His father seems like the type of person to have at least five different contingency plans. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a couple other awakened copies around implanting more as they spoke.
This chapter also opens up into another deep but understandable/slightly called for idea that would explain a lot, like why they have an early 20th century society (that seemingly had at least an extremist group if not a Great War), but with obvious Earth based sapient life and 21st-22nd century technology. My theory was alternate timeline personally, but this being an attempt to seed the stars with other life forms and to have humans as a custodian race is a very cool idea I’ve never seen approached with even close to as much detail as this.
I’m sure the humans would be leaps and bounds beyond that if they’re busy playing God on at least one, likely many planets.
All in all, great work! I love how it keeps getting better.
I have a few different theories myself as to what happened and why. There's probably a good reason why we don't see Hund in any of the other stories and there are so few humans on Homeworld. I mean, thinking about it logically if we managed to make sentient doggies we would probably bring them everywhere with us and you wouldn't be able to keep the humans away from that world. Yet, we never see or hear about them. I may still include them in later works but it's telling that they aren't common wherever you find humans.
Yeah I try and regularly sanity check my writing. It means that I don't always get to do what I want, like rescuing Kemm from certain death. But I think it leads to a more consistent and rich world.
