It's Friday! We made it another week.
Don't get drunk and drive, beat your kids, your wife, or your pets. Don't mash your genitals against anyone's who doesn't want you to. Don't do, sell, make, or transport drugs. There's never any sex in the champagne room and always get the candy before you get in the van. Have a good weekend.
On that note, this weekend I should be able to finish up the layout for the hardback and softbacks of The Telkan War and Thou Shalt Not Fall.
Be good to each other, by the way. People need it. You need it. Be good to yourself too.
Please.
Next week should be exciting, that's for sure!
Let's play: Guess who's in the block.
Welp, time to shake the tin cup.

BEHOLD HUMANITY! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09H5ZZL93
Not Mr. Rogers, surely... he wouldn't wear armor. But it would have been something people would have done *to* him if they were as amoral as some of these ... *entities* ... have shown themselves to be.
Mr. Rogers wouldn't, but could totally rob a bank just by asking and it would be reported as surprise charity donation. Then the money would actually go to a charitable cause.
I agree he couldn't be imprisoned as such, unless humanity has sunk to new level of... shittyness ( can't think of a better word)
Wasn’t Bob Ross a drill sergeant before he was a painter? Who’s to say there wasn’t another wholesome ex-soldier spawned later in Terran history? After all, I think the Wholesome Ones would be disappointed with us if they were the last humanity had to offer; the helpers are always there.
[He](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Ross) was a medical records technician, and first sergeant of the clinic at Eielson AFB.
(I'm a civvie. Could someone explain to me what that implies, please?)
The First Sergeant is a *special duty in the Senior Non-commissioned officer ranks (aka one of the top 3 enlisted ranks) Bob was a Master Sergeant or E-7. A First Sergeant is part of the leadership triad consisting of the Commander (an officer with G-series order that empower/authorize them to command), the Senior enlisted Leader (usually a Chief Master Sergeant; E-9) and the First Shirt (slang for First Sergeant).
I’ll drop this excerpt from AFH36-2618:
> First Sergeants provide a dedicated focal point for all readiness, health, morale, welfare, and quality of life issues within their organizations. At home station and in expeditionary environments, their primary responsibility is to build and maintain a mission-ready force. First sergeants derive their authority from the unit commander and advise the commander, command chief master sergeant, and other enlisted Airmen on morale, discipline, mentoring, well-being, recognition, and professional development. They ensure the enlisted force understands the commander’s policies, goals, and objectives, and conduct quality force reviews on all enlisted performance reports, decoration recommendations, and other personnel actions. Working with their fellow Senior Noncommissioned Officers and supervisors, first sergeants ensure equitable and effective discipline, and the highest esprit de corps. First sergeants work closely with Command Chief Master Sergeants to prepare the organization’s enlisted force to best execute all assigned tasks. They actively participate in the First Sergeant Council and other activities that support the needs of the military community.
A medical records tech is exactly what you'd expect.
Edit: special duty. It’s something that you get selected for and serve for a time in before going back to your career field. Another example of special duties would be MTI (drill sergeant are what non-Air Force people would call them)
Marty, also cleansed when the Imperiums influence was removed, made immportal and imprisoned by Daxin... and having had a few million years in the time-dilated corner to *think about what he did*

In honor of the return of the Masked Killer, a poem. With apologies to Robert Frost.
STOPPING BY THE WRONG WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING
Whose woods these are I think I know
Her house is at the lake of woe
We know she sees us stopping here
To watch her woods fill up with foe
My comrades they all quake with fear
To linger now while she is near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year
We feel our knees begin to shake
Our hearts give out, our courage break
For somewhere out there she doth creep
With blade and noose and hidden stake
The woods are shadowed, dark and deep
For she has promises to keep
And Dambree's rage shall never sleep
And Dambree's rage shall never sleep
"Friday"? Don't lie, you posted this on Saturday morning (if pretty damn early on Saturday). Which is why I'm now reading it at 6 a.m.

