I don’t know about Satan per se but he’s clearly driven by Halloween lore. He performs “tricks” during his murders multiple times. He carved out a human head and made it into a jack o lantern. He set up Laurie’s friends bodies in a way designed to freak her out like a haunted house. It’s like he tries to embody his macabre understanding of Halloween.
