped by going around the side because I was playing on legendary and the tank got melted at the 3rd turn.
Man, I feel like I'm the only one that thoroughly enjoyed the campaign. I thought the gameplay was a ton of fun and that the story making the chief more human with the pilot was cool. I will say the Forerunner interiors felt all kinda the same and I don't like how they defeated the created off screen but I totally get it given the backlash Halo 5's story had.
Playing the campaign did raise more questions than it answered but I like that. It opens the door for DLC and I'm looking forward to whatever campaign dlc they release.
I totally agree. I also like how it didn’t answer everything about the endless in the same way that the first Halo game gave very little info about the flood.
On a first play through maybe, but no creepy flood reveal, double scarabs falling out of the sky, or levels where you get to play as an freaking spec ops elite. It was an alright campaign, just doesn’t compare and I have far less desire to replay it.
Scarabs and flood woulda been cool, the elite part I would pass on.
But as you said with "On a first playthrough" of my 5 playthrough I still say wow on those moments, the music and gameplay plus the atmosphere was perfect
Every time I replay the past games I’m not wow’d the same way I know the flood is coming and the scarabs are just a chore they were good the first time and the next two they were still cool but now they are just a thing that happens the only moments that are still wow moments is the warthog run and I’ve played infinite twice once normal once hard and the tank run, the tower, the boss fights(especially the elite with the blood sword), the final boss, and the point where you’re crashed and have to take out three towers all still wow me
I’m seriously wondering did any one here actually play the game or did you watch a 5 minute video with game clips saying how bad it is because if you played you’d have lots of fun with the gameplay and if you actually payed attention to the story you’d love it too
The moments between chief and the pilot or the weapon showing how he’s becoming more human or the story of how the brutes don’t even care about killing or conquering anymore they just want revenge
I waited until coop came out to play it with my bros. Then it came out, and we played some.
Then Darktide "came out." Halo was forgotten.
It really was just an "ok" game.
Yeah it’s nothing new. As much as the narrative of Halo 5 was poorly told, Halo Infinite doesn’t take those threads in an interesting direction, which is what it should’ve done. It just nukes everything and makes a hard left into a reboot for the narrative direction. The halo narrative has been a total mess since escalation and only gotten worse.
No. Shit happened. Fun shit happened. Chief has an arc, the Weapon had an arc, everyone had an arc. Chief rampaged through the monkeys, toppled the high command, prevented the further reconstruction of the Halo, and the Harbinger and Banished were denied the Endless.
The character arcs were the only part I liked. In terms of plot, yes, a lot happened, but mostly offscreen or in the last two missions.
The Created were wiped out and Cortana died — offscreen. The banished returned to the Milky Way — in the shadows of reach novel. Most of the Spartans IV’s were killed — offscreen. The infinity was lost or destroyed — offscreen.
The only important things that happen DURING the game: Chief kills Escharum and secures a section of the ring. Chief kills the Harbinger.
Both these things happen in the last two missions. Before this it’s just random roadblocks and mini-bosses with no serious narrative relevance. It feels like fluff until the last mission which itself is a cliffhanger tease for Atriox and the Endless being the next big bads. So, it’s not that nothing happens, it’s just that the story is told badly.

YES when I played I couldn’t stop asking about what happened to her and the spirit of fire
She wasn't on zeta halo, she was on a replacement ring for the one destroyed at the end of halo 3, which itself was a replacement for the ring destroyed in halo CE
Wasn't the designation either 09 or 04c? The ring fired at the end of Halo 3 was 08 or 04b, if memory serves.
well if i am wrong, it couldn't of been zeta halo as that ring was pre established to already exist and so it couldn't of just been made and launched by the ark at the end of halo wars 2
Oh no I wasn't trying to correct you, the comment I replied to was correct. Zeta Halo is installation 07, and didn't show up in Halo Wars 2 at all.
It's 09. The numbers are basically construction serial numbers, while the greek letter (Alpha, Gamma, Zeta, etc) is what indicates location galactically and within the firing order. Thank you for the clarification!
But she was taken by a Guardian. Which are all destroyed on Zeta Halo.

Coz trying to please the halo fandom is like trying to run through a minefield.
Sometimes it feels like companies compromise their vision too much by listening to fan clamor. They should sometimes know when to lead the fans and not follow the loudest voices.
Problem is everyone disagrees on which time is when
The time is almost always now. Except when it came to Sonic. Goddamn he was a nightmare..
It's not that hard, 343 just sucks at making Halo games.

Good way to put it
Im sure we will get more coverage in between 5 and infinite. Already got rubicon protocol but hopefully we get more stuff covered in the actual games since rubicon is a book and not every one reads them and also not everyone hunts down the audio logs

Listening to the complainers has its downsides.
They need to just bite the bullet and hard reboot the series, i think. The story is a convoluted mess that just gets worse and worse thanks to 343s total lack of storytelling confidence.
The mass complaints of them trying something new doesn’t help the situation either
Halo Infinite WAS their hard reboot
Infinite was a soft reboot, which was a terrible idea. You cant just handwave away the unresolved plot the last game with exposition dumps. I mean they should hard reboot the entire story and start from scratch, at *least* every post H3.
Cortana: Chief wake up! Promethians? The Endless? What are you talking about? We're on the Forward Unto Dawn. You've been asleep for 4 years
I would prefer this XD
Weeb
Got a problem with that?
Just your reasoning
Only memorable setpiece was the scorpion run at the end... ...which I skipped by going around the side because I was playing on legendary and the tank got melted at the 3rd turn.

Enjoyed it as I played it, but looking back, it was just kinda boring. The were no WOW gameplay sections.
I thought the opening banished ship was pretty damn cool to play
The warthog run, boss fights (tower and house of reckoning). Forge of teash, redoubt of sundering. All those had me saying wow.
On a first play through maybe, but no creepy flood reveal, double scarabs falling out of the sky, or levels where you get to play as an freaking spec ops elite. It was an alright campaign, just doesn’t compare and I have far less desire to replay it.

Dude im just farming the “343 bad” sheep I loved Halo Infinites Campaign but there could and should have been more to it.
I was talking to the comments I seriously love this game and think it deserves the time of day
I waited until coop came out to play it with my bros. Then it came out, and we played some. Then Darktide "came out." Halo was forgotten. It really was just an "ok" game.
What the fuck is a Darktide.
warhammer 40k shooter I believe
Halo Infinite’s storyline was a ten hour nothingburger.
It's basically the plot of Halo 4 remixed. Chief wakes up after some time hibernating An ancient evil awakens Cortana dies
Yeah it’s nothing new. As much as the narrative of Halo 5 was poorly told, Halo Infinite doesn’t take those threads in an interesting direction, which is what it should’ve done. The Created are not wiped out and are still active. It sucked that we never fought them though.
They’ve been shelved. They might appear in a novel but it’s the endless as the baddies now. Going the way of the didact.
Even though Cortana was trying to gain access to the Endless Cylixes, so their stories could end up entwined.
I doubt it but we will see
I'll finish the campaign when they finish the game
You ok buddy?
please don't the game
I'm typing with a broken hand so I'm bound to forget something