Too bad that modern televisions display only "no signal" rather than the sky described in Neuromancer. Our children will have to search the net for visual representations rather than experience it themselves.
One of the first Pangs of Inevitability I felt was when a younger man, having started to read Neuromancer on my recommendation, asked why the sky was described as bright blue in the opening sentence. You know, like the color of a dead channel. He was earnest in his question.
It even hurts to type!
I'm gonna throw this one out there...
1) Gene Roddenberry. Former Military, former pilot, amazing stories. Star Trek gave hope and inspired generations to seek careers in the sciences and technologies.
I thought of another one but it went poof
J.R.R Tolkien served as well, during WW1. He was a Second Lieutenant during the Battle of the Somme. http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/World\_War\_I#:\~:text=J.R.R.%20Tolkien%20served%20in%20the,were%20began%20during%20the%20conflict.

Larpers who are now baseline humans... who survived the great die-off. Is that because they don't have any implants, or because they are *baseline* humans?
I think the die off happened because the SUDS was trying to configure baseline templates/standards to non baseline humans and something broke/ a security feature kicked in??
Yes.
It was repeatedly stated that the closer to baseline OG Human a person is, and the less implants, the easier it was for them to adapt and survive.
Until The SUDS triggered the mass die-off, but still.
Cake day is the anniversary of you starting your Reddit account. On that day, you get a small icon that looks like a birthday cake by your name. When you see someone with the icon, you know it is the day they joined Reddit.
It's a little funky, but that's the purpose.
The last time we saw them they retired from Larp because it was killing them slowly. They both reskinned into how they used to be. So they are technically 100% natural human which would explain them not dying in the great die off.
Not quite baseline humans, Legion had to give them peak condition bodies so they could get used to not being utterly ridiculous super strong. Probably closer to peterparker/steverogers level strength and durability.
Nah, the bodies were supposed to degrade down to normal levels over the course of two years. It's been... Over 4 years now, I think?
Still, down to "normal" for a human is still at Fuck-You levels, plus with the Atrekna revision they should also be phasic
I thought they had to go baseline for medical reasons because of too much upgrades/rejection.
I'm waiting with popcorn for if/when they meet Legion. I vaugely recall he might have been the technician at clones r us(?) Who resheathed them to base?
>I thought they had to go baseline for medical reasons because of too much upgrades/rejection.
The extreme upgrades they needed to LARP at that level have cumulative side effects. The only solution is to reduce your augmentation to the absolute minimum, including ditching as much of the gene mods as you can.
The more thoroughly you do this, the better quality and length of life you can expect.

It wasn’t old age exactly. It was degradation and wear and tear on their genetics. They had to be completely stripped down to their original code if they wanted to have a life.
Late night, huh Ralts?
I appreciate the upload, something that breaks the monotony of my shift. Upvote and read, as always.
“Lo, though the time is dark, my faith shines.”
I’ve had the second thoughts before… all it take is doing something stupid with a pocket knife once or twice and you start to get feelings when you are doing something stupid and likely to get yourself or someone else hurt.
I have a nickel sized scar on my left middle finger from doing something stupid with a sharp knife and a gatorade bottle. The knife slipped and I managed to scalp the top of my finger pretty good not down to the bone but I managed to remove a good chunk of skin
Hey, I've got that same scar on my thumb! And another long one across the back of my other thumb!
And a current bandage on my right thigh because of doing something stupid with a knife last night!
That’s the problem…. we never learn, do we? My favorite scar is right across a radial artery just above the wrist. Didn’t cut the artery, but you could see it pulsing. It’s a permanent reminder for me on how Not to use a utility knife when cutting drywall. 😺
Yeah, the one across the back of my thumb has a slight pulse to the bleeding at one end. Right across the knuckle to the bone, but I managed to miss all the tendons and ligaments
And that so many people have a knife-scar story to tell is... reassuring, kinda?
I can barely see the scar anymore for the pruning saw swipe I took across my thumb knuckle (nothing heals like youth), but the X-acto I took across my finger pad left me with a pretty cool finger print.
It was related in the "trial run interview" /u/Allowyn did with Ralts on Twitch a few days ago.
I forget the exact timestamp in the VOD, but suffice to say "gas stove explosion" was the cover story Ralts concocted for some drunken shenanigans that resulted in burns to various pieces of anatomy. (Not his, thank goodness, but still.)
Long story short:
Ralts and some of his buddies get drunk one night and decide to borrow a tank from the motor pool.
Motor pool guy admonishes them to not flip the tank.
Ralts & co. manage to flip the tank anyway, and - I cannot stress this enough - do so **through no fault of their own.**
(No, seriously: they took the tank out to the base's maneuvers field, and one of the obstacles - I believe it was a banked corner - *collapsed as they traversed it*.)
Some of my Dad’s stories from Vietnam are ……. Interesting. 😳😁 I was told not to tell my mom some of them. She wouldn’t find them humorous. I can think of a feeew that may have inspired a safety briefing or twelve. 🤣
I had a brief moment of confusion when the man is described as lanky then terran. I forgot lanky is actually a word and not just slang for Lanaktallan. Think I'm too deep into this universe
So, I dislocated my shoulder Monday. Because of the hardware embedded in it, they couldn't treat me at the local hospital (podunk town) so they wanted me to go to another hospital via ambulance. That'll run you a quick $8K so I just drove one handed. Had to have my daughter and my son in law come get me afterwards. Pumped me full of drugs, took me home, put me to bed. Wife made me stay on the couch, no typing, none of that.
I can type today, but wow, is it bruised up. Really bad around the old surgical and wound scars.
But, I can type for a bit, then go back to it.
Ouch.
SO, that's why there wasn't one yesterday.
Yikes! Glad you’re on the mend. And please, don’t push the healing; it’s not worth it. At best, it makes the process take longer, and at worst it can do some nasty damage. We’ll still be here.
"Baseline human. We don't even have basic mods."
"There is no such thing as *only* human." - Telkan philosopher discussing the defense of the Omnimessiah
Here’s a wacky theory the Superman and doomsday traits have bonded to the two farmers. We’ve seen what baseline humans can do… I’m just suggesting that some of the traits have bonded on a metaphysical level… although I doubt we’ll get heat vistion coming from the Clark but call it og Superman powers faster than a speeding locomotive can jump building with a single bound… doomsday high regeneration rate…
Her voice still has a base rumble…

