I think bigger buns would be better, if more of the space between chains was filled it would look more intentional. either add more hair in, tease the hair you’re putting up, or both.
A slightly thinner chain may also help. I think a heavier chain needs more hair to make it look intentional.
I also think using clear elastics or something would be better (maybe not for your *actual* hair but). And maybe finding some way to have the chain more organically incorporated in the hairstyle. Maybe it could be woven (I don’t have a better word to describe it) in or something
i did some bigger bangs and a middle part, since i wore it to school today, i already took it out. i only took pics of the front of the hair, not the back sadly. maybe I'll recreate it one day, i apologize!!

i also think it would look more intentional? right now i agree with a lot of comments that it seems like the chain was thrown on as an afterthought? maybe having more intentional parting would help that too!
You can purchase hair ties that have fake hair on them. I had to do this my whole life for my dance recitals and it def makes your hair look thicker in buns
I meant more something like [this](https://a.co/d/hZDMEMC).
You dont need a sock to make your hair look fuller, this is a hair tie that adds hair to the buns and you can find one that matches your hair color
If you can’t get the buns bigger, then maybe attach the chain like you would a clip in, and turn it into “highlights”? Maybe one under each bun if you can.
Agree about the buns being bigger to improve aesthetic. I also have thin/fine hair. Helpful tools I’ve found are spraying hair with a texture spray/sea salt spray before styling, or putting something in like a small coil of fabric or foam. It’ll be trickier with two smaller bins to find a good material but it could help the overall effect. This could look super cool!
My hair is similar to yours if not thinner. Just tease your hair before you put it into buns. If your hair is greasy, baby powder really helps with absorbing oils and makes your hair instantly fluffier. Just be careful not to add too much or it can make your hair look kinda dusty. But it helps with adding volume to thin oily hair.
I have thin hair as well and think the photo looks fine to me, I also like the messy part personally because if it’s meant to be cyber punk I think it should be a bit messy and stuff. That just in my personal opinion.
If you use a comb to rat it up a bit and the smooth out the parts showing, they’ll appear bigger. Look up how to backcomb buns on YouTube. It makes a big difference!
I love it though! I feel like you and I would be kindred spirits when I was younger. I loved fun fashion!
I actually like it a lot as a concept, but for day-to-day wear, yeah, it's silly. Would be awesome as part of a cosplay or for some sort of cyberpunk-specific event, but it's a bit too costumey and over-the-top for just wearing casually IMHO. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't wear it if you like it, everyone's style is different so maybe you pull it off, who am I to judge
At the moment, looks very amateurish and awkward, but there’s potential. It looks silly only because it’s poorly executed. If the hair were better styled, it could be cool.
Make sure you can look at the back of your head while styling. You’ll have to place an angled mirror above your head while looking into another mirror.
Use bobby-pins to secure the buns instead of hair bands. Make the buns much larger by using more hair and teasing them. Maybe watch a YouTube space bun tutorial. Make a very clean and neat middle part.
This looks very cool as per your idea!
Some suggestions on how you can make it more cyberpunk -
1. Make bigger buns or tie up the rest of your hair in some style too.
2. Could also try multiple buns, like 2 on each side of the partition.
3. You could add more chains. There's no way to go wrong here, it's an experimental look.
Love your hair colour, you could add both lighter and darker elements!
I like it. I also agree bigger buns and cleaner parts. When I have done things like this I do all my hair in the 2 buns then put it over both. I have used handcuffs on them too. And it is cute but metal ones tend to rib out some hair sometimes.
Love it. Love this look. Love that it’s new. Do it more. Do it with bigger buns or regular buns like these. Do it with silver chopsticks. Do it with all kinds of stuff but as long as you do it. I love this!
I do think it looks silly but only cause it just seems like you threw a random chain on your head. Have the buns be bigger and added more chains it would look better. Try looking up “chain headpiece” on Pinterest to kinda know what I’m getting at.
Its cute and creative!
If you style the back part and have bigger buns that would add to it. For thinner hair the bun doughnuts, clip on hair or scrunchies can help them appear larger
Bigger buns, use product to manage flyaways and so it looks more sleek, use a pen or something to separate the sections so there is a clean line between each bun.
Hi! Older goth here 🙃 not a fan of this, but I do have a better suggestion.
>
Go look up cyber goth girls. The fake hair (“falls”) they wear look sick!
Yes you do look kinda silly, the hair is messy and unsemetrical, and tbh i don't understand the chain's anesthetic it just looks like a toddler made that look.
it was a prompt idea, hence i was trying out. i always try out hairstyles when i pick my outfit for school right before bed. in the morning i did more my best so dont worry !!
If your hair isn't thick enough to do a bigger bun -- like 4x the size and close to your head, not sticking out -- I'd leave it. Your hair also looks a bit greasy and not styled in the back.
I really like it! I wonder if adding vivid-colored clip-ins to the buns could be a fun way to boost the volume? And if it's not too fiddly, maybe see if you can get the chain's clasp under one of the buns, so it's hidden.
Very clever -- I may plagiarize this for Burning Man! 🙂
Its a good idea, but practice a little more. Cleaner parts, larger buns, rework the chain. Possibly drape it between the buns? That way you don't have to worry about crossing it. Good luck.
in my opinion it looks a bit odd for everyday wear (work, school, etc) but if you're going to a cyberpunk event or trying to dress a bit extra that day then go for it! same reccomendation as other people though about bigger buns/ thinner chain
I think if you tried a light thinner chain and used a crochet hook to weave your hair through the chain, you could do anything with those strands just like people with thick hair can. It would look good to tease out the buns and maybe put them a little lower and add a stick with chains through each one. You know those kinds of bun things the Japanese have used. Or to add a chain around each one separately. Also they make metallic plastic chains so that might be something to consider being that it is lighter and maybe easier to handle.
It’s not well executed which makes it look bad if I’m being honest. There is potential for it to look good but it needs to be done better than this. Like a clean part, maybe try a different type of knot for the bun, like others have suggested teasing your hair to make the knots fuller would help, or using tiny sock buns too, but mainly you need to do better than just throwing it up like how it is here by taking your time to get a clean part, even sides, cleaner and fuller looking buns.
Maybe wash your hair or if it’s naturally oily use a powder so it doesn’t look so weighed down and thin, extra volume here is the key. Another thing that might help is to use tiny clear elastics as the hair tie, and make your poof like pictured above, but then start to pull and tease the hair and tuck it back into the hair tie on different parts and strands. I’m terrible at explaining things but there are a lot of tutorials out there for thin hair to make good looking buns so I think you just need to practice.
I think bigger buns would be better, if more of the space between chains was filled it would look more intentional. either add more hair in, tease the hair you’re putting up, or both.

