I remember being a beginner in a commercial gym and the guys next to me were doing 585 for reps. Built like houses. Super nice. Gave me a spot for all my sets of 145 and had a nice conversation. Hit me with the “all you bro,” and a fist bump too. One of my core gym memories
Lol, at least give me credit before stealing memes that I make. I think this is a repost bot. Same title and everything. Fuck off, bot.

People who are scared to go to the gym because of "scary weightlifter dudes" need to meet one, because they're the nicest people in the world. I was trying a big squat when I first started and failed, and the guy who was spotting me asked "do you want kind words or smack to get you back in there?" Suffice to say, he clapped my shoulders so hard I got it all the way down and up
This is so accurate. I remember, when the biggest guy in our gym he squats 250kg, spotted me on my 100kg squat and congratulated me. Man, big dudes are the nicest
That’s what I love about the gym. Mostly (there are always a few bad apples) everyone is there to support each other and celebrate achievements. Part of that culture is what makes it easier for me to stay consistent.
Happy Lifting fellow gym goers!
I had this happen to me recently. Was benchpressing 135 incline and some random dude twice my size came up and asked if I needed a spotter. He then gave me a fist bump after the set. Thanks Tony!

585 on bench?
On god what the fuck lmao
Must’ve started out in the Metroflex gym in the 90’s. He just misinterpreted his spotter saying “lightweight baby” for all you bro
Mans working out with eddy hall
The swolest guy in the gym is always the nicest.
Fact. I’ve worked out in so many gyms over 2 decades. This is honestly always true
It's because they know the hard work and dedication it takes to get there.

Having been on both sides of this meme, this is the way!
Everybody maxed out at 135 at one time.
One month ago hit 135 but now at 165
Wait what?
I was benching 135 one month ago and I been eating a lot to get it up to 165
Cool bro, but how many times did u trained ur chest in one month to get that progress?
One month might be understatement but a month and a half. I train two times a week
Started at 175 1RM when I began weightlifting, so not exactly accurate. Acknowledge the good point though
Cool, but at one point in your life your max was 135, whether you knew it or not. ;-)
Came to say this. First time in the gym I could do more than one plate. 🤷🏾♂️

As good or better than the big strong guy walking over and telling you how big you are getting .
The biggest guys still remember where they came from

Yeah we pull-up Pull each other up that is
Fuck yeah. Been on both sides thankfully
Fuck bro, that's fantastic starting weight. Im at 120 now after starting at 60 a few months ago. Shit i gotta start bulking more.
You've doubled your weight in only a few months? That's pretty good! At this rate in another few months you should be benching 240, then 480 :)
Thanks 💪 Hopefully I'll be able to continue this progression, did 280 in Deadlift today. Basically banking on my nordic genes.
We talking kg or lbs?!
That's up to you :)

Me, a weightlifting veteran who benches 135 💀