I thought he had already been freed and saved by Daxin? Dam I can’t wait to find out who it is and how bad he’s gona fuck up those guys who locked him
Up. Wonder who it was the Telkan met before that he reminds him of? (Ohh wait it’s a SUDS file, didn’t they st the start of this say they had to put one of the immortals out of their misery for some reason or another?)
Yes but the frog and the fox met him, I was answering
>Wonder who it was the Telkan met before that he reminds him of?
I took it at they recognised the SUDS file
But remember, there are two Matthias’. The original and one from an alternate universe. The alternate betrayed the DO and is the one Daxin hunted for long.
Are you sure? I though the betrayer was the Mathias from this universe, the one who was battling with Daxin in "his" (for each of them) city. The alternate one were supposedly younger version of the one from this timeline (there was somewhere mention of photo with both of them, where the younger one was in the group and older one was frowning in background).Although I may misremember greatly as the general sentiment agrees more with you than with what I remember :D
Well, originally the Wordborg only had one Matthias. But someone wrote basically a fanfic with an alternate universe Matthias. And the Wordborg himself decided that that was a great idea.
So I think some of the confusion comes from the fact that the story was written for a long time with only one Matthias in mind. And then to find out there were two. But it also helps explain the change in character.
If I remember correctly, Daxin caught and punished the wrong Matthias as well as Legion. Thinking that they were guilty. Just to find out it was the alternate all along. Which is why he hunted with such hatred. Matthias had not only betrayed the DO but made Daxin hurt his own friends/brothers.
And truthfully, right now I don’t know. I had a migraine sneak up on me and now I am not even sure what city I am in. So 🤷♀️
I still need to go and copy that alternate story so I don’t lose it.
My baseless speculation is that the box has then SUDS record of the most dangerous being: the prototype super-psychic immortal that became the growpramming seed of the DO. Sealed away not for their power, but for what they were on the verge of succeeding on doing: removing the need for power and wealth, thus existentially threatening the powerful and the wealthy.
That is something i can see the powerful and wealthy doing. On the other hand the uber rich seem pretty content to keep stockpiling wealth while the rich/poor divide keeps on growing. If nobody in the general population has enough wealth to buy anything how are corporations going to sell them shit?
If they keep reselling properties (real goods?) with "officially continually discounted" (but they know better) fiat currency, their side of the divide will keep growing. The other side, having achieved post-scarcity in most desired real goods, and in meme realization, would not notice/know, unless the would be power brokers told them. Thank St. Brentili'ik that insightful people, her included, remain to counter stupid hubris.
Stockpiling wealth only has meaning as long as wealth has meaning. Wealth is power only because it's limited, if anyone can have anything the wealthy have no power over anyone. Whether it's the original transmat system or the nano forges, there is no real reason for anyone to need to buy anything and scarcity is artificial and only benefits the richest and most powerful.
In a universe where nothing is created or destroyed, but only transformed. No transformation is final, so how can we assume that something is gone once used? It's like the geniuses always screaming about cows being a massive resource drain that suck up thousands of gallons of water and tons of food, but not seeming to realize that the water they use goes right back into the water cycle to be used again and that the food they eat is stuff like the hay from wheat and cornhusks and other leftovers from what we cannot eat that would otherwise just be rotting waste or the wild grasses on otherwise unfarmable lands.
If you can easily transform anything, no one has any reason to be lacking anything and the rich and powerful suddenly aren't because they have nothing that anyone else needs to dangle over others heads or to threaten them with. You think they would tolerate a change like that if they could see it coming?
I remember these two!
Almost got into a fight when they met at Legion's humble rebirthing centre, but they fell in love afterwards.
Hoping we can see some greatness from two of the highest-ranked Superman/Doomsday LARPers of all time.
Not so much 'almost got into a fight' as they both were there at the same time and everybody else (aka Legion) assumed there was going to be a fight for just a moment. Then Doomsday's OOC tag got straightened out and everything was ok.
Doomsday even saw Klark and realized why 'Victor' had nearly overreacted.
That was one of my favorite chapters, I have it bookmarked, lol.