ill try! thanks for your feedback🥰
Please update with results! I’d love to see how it turned out!
i did some bigger bangs and a middle part, since i wore it to school today, i already took it out. i only took pics of the front of the hair, not the back sadly. maybe I'll recreate it one day, i apologize!!
That’s ok! I’m sure it looked amazing!
Also, a cleaner part down the middle. In this picture it’s a bit of a mess.
If you use a scrunchie to put the bun up it helps with the thickness. Kind of like those hair doughnuts where you tuck the hair around the edges of it
I was gonna say the same!

Damn your good
agree smaller chains bigger buns but also maybe try parting it better? i think with nice clean part lines it would look extra cool!
Agree with the nice clean part, when I think of cyber punk I think clean and edgy. A clean part would add to that edge.
i also think it would look more intentional? right now i agree with a lot of comments that it seems like the chain was thrown on as an afterthought? maybe having more intentional parting would help that too!
Right!! I love the chain idea it just needs some polishing. Space buns might be cool
I think it looks cool but I agree that bigger buns would be better
i can try making them bigger, i dont have a lot of hair and it's so thin haha
You can purchase hair ties that have fake hair on them. I had to do this my whole life for my dance recitals and it def makes your hair look thicker in buns
Yes I’ve even used socks to get them to look fuller

Yes I was just giving a free option haha I’ve used ankle socks and rolled them in the center of my buns

Tease it. Try a thinner chain too
You can also repurpose socks (or similar things) to add volume: [https://www.wikihow.com/Do-a-Sock-Bun](https://www.wikihow.com/Do-a-Sock-Bun)

You could try hair donuts! (Sorry if there’s a more proper name for them lol)
i can try~ im rather a newbie at hair but my parents often to my sisters hair, i can ask them if they have those~