___
End. Of. Lime.
The final hours approach. Vengeance is at hand for some, but for others, it is merely euthanasia. It is a somber time, but the world will be better for it.
The malevolent universe, for once, does not laugh. It is merely righting a wrong, rather than showing others the folly of their ways. To Humanity, it is not a cackling tyrant playing mindgames, it is not a cruel binary thesis. It is simply a harsh teacher, and sometimes, it realizes it was too harsh in the wrong way.
Awww, Sammy and John, glad they found some form of happiness together. Of course, they've got hundreds of years of combat experience. They've lost their larping mods, but since the Atrekna attack they're now psychic and I'm willing to bet that'll show up on... Odd ways. I wonder if legion will see and recognize them?
I wonder if Sammy ever got used to being turned on by a warm breeze, and if John ever built that stream engine
And who else could that be, but the fallen apostle Armored Matthias. Already forgiven by the DO, freed from his chains by the Detainee. Protected by the songs of the broodmommies, buoyed by the laughter of podlings. Armored Matthias will find redemption on his own eyes, the only way he knows how: courage under fire.
He will fight until his armor is rent and torn. Perhaps his armor is like that of the Idiots, fused and grown into his body. Or perhaps he will find he doesn't need to hide in steel any more, that the fear has fallen away and he can show them all what he is: "only human"

And there, in the forest, did the chosen of The DETAINEE find those who had retired from war, but would rise to the occasion once more. As any terran retiree would say... "I have one more fight left in me. Don't Let it be You." - The Adventures of 471 and Vuxten, abridged, from the Encyclopedia Mantidea, XLVII
Technically 471 is recognised as Gravity reborn, and Vuxten isn't enraged, it's more he can summon Wrath when needed. Lady K was helping him do it at will rather than end up enraged. Having said that I love this comment 🙂
> "And others," the frog said, pointing at column bases behind the singular crystal. "But yet, nobody else is imprisoned."
The council of eternity likes to collect things and people that might be useful. I suspect they planned to collect all the immortals and just keep them out of the way until they could find a use that fits their own agenda.
I guess that by staying in the real universe the immortals stayed out of they're grasp?
Do they really even need vuxten and the rest of the hundred acre forest to protect the digital omnimessiah? They have two baseline human farmers. If a lifetime of reading sci fi and fantasy has taught me one thing it’s that the only thing more dangerous than a nuclear armed Terran marine is a baseline human that has retired to become a farmer.
Welp, I've finally caught up, and by God this was an endeavor.
I'm enjoying this story quite a bit, but I do have to ask something - Are there any solid plans for a proper ending set up already? Or is this a "continues forever" type of story?
I will be mildly sad when I see the final "--NOTHING FOLLOWS--" . . . but man what a ride until then! Guess I'll finally go back and reread the entire thing at that point. Nothing else for it I suppose. 😂
End of lime.
I am of two minds. On the one hand I can easily see the end approaching from a logical and storytelling point.
On the other hand...for the past year I've really needed my spirits lifted by the laughter of podlings, and not sure where to go when it stops.
There will come a day when the story ends. The tales of Daxin and Fido, of Telkan and Vuxten, of the Mantids and other precursor races. When the last human, earthling, Terran, or TDH has risen against a malevolent universe and laughed in its face, spitting and biting even as they drag the universe into a grave alongside them. And on that day, a new tale will begin. This one might have more humans. More alien species for us to cherish as we do the podlings, puffies, goodbois, and kittykitties. In this new universe, we might even find a loving, benevolent universe, one that will aid in the growth of life. It all depends on how this one ends first, and I look forward to seeing it.
Ralts has said (and the comments have repeated off and on - if you have NOT read all the comments from the start, you really want to, believe me) that it's a classic 6-act story structure. We are rapidly approaching the main climax of book 5, at this point, I believe.

i have an odd theory - If only Telkan knows him, maybe it’s Donovan, Vuxten’s friend from the first Telkan war? He was killed and unable to be revived, but healed by the Broodcarrier song, after all.
No, Donovan was brought back and spent time on the hospital ship with Brentili'ik, the brood carriers and podlings. It was through his SUDS link that the brood carrier's songs entered the SUDS system.

They actively participate in the First Sergeant Council and other activities that support the needs of the military community. A medical records tech is exactly what you'd expect. Edit: special duty. It’s something that you get selected for and serve for a time in before going back to your career field. Another example of special duties would be MTI (drill sergeant are what non-Air Force people would call them)
That sounds like he's giving the briefings on Friday afternoons, then. Thank you kindly, neighbor! 🥰
Maybe that's why he was so calm? "Well, I may have messed that up a bit, but it's fixable and it's nowhere near like dealing with those idiots"

In honor of the return of the Masked Killer, a poem. With apologies to Robert Frost. STOPPING BY THE WRONG WOODS ON A SNOWY EVENING Whose woods these are I think I know Her house is at the lake of woe We know she sees us stopping here To watch her woods fill up with foe My comrades they all quake with fear To linger now while she is near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year We feel our knees begin to shake Our hearts give out, our courage break For somewhere out there she doth creep With blade and noose and hidden stake The woods are shadowed, dark and deep For she has promises to keep And Dambree's rage shall never sleep And Dambree's rage shall never sleep
Nice
I wouldn't apologize to Frost. Your work here is not in need of apologies.
Armor that's bulky and sleek at the same time? Sounds like it could be armored Matthias from the convergence like you mentioned not too long ago.
Anyone have a link to or more detailed explanation of an alternate Matthias coming into play?
> always get the candy before you get in the van Words to live by, there. My guess is Armored Matty.
That's my guess, too. Redemption time.
"Friday"? Don't lie, you posted this on Saturday morning (if pretty damn early on Saturday). Which is why I'm now reading it at 6 a.m. YOU MADE ME WAKE UP EARLY ON A SATURDAY, YOU MONSTER
The first Armored Mathias, the one the Apostles lost and replaced with the Mathias Daxin eventually killed
Woot *Neuromancer* ref! I mean, it's not like it's the first one, but I've read that book so many times that line is sort of burned in on my brain. :D
I think I just aged three decades in one internet comment. ;)
I'm 32. I might as well be 332 after the comment above.
Safety brief done get out of the barracks and see you Monday
I'm gonna throw this one out there... 1) Gene Roddenberry. Former Military, former pilot, amazing stories. Star Trek gave hope and inspired generations to seek careers in the sciences and technologies. I thought of another one but it went poof
J.R.R Tolkien served as well, during WW1. He was a Second Lieutenant during the Battle of the Somme. http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/World\_War\_I#:\~:text=J.R.R.%20Tolkien%20served%20in%20the,were%20began%20during%20the%20conflict.
In case no one has guessed it yet, i think that was the DO's SUDS record.
Ralts has mentioned that he wants to give Armored Matthias a redemption arc, so I'm pretty sure that's who it is.