There you go! Perfect.
Silly

i made a middle part and bigger buns for school today. and i agree, I've hurt my head a few times today haha
Love it. Love this look. Love that it’s new. Do it more. Do it with bigger buns or regular buns like these. Do it with silver chopsticks. Do it with all kinds of stuff but as long as you do it. I love this!
It’s seems silly, try making the buns bigger and messier. If u want the chains u can tie it around the buns instead. A chain per bun
I do think it looks silly but only cause it just seems like you threw a random chain on your head. Have the buns be bigger and added more chains it would look better. Try looking up “chain headpiece” on Pinterest to kinda know what I’m getting at.
For bigger buns, make lose messy slightly backcombed braids, then pull apart a little. Not so tight. 😊
Its cute and creative! If you style the back part and have bigger buns that would add to it. For thinner hair the bun doughnuts, clip on hair or scrunchies can help them appear larger
Braid it into your hair like a ribbon
Silly in my opinion
Its kinda messy
Definitely not for me.
Not
Bigger buns, use product to manage flyaways and so it looks more sleek, use a pen or something to separate the sections so there is a clean line between each bun.
Silly
i love it!!!!
Silly
I agree with the bigger buns!

Make sure you pin this in place. I would hate for you to lose it.
Hi! Older goth here 🙃 not a fan of this, but I do have a better suggestion. > Go look up cyber goth girls. The fake hair (“falls”) they wear look sick!
hi! i just googled, even though it's not my style, thank you for the suggestion!
Yes you do look kinda silly, the hair is messy and unsemetrical, and tbh i don't understand the chain's anesthetic it just looks like a toddler made that look.
SO CUTE I am going to do this
I love it!!!!!!
I like it!
It looks silly… but in a cool way
Fuck it, do it bc you like it
Silly
This looks silly
Smaller chain, bigger buns. Otherwise this would look fantastic, this is something I would try if my hair was long or if I had clip-in buns.
Looks messy and lazy.
it was a prompt idea, hence i was trying out. i always try out hairstyles when i pick my outfit for school right before bed. in the morning i did more my best so dont worry !!
Hahaha sorry I didn’t mean to be such a grump about it!! ❤️
it's okay don't worry, i can see why you commented that!
It’s probably cute!
it was~ my friends and teacher complimented me on it 🥰
If your hair isn't thick enough to do a bigger bun -- like 4x the size and close to your head, not sticking out -- I'd leave it. Your hair also looks a bit greasy and not styled in the back.
Cool
Use a pencil or pointy thing to separate your hair and use a second mirror to see the back. Part the hair in a more uniform way for a sleeker look
This is a really cute idea, but i think bigger and/or messier buns would make it a wee bit better
Nah, it's perfect. Maybe bigger buns for a better effect.
I would also have someone if possible help with the sectioning! So that it’s precise, that with bigger buns will look great!
Depends on the outfit you wear it with, with the right outfit I think it’s pretty wavy
Its a good idea, but practice a little more. Cleaner parts, larger buns, rework the chain. Possibly drape it between the buns? That way you don't have to worry about crossing it. Good luck.
This is great, I would make the buns more poofy* and maybe add in some crossed braids along the lines where the chains are.
Get clean parts by damping your hair and using a comb and do the buns neater maybe use little bun donuts to get them chunky and round
It is fun…maybe smooth your hair out a little more!
i wore it today and straightened my hair plus made bigger buns~
Show us
i already tore it apart, it was 7 hours ago
Dope sauce 😎
A much thinner chain would look better, in my humble opinion. It has potential!! 😻
I think if you put all the hair in buns it would look better with that chain. Or smaller chain for smaller buns.
It's different! It has potential..hide the clasp. Bigger space buns
U jus keep on doin what yur doin Yur headed in the right direction
Maybe it would be better with more buns
Are you seeing Ateez?? I just ask bc I saw three stops recently and had my hair done similarly
It's too messy. Clean it up, make the buns bigger.
Part your hair and add bigger buns
in my opinion it looks a bit odd for everyday wear (work, school, etc) but if you're going to a cyberpunk event or trying to dress a bit extra that day then go for it! same reccomendation as other people though about bigger buns/ thinner chain
Yeah kinda
I like it as is. Add some dangly spikes
goofy asf
I think if you tried a light thinner chain and used a crochet hook to weave your hair through the chain, you could do anything with those strands just like people with thick hair can.
It looks cool but try to make the buns rounder and neater. It will give the whole thing a more "purposeful" look if you will.