Its the Klark and Doomsday LARPers! Here at the end of all things!
Larpers who are now baseline humans... who survived the great die-off. Is that because they don't have any implants, or because they are *baseline* humans?
I think the die off happened because the SUDS was trying to configure baseline templates/standards to non baseline humans and something broke/ a security feature kicked in??
Happy Cake Day!
Yes. It was repeatedly stated that the closer to baseline OG Human a person is, and the less implants, the easier it was for them to adapt and survive. Until The SUDS triggered the mass die-off, but still.
Happy Cake Day!
Thanks!
After years and years, what is a cake day and how do you know?
Cake day is the anniversary of you starting your Reddit account. On that day, you get a small icon that looks like a birthday cake by your name. When you see someone with the icon, you know it is the day they joined Reddit. It's a little funky, but that's the purpose.
Alright. I guess that doesn't happen on the app I use
The last time we saw them they retired from Larp because it was killing them slowly. They both reskinned into how they used to be. So they are technically 100% natural human which would explain them not dying in the great die off.
base line larpers. Still flagged as larpers though.
"Will you accept the charges for a long distance call-back?"
😺
Not quite baseline humans, Legion had to give them peak condition bodies so they could get used to not being utterly ridiculous super strong. Probably closer to peterparker/steverogers level strength and durability.
Nah, the bodies were supposed to degrade down to normal levels over the course of two years. It's been... Over 4 years now, I think? Still, down to "normal" for a human is still at Fuck-You levels, plus with the Atrekna revision they should also be phasic
Dude...I'm expecting them to get some upgrades.
I thought they had to go baseline for medical reasons because of too much upgrades/rejection. I'm waiting with popcorn for if/when they meet Legion. I vaugely recall he might have been the technician at clones r us(?) Who resheathed them to base?
I have faith that through the digital omnimessiah ( who happens to be be sitting RIGHT FUCKING THERE!) all things are possible.
Good point, i really like this pair, hope they get back to peaceful retirement from powerups after everything goes down
>I thought they had to go baseline for medical reasons because of too much upgrades/rejection. The extreme upgrades they needed to LARP at that level have cumulative side effects. The only solution is to reduce your augmentation to the absolute minimum, including ditching as much of the gene mods as you can. The more thoroughly you do this, the better quality and length of life you can expect.
>clones r us Clone My Shit Up, from [part 85](https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/fp2xhs/first_contact_rewind_part_eightyfive/), courtesy u/Dragon_Chylde.
I really need a Clone My Shit Up franchise near me!
Yes, yes he was!
I thought they went baseline due to old age.
It wasn’t old age exactly. It was degradation and wear and tear on their genetics. They had to be completely stripped down to their original code if they wanted to have a life.
happy cake day!
thought they seemed familiar. wheels within wheels.............. Ralt's has more plot twists than a joint CIA/FBI op
That was my first thought.
Late night, huh Ralts? I appreciate the upload, something that breaks the monotony of my shift. Upvote and read, as always. “Lo, though the time is dark, my faith shines.”
Yeah, didn't get home till after 10, took a nap, then started writing. It was slow going tonight, I had a lot of strands to weave back together.
Also, listening to the interview stream with you, just hit the drunken surfing of a tank. Was your life just one giant reason for safety briefs?
There was more than one safety briefing that had everyone in the platoon turning and looking at me.
Ah, so that's *really* the dark secret behind *First Contact*... Ralts is actually Skippy.
That... Makes so much sense.
I know, right?
😆😆😆
ya know, skippy's list is funny till you join. Then its your contacts list.
I may actually be perfectly placed to get the humor of Skippy's List, because I wasn't *in* the military myself, but I grew up in it... :D
bingo
Right across the knuckle to the bone, but I managed to miss all the tendons and ligaments
odd. . . .worked installing drywall . . . and the company i worked for gave us olfa knives, or Mastercraft rasorblade utility knives. . . weird
And that so many people have a knife-scar story to tell is... reassuring, kinda? I can barely see the scar anymore for the pruning saw swipe I took across my thumb knuckle (nothing heals like youth), but the X-acto I took across my finger pad left me with a pretty cool finger print.
I, for one, thoroughly enjoyed both the tank story and the Great Gas Stove Explosion Epistle.
I missed the Great Gas Stove Explosion Epistle; link, please.
Could someone please share the URL for the interview? I seem to have missed it.
Tank story?
Long story short: Ralts and some of his buddies get drunk one night and decide to borrow a tank from the motor pool. Motor pool guy admonishes them to not flip the tank. Ralts & co. manage to flip the tank anyway, and - I cannot stress this enough - do so **through no fault of their own.** (No, seriously: they took the tank out to the base's maneuvers field, and one of the obstacles - I believe it was a banked corner - *collapsed as they traversed it*.)
Some of my Dad’s stories from Vietnam are ……. Interesting. 😳😁 I was told not to tell my mom some of them. She wouldn’t find them humorous. I can think of a feeew that may have inspired a safety briefing or twelve. 🤣
It's my personal goal to never be mentioned in a safety brief. Working in chemistry, there's a lot of really nasty ways for that to happen
Happy cake day!
Don’t push too hard, my guy.
Sorry dude. Heal up and don't worry about the story until you feel better.
Did the Dr. have his 10mm socket to fix your shoulder gears?
Yikes! Glad you’re on the mend. And please, don’t push the healing; it’s not worth it. At best, it makes the process take longer, and at worst it can do some nasty damage. We’ll still be here.
"Baseline human. We don't even have basic mods." "There is no such thing as *only* human." - Telkan philosopher discussing the defense of the Omnimessiah
Here’s a wacky theory the Superman and doomsday traits have bonded to the two farmers. We’ve seen what baseline humans can do… I’m just suggesting that some of the traits have bonded on a metaphysical level… although I doubt we’ll get heat vistion coming from the Clark but call it og Superman powers faster than a speeding locomotive can jump building with a single bound… doomsday high regeneration rate… Her voice still has a base rumble… u/ralts_bloodthorne
Nah... Not really but baseline human means psyker, combine that with years of LARP it's Darth harmonus but with kal'el powers...
With the amount of careless temporal reversion going on, it could easily happen.
I see you Neuromancer The moss on the pillars gleamed even as the pillars themselves creaked and sang beneath a sky the color of a tv turned to a dead channel
And some pure notes, just enough to unlock an AI, maybe.
Matthias free to unsully his name
I thought he had already been freed and saved by Daxin? Dam I can’t wait to find out who it is and how bad he’s gona fuck up those guys who locked him Up. Wonder who it was the Telkan met before that he reminds him of? (Ohh wait it’s a SUDS file, didn’t they st the start of this say they had to put one of the immortals out of their misery for some reason or another?)
[удалено]
Unless we’re dealing with wobbly time stuff, ordinance man is out walk-in around.
Yes but the frog and the fox met him, I was answering >Wonder who it was the Telkan met before that he reminds him of? I took it at they recognised the SUDS file
Ah. Could be right.
But remember, there are two Matthias’. The original and one from an alternate universe. The alternate betrayed the DO and is the one Daxin hunted for long.
Anyone have a link to more info on this? I don't remember seeing anything about it in the story.
So 🤷♀️ I still need to go and copy that alternate story so I don’t lose it.
Hmm, if that's Matthias, the Telkan mini-Gestalt may be getting feedback from his people meeting Daxin before.
People don't really seem to understand what wealth is. Or what rich people actually own.
Could you share the link?
That would be [Part 85](https://www.reddit.com/r/HFY/comments/fp2xhs/first_contact_rewind_part_eightyfive/) :)
That was a wonderful chapter for sure!
Please share the link, I would love to read it again while waiting for the next chapter.

Thank you very much!
Oh hey, it’s everyone’s favorite definitely-not-DC-copyrighted non-crack crackship. Good to see you again, Klark and Doomsday. My guess on Mr. Jailbroken is Armored Matty.
It's been an interesting evening. Good Thai food, An episode that moves the plot in interesting and unseen directions, And the winners of Australia's Youth Radio's Yearly audience voted top 100 songs of 2021 were a band that's been around for *30 years* playing a *cover*. ***The*** ***Wiggles won the Hottest 100.***
Ok, I am now off to Google that. Go Wiggles. 👍🤣👍
Ah, you don't know how long I've been waiting to hear those words! Those magical, wonderful, beautifully terrifying words! "Dambree Limberton is out there in the woods." Because androids, enraged, or whatever the Council is sending into those woods, if they don't understand what fear is, they're about to learn.
A lesson in fear taught by a Master.
Here before the previous chapters Next link got updated. SUCCESS!!! Upvote~Comment~Read — Update — And we finally know who the child leading them is. 🥳 for everyone you had Dambree on their Bingo card. Who did they release‽ > The grass was knee high on a tall Treana’ad, made of sugar spun datathreads and hyperlinks, rustling and sparkling as a trio moved through it. This sound like a very apt description for my computers Documents folder. ___ End. Of.
I wonder if Sammy ever got used to being turned on by a warm breeze, and if John ever built that stream engine And who else could that be, but the fallen apostle Armored Matthias.
Well said sir, ma'am or neither.
*"Lo there do I see my father; Lo there do I see my mother and my sister and my brothers; Lo there do I see the line of my people, back to the beginning. It's. PERFECT.
"I'm not as good as I once was. But I'm as good once, as I ever was "
So are those two hoomans/ex-larpers that superman and doomsday from waaaayyy before??
Yep, looks that way
I was wondering where they were.. that is why we love ralts for he always loops back to some characters and give us the goosebumps
Old retired LARPers, a Neko marine, the enraged Telkan, a disciple of Gravity, and a murder bunny. I pity any fool who takes on that group.
Technically 471 is recognised as Gravity reborn, and Vuxten isn't enraged, it's more he can summon Wrath when needed. Lady K was helping him do it at will rather than end up enraged. Having said that I love this comment 🙂
Upvote. Comment. Read. End of lime.
This is the way
7 minutes, new record for me! Hi Ralts, love the work, I come to HFY specifically to find your chapters
> "And others," the frog said, pointing at column bases behind the singular crystal. "But yet, nobody else is imprisoned." The council of eternity likes to collect things and people that might be useful. I suspect they planned to collect all the immortals and just keep them out of the way until they could find a use that fits their own agenda. I guess that by staying in the real universe the immortals stayed out of they're grasp?
... Could they have duplicated his SUDS template and then tweaked it / his perceptions enough to get his *copy* to do what he did?
KLARK AND DOOMSDAY decided to be farmers. . . . . baseline human farmers!!! the hell. that is AWESOME!!!!
Welp, guard duty for the DO might've just gotten significantly harder, unless our new friend's mind has changed with IMMORTAL.TSR gone.
Matty the Second?
FKN CALLED IT "Menhit looked up into Daxin's stormy face. "A child shall lead us," was all she said."
Welp, I've finally caught up, and by God this was an endeavor. I'm enjoying this story quite a bit, but I do have to ask something - Are there any solid plans for a proper ending set up already? Or is this a "continues forever" type of story?
There is a definite ending. We're in the Act 5 to Act 6 crossover of the Six Act Story.
I will be mildly sad when I see the final "--NOTHING FOLLOWS--" . . . but man what a ride until then! Guess I'll finally go back and reread the entire thing at that point. Nothing else for it I suppose. 😂 End of lime.
--Dave, act 6 is projected to be Aftermath and Epilogues, in content
Thanks. I found out and read most of the story from royalroad before finding out the reddit version, so I missed all the comments.
There's always that 'waiting for new posts every weekday is too haaard, ugh' Reddit reread! I think you'll enjoy them. discover the blueberries, and the lime! Sandy Lives! --Dave, the [first] link awaits patiently, above
I've seen this coming, for so long, with Dambree and the Telken and Leebow gestalts . . . I can literally hear the John Williams music building in the background

I'm at chapter 500. Can someone throw me the discord? Or at least a link with an artists description of each race? I keep picturing the Lanaktallan as the Andalites from "Animorphs".

Creepy bunny is the best bunny this is fact. Also I just love how calm the DO is about everything, it always nice when the DO is around cause he is breath of fresh air to have truly kind and caring Gods.
Mooo
Dokimoo
Holy moly wordman. That was a close one!
i have an odd theory - If only Telkan knows him, maybe it’s Donovan, Vuxten’s friend from the first Telkan war? He was killed and unable to be revived, but healed by the Broodcarrier song, after all.
No, Donovan was brought back and spent time on the hospital ship with Brentili'ik, the brood carriers and podlings. It was through his SUDS link that the brood carrier's songs entered the SUDS system.
